Nothing interesting ever pops up when i'm just wandering around but then I try to do this stupid challenge everything spawns,cougars,gangs,wolves and more.

It's just like GTA Vice City. When you kill angry pedestrians or regular civilians, just couple of bucks drop on the ground, but while you're on mission that you're in a hurry, you can be a millionaire with the money that drops on the ground from the enemies you kill.
When i thought i did it, for some reason it didint count so i recreated the blackwater massacre
Same thing happened to me just now. I timed it on my phone and it said i did it in 12 mins but still nothing.

Little Traveller I saw one but I wanted to complete the challenge, so after I failed it, I went back to the spot but it wasn’t there

the fortune teller dude almost ruined it for me right when i was headed into blackwater he slowed down my horse and when i finished i went back to where he was to put a couple buck shot in his chest but he was gone....bet he knew he dun goofed.
I got ambushed by the skinners and got knocked off my horse... so stupid.
Second time my horse derped over a tiny lip in the path and fell....
third time a cougar came and my moron horse decides to be afraid and bucks me.. this is ridiculously stupid.

Hit a guy’s wagon halfway into the bridge south of Riggs station
Second time:
My horse decided not to jump over the fence at Beecher’s Hope and hit it face first, making me fall off
Third time:
Tripped over the tiniest rock, not even joking
I feel the pain. Bumped to ducking horses near blackwater three times.
1 time rock size of hat
2 time horse won't jump over fence
3 Fu....g wolf pack on rails 2 seconds before black water.
4 time some asshole start gun fight
All that right before BW... Fu game maker....
And every time some fucker try to start race, and horse slow down... FU RS!!!
I tripped over 3 bounty hunters and 5 strangers just because they didn’t move, they just stop right there, my horse touches the other one by an inch and fucking WOOOOOOSH, before I know I’m on the ground with my horse doing 50 fucking backflips

Hardest part of this challenge is staying on your horse as the nags in this game have a suicidal tendency
They would have a suicidal tendency if they weren't bucking you down. Stop creating excuses and get good.

Start the run in the morning.. I initially started the run in the evening, arrived in Blackwater at night and the cougar showed up same thing happened to me
that almost happened to me but luckily got away before the cougar got me knocked off
Just completed with Arthur riding my fully bonded Missouri Fox Trotter. To confirm, you absolutely CAN pause during the run to check your map, set waypoints to plot your route, and it will not affect your run whatsoever.
I completed with the Fox trotter but With Arthur. In chapter 2. The Fun of Fox trotter is The wolves and bear doesn't do shit to her unless they are touching distance. Wonderful horse.

I Got the Black Arabian in chapter 2 from saint denis couples and I hated this shit. It's just braindead Speed merchant nothing else. Coward and Too Lazy to jump even tiny obstacles.
I am glad Fox trotter can be found in Albert Mason side quest with little bit of trickery and Hard work in chapter 2. Make the game experience so much better
I used a Turkoman. Will be using it again in my current second playthrough with Arthur. They have max health which is perfect to dodge skinners and pinkertons during your escape.
@@ChromeMan04 I switched from the MFT to a golden Turkoman, and it's a fantastic horse, too. Can't go wrong with either breed. 👍🏽

7. small hills
8. accidentally touching the water
9. random event mission trying to start
10. losing my sense of direction
11. not finishing in time
How you guys come up with so many problems in a easy challenge like that? I completed it with Arthur and Pinkertons were firing bullet rain on me, couger, wolf and Bear and still it took only 2 try. First time I fell off cause of couger and next time I immediately killled it with Sniper Rifle equipped.

After hours and hours of trying in January I literally put it off until yesterday. Took me 1 hour. And then all #10 took was 3 all-ins at poker to win 3 hands. I'll fucking hate dominoes for the rest of my life lol.

Buell doesn't really have good stats, I'm sure you can do it with Buell but doing it with a better horse stats wise would be easier.

Logan Flood Well I tried as Arthur, but ended up dying. You could just overload on tonics and hope you can heal before you die but you could just use the New Austin glitch (it’s on this channel, search it up) and did it with no police.
Do it when you have the mission to save Sean available.

Keep in mind you have 17 minutes. In this video, it's accomplished in just over 12 minutes. It's not as big a rush as it seems. Train on the bridge? Let it pass. Still doable.
One of the best pieces of advice. If you rush it, you're more likely to crash into something.
Man if thats 12 min I can't for the life of me understand how my first attempt didnt make it. Pretty much flawless. Had a couple spots where I slowed down for a sec but other than that no problems. Now this is assuming the info I got saying that when you pause the game it pauses the clock? My next bid I went non-stop just to be safe...
*edit* meant to mention, what I think messed up my first bid was when I was pausing/unpausing one time I accidentally hit online. i didnt go online but it did switch to the window.
@@TonyTroiano08 my first attempt didn't register too and I later found out that you MUST take the bridge near emerald ranch. If you even touch the dried creek bed, the game will count it as water. Do you think that's what happened? Time really isn't an issue. I used the fastest horse in the game (there are several) with the speed boost perk you get from racing the lady and it must have taken me no more than 12 minutes.

I literally was like 1 min away my first time thinking I did it great and some wagon blocking a bridge got me because I was too cocky and tried to squeez in between them
IF THIS STRATEGY ISN'T WORKING FOR YOU:
don't cut off the trail at 11:32. Follow the road the long way to Blackwater. You will make it in time. Something about being that close to the water down by the river can trigger the game to think that you've touched water.
Staying on the road worked for me after 4 failed attempts trying the path in the video.

Do this challenge with a prisonner on your horseback ( from bounty hunter activity) . Instead of bring him back , do this challenge and you get no hostile activity during you travel .
No predators , no gang , no pinkertons in the great plains area even with Arthur.
Doesn’t bounty carcass add extra weight on horse making it slower , sir?

This works, I just did it in chapter 2, got the bounty poster in St Denis, the guy is in the fort right near Van Horn, shot him and carried him the whole way no problem. Just don't go too far into Blackwater, soon as you see that you did the challenge turn around and head to St Denis, if the police see you in Blackwater it will fail you.
Ahhh my god I wish I hadn't completed all of the bounty hunter missions already.

Completed with my level 3 bonded black Arabian. Survived a skinner brother ambush and managed to stay on horseback when a cougar chased me near Beecher hope. Good video 👍
just in case anyone is wondering if sudden rain during your run and galloping puddles will forfeit your challenge..... please note that rain has no effect, so no need to restart your challenge. just follow the guides directions from this channel and all is good. did it on a first go round.

I was almost close to Blackwater then this motherfucking cougar came out of nowhere and made my horse abandon me.
The cougar spawn outside of Beecher's Hope is way too close to the road.
just used this map and did it, feel like i wanna smoke a whole pack of cigs after that and I don't even smoke. straight cancer of a challenge
Finally did this, thanks for letting us know where to cross the rivers.
Some Laramie thugs stopped me near the lake but I just charged past them and reached Blackwater in time.
After significant trial-and-error I was able to pull it off as Arthur by chugging special health cures. Two very important things aren't mentioned in this video:
- you CANNOT pause, enter cinematic mode, or open your map during the run
- you MUST use the bridge crossing near/past Emerald ranch. Even if you go through a dry bit of the river, the game counts it as going through water.
Also; if you're attempting it glitchless as Arthur - watch your compass for where the groups of lawmen spawn. If they are dead ahead of you on the trail, circle around them as much as you can. If you let them get ahead of you or surround you then they will cut you down in seconds. Sometimes it can even be beneficial to slow down enough that the group chasing you can still see you, as it prevents extra posses from spawning ahead of you.

Got to strawberry and had to go through town to avoid water. Horse ran into a pole trying to avoid man. Was so sad that as John I jumped in the river, drowned and then revived and shot up the whole town

Thank you for doing this video. I've tried it twice on my own and either hit a rock or ran into a gang. I saw this video and rode with my phone playing this video beside me to help guide me. I made it! I thought I was gonna touch water when you did that short cut, but it worked. So thanks!
Just completed it with my race horse. All you really have to do once you get close to Blackwater is make sure to keep using potent medicine. It kept me alive during the Pinkerton's automatic aim onslaught. If you can don't follow the main road when you're close to Blackwater.
Needed this before now i failed
The best time to do this ride as Arthur is during the availability of Javier’s mission in Blackwater. You encounter far fewer lawmen than if you do the challenge after that mission. It is practically a cakewalk. The key is still to stay off road after you get to the fork in the road between the A and the L in Tall Trees. Good luck.
Or right after that mission. I didn't get any pinkertons on me after I did that mission so I roamed around Tall Trees and Great Plains
I FINALLY MADE IT! Took me around seven tries... Turns out the use of cinematic mode ruins your attempt. I used it around Emerald ranch to make sure I didn't strafe from the road and into a puddle. At least I think that not using cinematic camera was the contributing factor for me finally succeeding. I also followed an advice to ride INTO Van Horn until the black and white "You're in Van Horn-sign thingy" appeared on screen. I came from Annesburgh, made sure the "sign" appeared, made a u-turn and THEN I started running. Also, according to where I found these tips, getting robbed (I often encounter this in the curve at the "nj" in Owanjila) will fail your attempt. I can't tell you if this is true though. I also haven't encountered the robbery when I have tried to ride from VH first thing in the morning. Anyway, good luck to you all!

I was still within the time limit, and I was at Tall Trees, but since Arthur is wanted, I got shot to bits and did all that galloping for nothing.
9th run I passed it. To all the people failing it don't go by the creek like this guy. Wasted almost 2 hours following this method till I timed my runs and realized running by the creek screwed me.Great guide just avoid getting close to the creek

Thank you so much!!! This helped so much. It took me literally so many tries and I almost gave up but once I memorized the path it worked and I did it. Something that helped was placing pins around the map so I knew not to go a different way off the path. Don’t give up!!
The hardest part was not getting killed by the Pinkertons because I did it as Arthur. Costed me a special health cure and several potent health cures just to avoid death. Then I was met with wolves in tall trees. I had to veer off of the trail because more Pinkertons spawned. I was really worried that my horse was going to run into a boulder and launch me off. It was a tremendous weight lifted off my shoulders when I got to the border of Blackwater and saw the Horseman 9 Completed notification!
I was at the final stretch, about between tall trees and Beechers hope, and when I thought I had it, I ride past a tree with a branch sticking out and it hits me right in the damn head and I fall off
This challenge by far is the hardest for me
Edit: Just completed it using the map from RDR2 companion app. Multitasking is required and only just glance at the map for a second to see where you are going so you wont get knocked off your horse or bump into anything. Good luck

Great video. Took me three attempts. First time I stepped in the water by accident when you go by river. Don't know what happened second time.
Third time I rode north of van horn then rode into van horn till the black overhead sign came up saying I was in van horn. Then I started immediately and it worked
I'm sure it has been said earlier in the comments, but there are no items that are necessary to complete this challenge if your White Arabian is maxed on its cores, and you have full bond. Just click L3 every few seconds to praise your horse and its stamina will refill about 1/4 of what you have used.

I managed to complete this challenge as Arthur in Chapter 2: all I had to do was simply to run at faster pace than the Pinkertons and then use a special health cure. Imo this challenge was easier compared to the events of the epilogue since I got ambushed at least 4 times by criminal gangs like Laramies and Skinner Bros.

I tried as Arthur and I think I got auto killed. I had full health and nothing attacking me...
@@Fake_gamer_cat you can't get auto killed unless you go into new austin. you probably got killed by the pinkertons, who have very powerful weapons. but you can actually prevent them from spawning on you by just spamming the extended map button. if you're quick enough, you can get to blackwater without even encountering them
Tip for anyone doing this challenge. Carry a weapon. I reccomend a shotgun or repeater. That way if predators come or enemies and freak your horse out, instead of mashing R3, you can stop for a but and kill the threats

Thanks for the tutorial! I was able to do this in chapter 2 with Fox Trotter. Got bounty of 300 dollars for killing like 50 bounty hunters that just did not want to give up :D I had a lot of fun to shoot them with my dual golden Scofields while on horseback :D

Now I just love watching it for the pure simple fact that its satisfying to watch and listen to. The hoof beats as the horse runs is just so satisfying.
Wtf are u on about
1st Attempt right before black water a deer ran out Infront of me and knocked me off the horse. Got back on made it to black water under 17min regardless. Didn't know falling voids your attempt so I was confused until I watched this video.
2nd Attempt: Almost got clipped by a train before making it to Bards Crossing.
Once at Bards Crossing was half way across bridge then the game decides to send a second train at me. I play chicken with the train and try hard to make it off the bridge before it murders me. I make it by with the skin of my teeth.
Then make it near strawberry after 2 close calls. Seems like every wolf in the game was spawned into existence to get my horse to buck me off. I take out my repeating shotgun and manage to shoot the wolves before my horse bucks me.
At this point starting to think the game has a mind of it's own, AI is becoming sentient and it knows what I'm trying to do and the game is trying it's hardest to prevent me from completing this challenge, so it's throwing everything it has at me. Not even trying to be funny I truly believe it knows.
Next, not even 1min later right before Owanjila Dam 3 men come out from around A corner my horse stops dead in it's tracks and I have no control over it (I'm on a time schedule, trying to beat a time sensitive challenge. The game knows this). I keep hitting the gallop button and the horse won't move because the game (that I am now starting to think is possessed by a demon) wants me to listen to the dialogue that are coming from these 3 assholes spawned by my red devil redemption possessed game.
It finally let's up and let's me ride through them. They chase me across Owanjila Dam and manage to kill 2 and out run the other.
I noticed in the video the player rides the horse along "upper Montana river" at this point I know the game will do anything to stop me so I dont want to take my chances that close to water so I decide to take my chances in the woods.
I ride through the woods after killing those spawns of game Satan and A man steps out and says something like "we got one light the fires!!!" Then enemies pop up all over my radar. Literally getting shot from every direction.
At this point it's no longer a conspiracy the game is doing everything in it's power from preventing me from achieving my goal, it is fact!
I manage to keep riding against the clock and not concentrating on firing at anyone. Two A.I. Satan spawns are on horse back and get Infront of me. I knew I had to take them out. So I dead eyed them both and dodged their horses just barley. Then manage to escape the rest of the red dots and I am coming up to the great plains.
Blackwater can't be no more than a couple minutes. I sigh A sign of relief because I am so close.
Then a rabbit runs right by me. I laugh at the little rabbit and think to myself "thank God it's not a deer that knocked me off my horse like last time!" Then a black bear collides into my horse and I do 75 front flips and land on my head.
Guessing the black bear was chasing the rabbit. Gunna try again just scared what else the game knows and what it will throw at me.
But 3rd times the charm right?

As Arthur, doing it absolutely perfect until I'm about 200 metres from blackwater the law takes me out everytime
I know I was literally 2 fucking sec away I could see every building and I fucking died this is my 6th attempt wish me luck :)
I am surprised that guy in the video didn't encounter any law enforcement in Blackwater, every time I try, at least 3 groups of sheriffs are there, if I manage to escape from first two groups the third group will kill me.

Just did this on my first try. Instead I just went down to San denis using the train tracks all the way till riggs station then i used the bridge owanjila dam bridge as well then cut through the woods. One bear, some rain, laramie gang shooting at me and 15min later I completed it. Thought the rain messed up the run but I figured just keep going as a practice run but it gave it to me anyways

Great video. I ran the railroad tracks all the way to Riggs Station. Pretty much followed your route from there. 16 minutes flat.

It took me 5 tries to do this using the train track route + the route next to Owanjila. I fell off of one of the short bridges around Rhodes, was stopped and attacked by Laramie Boys twice and had 2 head on collisions around Ownajila.
Managed it with 4 mins to spare, but I also encountered some Laramie's at Owanjila who gave me a hard time. Talk about frustrating, screw whoever thought of this challenge.

If you press in the left stick your horse regenerates a bit of stamina. You can do this as much as you want but there's a cooldown
I made sure my horse died on my 3rd attempt
Literally got thrown from it for no reason whatsoever
If you have been trying to cut south of Emerald Ranch, you may unknowingly crossing Dewberry Creek. Even though it is mostly dry, I suspect that is what I having a problem with. North of Emerald Ranch there is a small road bridge that you can use (just above the 'E' in Emerald on the map)

For those of you who can't complete it perhaps making it under 17 minutes, try to not press pause while making it.
Does seriously pressing pause count towards the time limit?

@@falloutghoul1 I think so! I try it a bunch of times pressing pause and didn't count (and yes I did it in time, I had my phone chronometer on) and then I did it without pressing it and it counted! Don't know about the autosave prompts though...
I paused a couple of times and still made it to Blackwater under 17 mins.

I’ve pressed pause literally ever 30 seconds and didn’t interfere with my streak. I just kept setting up waypoints and then pause and set another waypoint. Did it my first shot doing that method.

Just got Horseman 9 (Dec '20). A few heads up:
- R* may have added extra law men right where Arthur is @ 11:06, and the 2 hairpins right before the straight seem to be the spawn trigger.
- Using a route that hugs the Upper Montana River @ 11:33 no longer works (for me at least). I've made at least 5 attempts into Blackwater and each time the attempt was unsuccessful. Instead, follow the path and turn right towards the forest was what did the trick for me.
- Minty Big game + at least 10~12 potent health tonics are a minimum requirement to sponge the potential damage.
I’ve literally done it twice now but the game won’t give it to me.

You can skip a large part if you make the jump over a small broken bridge between the Z and the A of ELIZABETH of the map. Saves a few minutes.
Furthermore, I started going onto the tracks at Van Horn, then south until road crosses the tracks. Ride over the bridge above FLUWATER on the map. Continue east until the M of LEMOYNE, then straight east off road until you reach the last train tracks where Lemoyne borders New Hannover.

Save before you this that way you can load the save and keep the horse it's 450 from valentine but I still havnt pulled it off when actually doing the run for some reason I'll just wait until I'm playing as John
I made it to the final stretch to blackwater. Wolves showed up and my horse bucked me off. Love my life dude.
I just completed this on my second playthrough. John took a fully bonded Missouri Fox Trotter, and they had to swerve through some trees after running into a Skinner Brothers ambush, with one of them following John all the way to Beecher's Hope.
EVERY time I do this challenge one of these things will spawn and stop me from completing it:
Cougars
Wolves
Trains
Wagons
People on horses
Random encounters like wagon hold ups and ambushes
This challenge is really good at testing my patience

Some of this is a route I've never taken. I'm curious on trying it out. I usually make this run in about 10-13mins. There's another opening to that cut @11:33 further up that main trail that will put you on a cliff with a clear path into the plains. In case this one fails you for being too close to water.
I never knew about this glitch. I also run this as Arthur early in the game, so I run into bounty hunters after crossing into Tall Trees. I like the thrill of being hunted by them though haha. W/o this glitch snipers won't get you when entering Tall Trees up to Blackwater. That only happens if you go further south towards Manzanita Post. Bounty hunters is the only thing that happens to Arthur during this ride if you don't do the Chapter 4 glitch.
Theres always a group of men waiting for me as soon as i enter blackwater after that winding road...what the hell
I was able to complete this challenge without using the glitch. I took shortcuts through The Heartlands and took the bridge to West Elizabeth and Owanjila damn to be able to make it to Tall Trees and had 8 minutes to spare to get into Blackwater. That is way more than enough time to make it to the town and kill any Pinkertons as needed along the way. All I can say is, just take a dead eye tonic as you ride into Tall Trees. They don't spawn there as much as they do near Blackwater, but it's best to prepare so you can kill off any Pinkertons there and around Blackwater.

Appears to be glitched now. As John I've done it under 14 min 6 times and never touched water at all. Even went a slightly longer way than this video (forest part by Beecher).
At least I'm not the only one having trouble with this. I actually remember the entire route off hand because of all the failed attempts. Is there any way past this? 100% completion is just around the corner.

Emerald station, go over the bridge at the other end, this means you will have to go through emerald ranch because the river bed under it counts as water. Also dont pause the game or look at the map, I think that disqualifies you.

So I just completed this with 5 minutes to spare. Don't worry if you there is a train on the bridge, just turn back and wait for it. I waited for the train and got ambushed by a gang outside owanjila and had 5 minutes left. Something I don't see many people comment is to press L3 or left stick to praise your horse as I completed this without a single tonic with my arabian and was halfway down my stamina as i reached blackwater. If you're doing this be careful of the river in west elizabeth that you ride next too as I had a run fail from being too close.

Screw this Ill wait till I'm John. I made it to the outer led circle around Blackwater when 4 Lawmen on horses came at me through the front gate and gunned me down instantly

Made it in my second attempt on a gray Turkoman with lvl 3 bond. In my first attempt, my dumbass fell off the horse and didn't realise the attempt reseted, big brain moment..

I think to complete this challenge you have to avoid the river bed. I had 5 minutes to spare and failed. I didn't dismount and I sure as hell was not knocked off. Idk maybe it is just glitched or this entire route is flawed

Crossing the bridge at emerald ranch is the secret. After completing 6 times, it finally registered once I went across the bridge and not the dry river bed.
Everytime I do it and about to cross into West Elizabeth, I get robbed. this one shouldn't have been no water, its bs.
No need for the prerequisite, just make sure you have alot of health supplies and a fast as fuck horse
I think it's the auto save that can screw you over. That and making sure Van Horn appears on the top screen before you leave.
There is another way of getting to Blackwater. You still cross the train tracks after Flatneck Station but you don't go north past Riggs Station after that. Instead you cross the bridge near Riggs Station and head down south. Near the river is a broken bridge which you can jump. It is riskier but I think it saves some time and is pretty epic.
Maybe it's a translation problem, but in the italian rdr2 it says ride from Blackwater to Van horn
I was so close and then a group of robbers decides to show up and my horse threw me off
I got ambushed by the Laramie gang near the owanjila lake, and I still did it since I had the fastest horse in the game
