Everything is sad about this video, I hope Jason is doing ok, I never was a fan of either, but respect the virtuosity, I'm just a struggling player that been playing since the early 90s
I'm a "poor" widowed disabled single dad who's been on dialysis for almost 20 years now. If I had deep enough pockets I'd make sure I won the bid for this epic piece and give it right back to Jason to do with as he wishes. Keep it, auction it again or whatever. I bought and watched Not Dead Yet on Saturday 12/9/21 and the heavy rock music world was robbed when Jason was as well. He was such an amazing musician and what he's done in his life as a composer is nothing short of amazing as well! God bless & Godspeed to Jason Becker! 🤘🏼🎸🤘🏼
Brings me an indescribable pain in my heart that Jason didnt get to share more of his gift with the world he really is one of the greatest to ever do it.
Same, such a tragedy. His solo albums are incredible when you consider his only form of communication was his *eyes*. "Beginning of the end" never fails to make me tear up. Jason Becker is a musical giant.
From the interviews and books I've read, he's a great guy with a big heart. Alcohol can take the nicest person on Earth and turn them into a monster. As soon as Eddie went sober, his true good-hearted self came out. We were always seeing him in the news for his charitable contributions and for making up with old friends. That's the Eddie I wish to remember.
Eddie had this charm and the smile and the style that made you want to know as much as you can about him. Even more than his guitar playing but as a person.I remember when all we had was the guitar magazines and mtv videos to see him. I remember when he did that interview and video with Valerie on network tv. I waited all week in anticipation for the show. He's always been my favorite player and hero. I know he had his flaws but his good side will never be forgotten !
Love seeing this. As a player, I love watching Eddie and his mastery of the guitar. The Jason Becker documentary also really impacted me. It’s tragic that someone with such a love for guitar and his mastery to have it taken away. Prayers for Jason.
EVH, was a great man, and a great friend! I remember seeing Jason playing ridiculous things on a guitar, whilst playing with a yoyo! Absolutely outrageous talent! God bless, and keep you safe! 🙏
I am so sorry to hear about your mom i had a serious situation when my mom came down suddenly with dementia and i moved my mom up to the small mountain town i was living and running my small business in . It was the best 4 and a half years i spent with my mom in many ways until the disease progresses to the point they cant take care of even the basic functions of living and i had to be the parent in several ways . My mom was diabetic and i could see the correlation between blood sugar levels and certain behavior. Totally hear "Without You" from VH3 near the end of his playing segment. Awesome to watch this and super sad at the same time for many reasons. Thanks for posting.
Wild to see Eddie nervous and not sure what to play. It's an awkward setting though when you're sitting in a room with people watching you as opposed to being on stage. There's no other guitar player that I have looked up to so much as this man. To imagine that Rolling Stone put him at number 8 for it's 100 greatest guitarists of all time. No other player has been so influential. RIP to the King.

The thing is that Jason Becker was capable of doing amazing things in a short period of time. It was enough to show he was a virtuoso guitar player with an incredible talent to play anything. He also has proved that it's not only about his playing, but the music that he has inside. It's too bad he got that desease, but in only a few years he become a guitar legend for the years to come... not many people can do that...

A few folks commented on the riff that Ed plays from 2:30 toward 3:12-That's " One I Want " from the VH3 album. LOVE how Ed is using a Steve Morse pick during the video and references Steve Lukather's pick at the beginning. Great video!
And he plays 'Without You' from about 5:30 onward. Interesting to think that those riffs potentially could have been used with Roth had he stuck around after Best Of vol.1.
Ironically, this is better than the finished product. It’s the same drill with that clip of him playing Amsterdam. It’s better without the vocals, stepping on his guitar.
So, this is what made Edward great. I have to imagine this is what he did for 6, 8, or 10 hours a day and just play around. Interesting to see him do some of his Fair Warning stuff in slow(er) motion so people can see it wasn’t just slapping around, but a method to the madness. Love seeing it. Thanks for sharing!

No, pure crap would come out of these hands. I did take some drum lessons, and really enjoyed that. Some bands were nice, others, not so much. So it's nice to see someone like Ed, that took the time. Movie people, I thought were worse.
Growing up around guitar players, even when I wasn't jamming with them, to just be able to sit and watch them just pick it up and play was awesome. And we're lucky to be able to see one of the best who ever did it just sit and jam with it. Love the vid.
