Hey Yvette. Firstly don't apologise. You owe us viewers nothing.
I'm sorry you've had a hard time. Well done for getting help. Many people suffer in silence and that's not good long term.

UA-cam is a hobby, real life is what really matters. Sounds like you had a really crap time, so we are all glad that you are getting back to a positive place. Depression is a bastard of an affliction and you owe no explanation to anyone, but hopefully hearing your struggles and coming through will help others in a similar dark space right now.

So sorry about your friend's passing! And your grandparent. Very tragic. I'm glad you took some time off to focus on your mental health and pursue therapy. Good for you! I hope you continue to feel stronger and more solid in the coming months! XX

Well done for taking the time to share this. Losing someone you care about so much can play havoc with mental health. I lost my father in October 2022, but I had friends who helped me through a tough time and I also had my hobby of making plastic models which also helped me through. Once again, well done for sharing this.

Yvettes I am so sorry, your journey really. hit me hard. I am 59, no spring chicken, my boss after a short illness died of a brain tumour. Honestly, we had no idea, that was the hardest thing for me. Such a shock, I am glad you are back. Be nice to yourself that is the most important thing. It is OK not to be OK!

Good to see you smiling again Yvette. Pleased you took the time out you needed. Dealing with 'real life' is so much more important than worrying about sharing content on social platform. Important to come to terms with major upheavals and take time to grow and learn through those experiences. Pleased you feel in a better place now. Sending my Best to you and Daniel.

Hi Yvette, firstly Im glad you feel well enough to come back to UA-cam. You don't need to apologise to anyone for taking the break you needed.
I know exactly what you mean about losing someone your own age vs someone older. I remember being devastated at losing a cousin I used to go school with, but we weren't particularly close, yet being able to deal with my grandmothers death so much easier.
Regarding content, I like travelling stuff, and Id be really interested to see "real" Australia vs the Neighbours version we are all used to here. Like - do you eat the same things, are weddings / traditions the same, and what you think of those things now youve been in England for a few years.

  • @paulbromley6687
    @paulbromley6687 9 місяців тому

Rough seas, but you seem to be someone who can deal with the tough times by finding coping strategies, and you know people care, and are there for you if you need to find a diversion for a bit, but also it’s okay to use you tube as a way of channeling. Do you meditate, Sometimes it can feel like too much is coming at you all at once and you feel you have to do something. Well I’ve found just let it happen and it’s still fine and you don’t have to control everything. Not sure if that helps but it’s good to see you looking forward and positive.

Well done on making this video` it must have been very hard to do. Welcome back to Your UA-cam Family ... it really is great to see you smiling again.
I think everyone would be happy just to see you doing the random stuff like you did before .... it was always entertaining trying to figure out what you were going to do next. Mental health is a great subject to cover` if you really feel up to talking about it .. and it would help loads of people out there who think they have to go through it all on their own.

Thank you Yvette for this lovely honest video; I’m sure everyone is as happy as I am to see you again. I had a similar experience 2 years ago and completely understand what you mean about developing this new toolbox for coping. You should be really proud of yourself as coming through the other side is one of the hardest things to do. Keep going and know also that you are much loved by your community here. You helped me and so many others get the strength to get through lockdown during the pandemic; thank you for your recommendation of the movie ‘Parasite’; you always pop into my mind each time I see this (do take that as a compliment) 😂

House is looking good got it all done since i last saw your house tour.
Yes been there, lost 3 friends before i left school to cancer & a motorbike crash. Lost everyone else to various cancers inc asbestosis😢.
On a walk i chatted to a random guy on a moorland hike, he gave me the advice to change the situation for the better ( basically leave working with Autistic adults) before i did something terminal. Chatted to a therapist all's good mostly.
Keep ya chin up & hug hubby for no reason.

I know how much things change and how life can be blown out the water...... the day before my birthday my mum was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and it felt and still does that life will implode, I found I closed myself off from my IRL friends but I've got my head around it and I am opening up again. What I am saying is we all cope in different ways and there is no right or wrong way, but you must look after yourself.
I just wanted to say I am glad things are getting better and remember your community haven't left they will still be here!
    Peace and love.

    Hi Yvette
Lovely to see you back again and feeling better. It's always a real delight to catch up with what's going on in your life and to hear your perspective on things, but please don't feel constrained by some sort of schedule, whether its 3 times a week or once a month it'll be fine. Most importantly don't push things too hard, look after yourself and those closest to you. 🙂

It’s good to see you back on UA-cam Yvette. I’m sorry to hear about your close friend and grandfather who passed away. I’m 51 now, but when I was 15 my father passed away from Leukaemia at 60 yrs. And sadly one of my older twin brothers has mesothelioma cancer stage 4, and is battling hard and living longer than his prognosis, but it’s weird how my brother is 61, around the same age my father died, when I remember what my brother said when our dad passed away; I don’t know why but I feel I will die when I reach dads age. Bearing in mind, my brother suffered a lot from depression at the time, but even so I find those memories haunting now. In Dec 2011 my mum passed away, and 6 months later one of my sisters passed away, after her breast cancer came back. Therapy helps, and I’m seeing a psychotherapist and a psychologist on the NHS to help get through these tough times. Life is hard but it’s lessons teach us how much we should value life, and live each moment to the full. Easier said than done, but appreciation is the first step towards coping with life’s uncertainty’s. :)

... life is so short ... share your lovely smile and humour with as many people as possible ... happiness is not where you are or what you've got but who you are with ... i honestly believe you can have the best night of your life in a bus shelter if you are with the right person or people ... the nice people you lost made you the nice person you ... celebrate them always by sharing your smile 😁

I’d like to offer you a tiny bit of advice, learn to let go and allow a tear to roll down your cheek when you watch a sad scene in a movie, it’ll be your pressure valve and it may save you from ever breaking down again; take it from an old man who had to learn that too. Nice to see you back.

I know this is going to send extremely insensitive and I apologize in advance. I have realised one thing, "Nobody is immortal". This philosophy has helped me cope with the fact that people die. Somebody might die a day after being born or at the age of 140, but it is inevitable 🤷‍♂

People going through a full breakdown don't go on holidays abroad. You're exceptionally lucky to keep a grandparent till your 30's. The death of your friend got you down, people with a good quality of life have a difficult time dealing with the negative things in life.

Life is a total bitch. And then you die.
No-one, but no-one, is totally immune to everything that life throws at us - it would be a very odd world indeed if we were, and those that claim that they are immune, are very odd indeed.
You have obviously got through an awful lot of real crap that has come your way, which is a great credit to you, as much so as the fact that you feel free to talk about life.
RIP Charlotte, long live a content and sorted survivor, Yvette.
Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi Yvette. So so sorry to hear what you've been through. Been there, still there, 20 years later. Why 20 years? Like you threw myself into work. 14 years of that and I just couldn't do it anymore, me being a perfectionist and them being incompetent, well I think you will understand. Waking up in the morning and lying there just seeing blackness and the feeling of uselessness. Didn't bother phoning in or anything, why bother, no-one cares! Being Trans didn't help either especially with her passing some 3 months after coming out to her, so feelings of guilt.
It was my Mother who passed after 8 years of me caring for her. She was okay for a while but the death of my Father 13 years before I think took it's toll. Both from large families and the last to go. and not lingering but suddenly.

Missed you, but where the hell are you living now? Seems like your not i your old house? Sorry for your losses, but we all need live after loss as loss is everywhere and inevitable and part of life, and being a Stroke Survivor I died so I was told by my mate who was there and he called for the Defib but I had a heart beat before the trained operative came down to his disappointment and they are going to a Better place, not being a christian.. So don't worry about death since I "died" so to speak I've researched everything about death and the afterlife and the was a conference in the 900s or thereabout about which books they should keep in the Bible and to invent a bogeyman to frighten people with no hope from killing themselves which we all call the Devil and the books they removed they now call the Agnostic texts or some other name of a person, and those texts have reincarnation in them, so all's well in the Afterlife! Look after yourself..
