Really good sound and looks, great demo and playing. Thanks for spending time one clean channel, so many demos are about distortion and gain when an electric guitars real sound is on the clean channel. Gary Moore stated this, he wouldn't buy a guitar that didn't sound good clean and even unplugged.
I have a Classic, too, which is my favorite guitar, but I ordered a blueberry burst Studio to add to the collection. I think the BB Pros sound different enough from the 60's BB's in the Classic to justify getting one. Or at least that's my excuse! :)
@@timholtguitar6999 Just got it a little bit ago and first impression is that this is an incredible guitar! The fit and finish is spot on. Setup is nearly perfect (gotta intonate a couple of strings slightly and condition the fretboard). The blueberry burst color is beautiful. The bound fretboard with nibs feels really nice, much better than my SG Modern which cost a lot more and has no nibs for some reason. I wasn’t crazy about the BB Pro pickups in the SG but they sound fantastic in the Studio. I think Gibson hit a home run with this one! And definitely get you a P90 LP if you can. They are so nice. I actually converted my Deluxe gold top to a “Standard” by swapping the mini humbuckers for some Mojotone P90’s and changed the control knobs and truss rod cover to match the Standard. Only real guitar nerds would be able to tell. 😀
I've play one several times at the local Guitar Center and love it. Although I noticed the tuners don't keep it in tune as much as I would like. Has anyone upgraded to locking tuners to keep it in tune better? Overall I love the sound quality and how it plays.
The best LP Studio Gibson ever made was the solid white with ebony fretboard, all chrome or gold hardware, push pull split coil 490/498, and no binding. Yes, it happened folks.

You introduce a new gibson studio with a new color gloss finish, binding on the neck , and vintage tuners- a model not seen on any other platform not even the gibson website (this is unlike the other new gibson studio models) And yet for this video (only) you choose not to delve into the details of the model and refer to a non existing link on your website? There is no heel contour like the other new studios. No Grover tuners. And the bluberry gloss finish is also not in the new models. And all for 1599$? I much prefer the tone of Gibson Les Paul custom expensive but worth it. The custom has this warmer organic sound unlike the studio with that annoying nasally sound.

They should have left the studio in the old format.. It looked much better balanced visually with no binding on the neck and body... The bound neck glued into the non bound body looks down right ridiculous. It looks like they glued the wrong neck into the wrong guitar body...This format will make you itch more than ever for a fully bound standard.. It screams unfinished business and not quite at home... The weight relief is just a con.. They did this to save money in the production.. Let's face it,.. who needs weight relief on a les paul studio when the body is already thinner than a standard.. The coil tapping only causes problems in the future with pot crackle and other faults.... To add insult to injury they throw in a lousy super soft gig bag.... I can accept the lack of binding on the older model... But this one is pointless. Just either buy a standard or an older model studio (many of which had a hard shell case)... or go for a high end open book headstock epiphone..
Agreed. Just no value for your money with Gibson these days - $1,599 for that?!? I have both Gibsons and Epiphones - love em both. But, I haven't bought a Gibson in almost 15 years. Check out the PRS McCarty 594 SE standard for $800 new and put it against this Studio - wayyyyyyyyy more value for the money. Plus, McCarty pretty much designed all the 1950s iconic Gibson guitars so that PRS is made to his specs.

Nice to see the binding on the neck. The overall aesthetic looks clean - Sounds great to my ears, as well.
For that kind of coin they should give binding and a hard case. I remember when they only cost around $800-900 new.

My best friend has a 93 white studio with the ebony board. It has yellowed so well! It's truly a dressed down custom.
