@@travismitchell9637 I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since the mint has been going downhill for at least 2 decades, which is the main reason I stopped buying proof sets 20 years ago.
If you bank the coins and invest them then you'll make much more than waiting for their metal content value to rise. 20 years of compound interest adds up fast
Btw the golf item you found is a ball marker clip that is used to mark your golf ball on the putting green. The actual marker was probably not with the clip. It should be magnetic.
Gremlins are awesome!! The Gremlin design was 100 year ahead of it's time. I learned how to drive a stick on my dad's 1976 AMC Hornet. 3 speed on the floor all the way baby!!
I listened to a lot of DK with Jello Biafra in my younger days. That music gives me a headache now that I am older. I liked Rawhide and Nazi punks F... OFF!!
have you ever found any vintage metal Cracker Jack toys?.......Today I was out for 4 hours and dug $4.70 in clad.....and every hole I dug was like opening up a wrapped Christmas gift
That's why I love just skimming the first 4 inches of the ground . To me that's the sweet spot . Haha I've done my share of digging that deep nonsense . But yes I 100% the first 4 to 6 inches are where it's at.
You can’t even afford gas let alone food or rent or bills . Metal detecting . It’s a hobby . It’s fun but definitely not even trying to survive off it 😊
Watching the clad pile up in containers is fun and all, but you would have been far, far better off cashing in the clad over the years and buying silver or even gold coins. Easier to carry, too.
We better hope that don't happen because if it ever becomes that and we all go to digital currency they will have complete control over your life and that just makes me sick to my stomach 👍🦀🇺🇸
Most new detectors can hit deeper stuff. Some detectors hit deeper gold than others. Some detectors hit deeper silver than others and some detectors hit deeper nails than others. Every detector has its pro and cons and strengths and weaknesses. Some days or some sites, metal detectors just cannot be dialed in due to hundreds of variables. Every deep target has 4 common enemies. 1....EMI 2....soil mineralization 3....iron 4....layers of trash above that deep target This is why you should have more than 1 detector or multiple coil options with you on every hunt. Some days the best detectors out there will just refuse to hit targets on certain days and conditions.
If the coin will not go through the coin machine it cannot be tendered for cash. Banks despise metal detecting coins because they can jam the expensive counting machines.
You really don't know what silver coins are worth do you, a silver quarter is worth $5 in melt value or a half dollar is worth $10, then if you find a key date it could be worth hundreds, even thousands. There are key date wheat pennies that are worth hundreds.
Sir, you are a metal hunting beast.
Did you ever metal detect your back yard
As I recall, environmentally damaged coins can be redeemed directly with the Mint, by weight.
Nope not anymore the government stopped that program. I throw out my zincs that our corroded as well.

how long have you been treasure hunting? you must be a very good detectorist.
About 30 years. I learn something every hunt!!
I love this🤙🏻

How do u clean the coins before u cash them in?
I never have cashed coins in. I just throw them in my buckets of coins.
With so the coins you have, I'm wondering how many are with kids more because of mint errors and such
My Mom drove me to the bus stop in the 80’s in our 1974 AMC Gremlin:)

Spectacular video! Great advice and information 🙂 one of the best I've seen yet.
Goodmorning. Subbed
You should check the coins during the bad weather. You may have rare or misprints worth much more than face value
Next to the clash pin, there is a dead Kennedys pin

I find cracker jack toy often. The tiny cars are my favorite! Those days where you smack a big pile clad are awesome.

You can send in your crusty coins that a bank won't take to the mint and they will redeem them.

Jeremy in your opinion what is the deepest detector?

Don't throw away the bad corroded coins. Put them in something and take them on to the bank. They will replace them with new coinage 👍

You have to be dumb to sell silver coins for scrap! You can get good money for them on ebay. I won't sell my coins though...
