  • If you found a death butterfly in garden, why not preserve and frame it as collection.
    This Part 1 video will show you step by step how to prepare a relaxing chamber, and spreading and mounting butterfly. Substitute with Listerine if you can't find any pine sol.
    The Part 2 will show you how to build a shadow box and frame it.

    Rule number one: DO NOT TOUCH THE BUTTERFLY'S WINGS. for it will ruin its beauty when you plan to preserve it. use tweezers

    I really thought you were going to pin through the wing for a second there... it's maddening to see people doing this in their tutorials on how to destroy a butterfly. Interesting idea to pin it upside-down; that probably helps mitigate the annoying tendency for butterflies to twist around on slotted boards.

    Butterfly just died, found it while it was dying and put it with my flowers I have drying in the house. But I'm confused. Some sites say the pinesol trick is only for if they are stiff, but I'm worried what happens when the insides start to break down. Does the pinesol trick stop it from decaying?

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  2 роки тому +1

      The pinesol is just the mold inhibitors when you put in relaxing chamber. The key is to have it properly dry and then put in air tight frame. If your butterfly just died, the wings should be easily spread. ...straight pin onto the board and let it dry.
