Bali was my dream destination for 10+ years and I'm so glad I finally got to go for a week! Thanks to everyone who talked to me for this video. It was truly inspiring to have these conversations and get a glimpse into what the Bali lifestyle is like. One day in the future, I'll be on my own digital nomad journey :)
To the viewers who want to be a digital nomad someday - you got this!!! It's entirely doable and living in places like Bali is actually quite affordable. You should be able to have an amazing lifestyle while spending 1-2k per month. Have a great day! -Charlie

Digital nomads have a terrible reputation in Bali. Most don't even pay taxes which you're supposed to in Indonesia. If you're going to take advantage of a less developed country you should pay your respect and fees.
edit: TAX IS NOT 2.5% in INDONESIA IDK WHERE SHE GOT HTAT FROM

All of the people interviewed don't have jobs that help them build wealth except the guy with the SaaS company. The engineering girl making $30,000 Euro per year is a joke. She is significantly underpaid. Any company paying her market rate would not let her work remotely like that. I work in the field so I should know. The OnlyFans girl is probably taking 5-10% management fee. This equates to $2,500 - $5,000 per month. They are all sacrificing long time security for short time pleasure. There is nothing wrong with this. We should be honest about it and not sugar coat it.

      Hey Charlie,
So glad to hear you had an amazing time in Bali! It's definitely a special place.
I'm really inspired by your digital nomad aspirations. It's totally doable, and I'm sure you'll have an amazing time along the way.
Here are a few tips from my own experience:
      * Start by building a strong online presence. This will help you attract clients and employers, and it will also make it easier to work remotely.
      * Be patient and persistent. It takes time to build a successful digital nomad career. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately.
      * Network with other digital nomads. There are many online and offline communities where you can connect with other people who are living the digital nomad lifestyle. This can be a great way to learn from others and get support.
I wish you all the best on your digital nomad journey!
      Best,
      Paul

Achieving success hinges on the steps you actively take toward it. Accumulating wealth involves cultivating positive habits, such as consistently setting aside money at intervals for robust investments. Financial management, often avoided by many, can later become a haunting issue. My hope is that anyone reading this finds success in their journey!

I wouldn't necessarily take what some of these people say at face value. The young black software entrepreneur was pretty straightforward about saying that his business brought in $1M in annual revenue, but that's totally different than actual profit. So he didn't really answer the question. A lot of the younger people were just marketers for OnlyFans and I personally wouldn't consider the marketing side something that is adding value to society, even if it pays well I wouldn't consider it enriching and rewarding. I mean, you're convincing men to pay for something that they can get for free. Like the guy who talked about how important it was to "find the right people" after talking about how his favorite place to meet people was at the gym because he found "like-minded people" who "care about staying fit". Apparently, that was his only criteria for "the right people". A lot of these people probably spend all day at the gym, work far less than they claim, and earn far less than they claim. A lot of them don't have their lives together like they claim. Don't forget the guy who stays healthy by avoiding gluten!

    • @budrager
      @budrager 7 місяців тому

@@efexzium Yes a lot of digital nomads come from, well maybe not even rich but above-average income families. These parents might have made their own dreams come true at some point, and will raise their kids with the mindset that they must also make their dreams come true. In most cases their parents have achieved enough financial independence that these kids never even think about the idea of having to financially help out or take care of their parents at any stage, so they can focus entirely on their own needs and wants. The parents will also be able to give them solid advice on finance and business, from their own experience. On top of that, if anything goes wrong they can often rely on their parents for help, such as a quick interest-free loan or they can return home for a few months if their plans fail. It's from this position that many digital nomads operate, their parents can offer them a certain peace of mind.

There's only hope in this world Francisco when people return to fully submit to God, no longer want to fight wars, show love and compassion and eliminating poverty comes BEFORE making a profit. That's what I have learned over several decades as a capitalist. Currently the wealthy are getting wealthier, the poor are growing in size globally, atheism is growing worldwide among the youth and there are wars all around the world over resources. Looks like something very big is about to happen to the commercial/residential real estate and financial markets worldwide as well.

i have lived in Bali 25 years, longer than most of the people being interviewed have been alive. When I first got here, Canggu was a tiny sleepy village full of tice fields and dirt roads. I made a lot of money exporting Indonesia made products to DIY companies around the world. Now retired, I moved away from the crazyoness of the south (seminyak, kerobokan, canggu etc) as it is just not my cup of tea, the traffic is insane, and there are too many people. Now living high in the mountains in a small farming village in a beautiful wooden house overlooking the sunrise over Mt Agung.
Good luck to all the youngsters down south, But I wouldn't go back there for all the tea in China.

Corruption is rampant in our contry and the idea that is "foreigners fault" is very basic, the problem lays way deeper than that, there have been great conections, much education and learning from both worlds, the world is a big family and thos who want to evolve are doing so, indonesians and foreigners are taking the chance and ispiring eachother, Ive seen it with my own eyes, most who complain are thos who do nothing to improve themselves, the world is ours, all of us humans.

So all these people say do what you want or move to Bali or do this and that …
I think we ignore an important fact. All these people in the video were from australia, America or a well developed country. First of all I live in australia I grew up here and I have been to Bali many times and thinking to start a business in Jakarta in the future. I have a friend in Jakarta who lives a good life has a good business only invested $80,000 or something. In australia most people I know make between $70k-$120k so if they want they can start a business in Indonesia any time if they have the right idea, but can someone let’s say from Afghanistan where form parents are from to move to Bali and start a business? Because not a lot of people in Afghanistan have $80k and they may not even get a visa to start a business lol. And if you graduated from a university in Afghanistan can you find in Bali and work for a big company? No you can’t! All these guys in the video are from the best countries in the world, not everyone can go to Indonesia, start a nice business and live a good life. It’s sad but it’s the truth. In australia there are so many opportunities that anyone can save up $80000k and move to Indonesia to start a business and have at least 5-6 employees if they want to do so. Yo! This was awesome! 2 of the interviewees I really liked! 1. The guy in the bar or restaurant from LA, who was the fashion designer. He said some major things I resonate with 100%. Yo man please do another one of these videos. The 2nd person was ola I think her names was.. first off she was gorgeous, like her energy and she seemed very open minded and also had some great advice.

I will guess the foreigners are mostly aware of that fact that’s why I find out that there’s no trend of them speaking about it or blatantly making it a highlight of conversation on local youtubers here, unless they’re interviewed by foreigner itself, for example this video

This man is spot on. I moved to Brighton 5 years ago because it was my favourite city in UK. Being able to step out your front door and already be in a location that inspires you is a massive cheat code.
That said, the allure of my city has worn off a bit. Bali could be a great next option.

Good video man, I thought to chip in a tip I believe would make your Q&A type videos more engaging.
Cut the video such that all the Q&As on a single topic is in one segment.
Rather than finishing with one person first, and then repeating the whole thing with the next person.
Noah Kagan does this beautifully, and his Q&As don't feel drawn out
    Cheers mate

Those are some astronomical sums of money for people just a few years into their working lives. I can imagine the odd person gets very lucky, but after watching this video one might think that Bali is full of people making millions a year at the tender age of 22. It takes most people years to gain the education and experience to make serious money. Power to them if they are in the small minority, but it seems a little suss.
