Another thing I forgot to mention, the whole writers strike thing could be affecting this whole process of the series. This show I believe came out at the worst time for writers and animators, struggling with the bare minimum right now. Maybe somewhere down the line things will clear (if they ever do) and get better writers for this series. Plus, I’ve heard that the animators behind this are actually just starting out as big animators for companies like this, so give them some slack too while you’re at it? Yeah, thank you for you positivity for G5. There's just to much negativity for G5 in MLP community. I usually watch criticism review on g5 video but at some point, I just had to stop watch one. Especially one most more or less bring the same criticism.
I suspect Hasbro originally intended MYM to be the core show - G5 premiered on Netflix and they clearly threw their budget at MYM's 3D animation, not TYT. But, Netflix's animation landscape is very, *very* crowded. Also kids are spending more time on personal devices where UA-cam is king. Therefore, its quite likely TYT is performing better than MYM (especially when balanced against the budget), so Hasbro has shifted their focus. In otherwords, G5 got caught up in a cultural shift from Streaming to Social Media, just like how G4 got caught up in a cultural shift from Cable Television to Streaming. G4 was created to bolster their cable channel The Hub, but out lasted The Hub. Likewise, G5 seems to have been created for Netflix, but is likely to outlast Hasbro's Netflix partnership through TYT.
Not with Hasbro is announcing that eone is selling to lionsgate so maybe just maybe G5 will be alot different than we expected next year for I hope for the best
I think MYM is literally called that way, because is, on a collateral way, the path of misty (the actual protagonist of this part, maybe) to get her cutie mark and get rid of opaline.
My greatest problem with G5 is that the worldbuilding is too small compared to G4. Their world building is literally limited with 3 towns. The main problem is mostly because G5 is connected to G4, while authors don't have rights for G4. I think that correct decision for the authors is to resolve the problems with copy rights, and to make a main focus in a new series on the worldbuilding. Like mane 5 can explore the old Equestria, outside their home in a new series
to solve this problem of the lack of fantasy in the technological world it would be the Mane six traveling to other places in Equestria on adventures since they are already going to the land of dragons, it would be really cool to see the Changelings and the griffins from G5

I hope you’re right. Make Your Mark being “book one” of G5. I’m pretty darn critical of G5, but I am super invested so far... Mostly in seeing the 3D artstyle improve with each chapter. When it’s at its best, it’s very pretty. But I’m curious to see what G6 holds, knowing that there is concept art out there for a gorgeous and fascinating show that was- for some reason -passed on by Hasbro. Either way, I’m excited to see the future of MLP.

I get the impression that MYM isn't so much cancelled as it is just ending, like it's reaching its planned ending. Cancelled would imply execs going "nope, stop it now" whereas MYM is reaching the end of its story and then they just go "and that's done".
TYT season 1 actually finished production back in 2022, that’s why each episode says copyright 2022 in the end. So with that in mind, TYT getting renewed before MYM isn’t that surprising.

I'm still loving both MLP G5 and G4 all together. MLP G5 could be a basic, new, being such younger and trial and errors like G4 but despite of many G4 fans still hating G5 and refusing to accept of kind of changes and lack of a whole judgements and opinions towards G5 but however all people needs to tell a whole truth about kind of changes they had and right now, G5 is getting far from over. It could be more than sorry what it going to be.
The only reason why many G4 fans are hating on G5 is because at the end of G4 everyone was now living in harmony then when the G5 movie came along all the hard work Twilight and her friends did to have harmony was ruined because in the movie everyone was now unequal. I just think My Little Pony: Make Your Mark is season 1 (yes all 6 chapters are all season 1) and the next 3D focus will be Season 2 and then that ends and the next 3D focus is Season 3 so on and so fourth.
It is possible that we might get a second series after MYM, and maybe hopefully it will go to a new streaming or television since we know Netflix is not going too well lately. I think my issues with TYT isnt about the duration of the episodes rather than the absurd amount of sound effects and music in the background. It definitely feels like that cocomelon and other obnoxious shows rather than even like Bluey which has a slower pace for being only 8 minutes long.

Better job at writing? Sorry but I don't agree. I mean in many episodes there were fart jokes. One thing that I liked about MLP was that it never arrived to do such childish and stupid humor, that is why I really am praying for make your mark to continue, because I could not stand tell your tale as the main series, both for stories and artstyle

I don't think the solution to make things less confusing for certain people is to have a new show with a new subtitle, even if it is a continuation of the old one. Also, while high fantasy is definitely better than...I guess urban fantasy, that is definitely not my beef with G5. No, my issue is G5's writing, from characters, to worldbuilding, to general plot. The lack of great music (besides that one Opaline song) doesn't help either.
@@AlexandraPlotnikova1 Definitely an improvement over most prior G5 stuff. I'd classify them as good, rather than great though, as they not only rely too heavily IMHO on trying to instill feels, but they're still short of the genius compositions of Daniel Ingram. I don't have a defined metric for truly great MLP songs, but while I hum many G4 tunes to this day, there's only one G5 tune that I sometimes hum, because the vast majority certainly serve their moment, but have yet to really stick with me. I think the harmonies still need some work too, though I admit that they too are also improving. Who knows, maybe eventually we will get a chapter where all the tracks are bangers that have the staying power of some of the G4 greats. I would certainly like that, as for better or worse, G5 is our only Pony franchise right now.

For me, 5G, it's not bad, there is potential, but it's not 4G, it's not worth comparing them. They have separate pros and cons. Why don't I like 5G?. The biggest problem is that it is connected as a continuation of 4G and EVERYTHING that Mane 6 has achieved has COLLAPSED and even become even worse than 4G began. If it were a separate generation like the previous 3, then there would be fewer problems. But do you people think about it when you praise 5G over this question: won't it happen again with 6G?.

It's not the end of My Little Pony all together, Maybe Hasbro will come out with G6 and I'm assuming that it might possibly be a Reboot of G4, Time will tell.
Either would likely be preferable to what we have now...though it's hard to say if a G6 would be any better given the sound of things. There's a chance the future of MLP is what we have now, which is mediocre filler that at least serves the purpose of filling the void of pony content, but will never be much greater than that. A G6 would just be all that but with new characters and a new setting.

I dont see a future for G5 if they only stick to 5 minute shorts. I can barely recall any interesting event or character development from Tell Your Tale. They either need to rewrite TYT to 20 minute series focused on adventures and lore or come up with a new 2D show that would fill that FiM gap and isn't that expensive to make like Make Your Mark. 3D is really not good for this show if they can't afford the Movie quality. And they will never invest in that quality so better to just create cheaper 2D series and invest in writers.
Actually, there is that one Alicorn episode (I think episode 15 of TYT) that is the most character development Sunny has ever gotten. Five minute shorts aren't really built for that kind of storytelling though, so it's understandable that most character development would be in MYM...what scant character development there is period, that is. For the most part though, TYT really is just UA-cam filler.

Many animators on Twitter are listing MYM as work they previously worked on, implying that the series may be finished.

i mean i guess-? yet at the same time, we lose what is fantasy and instead just get a show about horses with tech. nothing all that special-. and this is supposed to be a show about _magic_ and other fantasy elements, which I am seeing they’re getting to, thankfully, in the show. there just needs to be a good balance between the two so then it isn’t just _real life but ponies._
MLP make your mark is saved
I think my issues with TYT isnt about the duration of the episodes rather than the absurd amount of sound effects and music in the background. It definitely feels like that cocomelon and other obnoxious shows rather than even like Bluey which has a slower pace for being only 8 minutes long.

I like MYM but I think TYT does a better job at storytelling and writing the characters (except izzy) and ya the art style is atrocious but the animation is cleaner then MYM
Better job at writing? Sorry but I don't agree. I mean in many episodes there were fart jokes. One thing that I liked about MLP was that it never arrived to do such childish and stupid humor, that is why I really am praying for make your mark to continue, because I could not stand tell your tale as the main series, both for stories and artstyle

@@IzzyMoonbow648 cannot deny some episodes of tell your tale are good but the one where farts appear are just awful. I mean it has some good episodes but I don't think it has the potential to be a main focus series. Unless the change the animation style and try inserting lore

I don't think the solution to make things less confusing for certain people is to have a new show with a new subtitle, even if it is a continuation of the old one. Also, while high fantasy is definitely better than...I guess urban fantasy, that is definitely not my beef with G5. No, my issue is G5's writing, from characters, to worldbuilding, to general plot. The lack of great music (besides that one Opaline song) doesn't help either.
The lack of great music? What about Mane Family and It All Takes Time from chapter 5?
@@AlexandraPlotnikova1 Definitely an improvement over most prior G5 stuff. I'd classify them as good, rather than great though, as they not only rely too heavily IMHO on trying to instill feels, but they're still short of the genius compositions of Daniel Ingram.
I don't have a defined metric for truly great MLP songs, but while I hum many G4 tunes to this day, there's only one G5 tune that I sometimes hum, because the vast majority certainly serve their moment, but have yet to really stick with me. I think the harmonies still need some work too, though I admit that they too are also improving. Who knows, maybe eventually we will get a chapter where all the tracks are bangers that have the staying power of some of the G4 greats. I would certainly like that, as for better or worse, G5 is our only Pony franchise right now.
@@AlexandraPlotnikova1those arent great songs. a improvment from before yes, but easily forgettable and not as near as good as g4s music was, and thats not even me purposely tearing g5 down. the songs were just better, memorable and sung beautifully. I enjoy g5 but the songs are one of the worst parts imo

For me, 5G, it's not bad, there is potential, but it's not 4G, it's not worth comparing them. They have separate pros and cons.
Why don't I like 5G?. The biggest problem is that it is connected as a continuation of 4G and EVERYTHING that Mane 6 has achieved has COLLAPSED and even become even worse than 4G began.
If it were a separate generation like the previous 3, then there would be fewer problems.
But do you people think about it when you praise 5G over this question: won't it happen again with 6G?.

Here is what I think hasbro should do. In advneture time the lich hand fell into every universe say his hand fell into equestria, the lich absorbed equestrian magic got stronger and caused ponys to fight, twilight said get rid of all magic and he will be weaker they did the lich was far weaker then using magic artifacts not effected by the magical removal they traped the lich, now with magic returned he returns , adventure time my little pony cross over would be the perfect toy,
They crossed over with transformers so why not
It's not the end of My Little Pony all together, Maybe Hasbro will come out with G6 and I'm assuming that it might possibly be a Reboot of G4, Time will tell.
Either would likely be preferable to what we have now...though it's hard to say if a G6 would be any better given the sound of things. There's a chance the future of MLP is what we have now, which is mediocre filler that at least serves the purpose of filling the void of pony content, but will never be much greater than that. A G6 would just be all that but with new characters and a new setting.
A G4 Reboot could happen

I would hope it would get handled by the right people though, or it will run a great series into the ground, in which case I'd rather an entirely new series be made instead, because I wouldn't care if that gets ruined anymore than I care that Hasbro is ruining G5...which is that it will still suck if subpar pony content continues to be the only pony content, but at least we can keep having fun chats about why it sucks. Also, subpar pony content is, at least to me, better than no pony content.

I guess there are things I like about G5 too, but liking something doesn't mean I love it or that I can't admit it's a step down from what came before...even though I suppose it's also accurate to say that G4 is an outlier, and G5 is actually above average by MLP standards... Hmmm...maybe mediocrity is what MLP is supposed to be.
I like that generation 5 is much more realistic than generation 4 because so many people kept on saying my little pony is so childish with princesses and stuff but gen 5 shows technology and a bit more realistic on the friendship part whereas FIM have so many episodes that are so unrealistic on friendship 😢 that’s what made me cringe about. I like generation 5 more because I enjoyed all the episodes despite FIM great episodes but I don’t like all of the episodes in FIM

I dont see a future for G5 if they only stick to 5 minute shorts. I can barely recall any interesting event or character development from Tell Your Tale. They either need to rewrite TYT to 20 minute series focused on adventures and lore or come up with a new 2D show that would fill that FiM gap and isn't that expensive to make like Make Your Mark. 3D is really not good for this show if they can't afford the Movie quality. And they will never invest in that quality so better to just create cheaper 2D series and invest in writers.
Actually, there is that one Alicorn episode (I think episode 15 of TYT) that is the most character development Sunny has ever gotten. Five minute shorts aren't really built for that kind of storytelling though, so it's understandable that most character development would be in MYM...what scant character development there is period, that is. For the most part though, TYT really is just UA-cam filler.
Excuse me but sorry for saying this but Hasbro is announcing that eone is selling to lionsgate so maybe that will be alot different for G5 next year
