It was these kind of challenges that I hated , rather than just rack up 3 disarms over time. It really broke from immersion to run around completing nonsensical tasks like this one.
At least it's better than the ones that are 100% luck - like winning blackjack with 5 cards.

Do u not know how to use the save
You can’t say a word or your voice will help them identify you. That’s another way you get bounties while wearing a mask. Just draw on his chest area and let him say whatever. Wait for him to draw his gun on you, don’t rush the shot cause he will NOT shoot at ya. He’s just gonna assume the same threatening posture you’re taking. Thats when you shoot his gun or hand. Take your time. Don’t rush your aim cause you have plenty time to adjust your aim. I did it with a 6 round revolver. I completed the challenge with 4 rounds left in the chamber.

2.for me it was random chance I had one bullet left and I was able to get the last guy while concentrating the 2nd guy though did do what you said the other 2 were a little more ticked off from that.
The 3rd time I went through the barn I accidentally climbed the ladder and holstered my weapon 🤦🏼♂️🤬
This challenge would be easy if it didn't keep resetting itself.

Heads up to anyone still doing this challenge. If you're struggling to find enemies in the epilogue, don't waste your time with the del lobos. They just straight up almost never drop their guns, I don't know why. So go to hanging dog ranch, take a lancaster. Walk right up to the front gate, they'll start aiming and shooting. I tried this place, it took me a few minutes and I got it done. They drop their weapons almost instantly every time. Just make sure not to reload in the middle like my dumbass kept doing.
TIP: for this challenge and most of the sharpshooter challenges you can use the varmint rifle

Done this is 30 seconds shooting random people riding horses with poison arrows🤷♂️

Well, I tried this challenge today for the first time. All I did, was max out Dead Eye core and yellow circle before going in saloon in Van Horne, I placed myself in the the corner of the saloon to the left of the entrance, facing most of the patrons. I was in First person view (not third) Pointed my Midnight's pistol loaded with express ammo. Turned dead eye on as soon as one guy draw his weapon... mark his hand and waited for another 2 guys to draw their weapons mark their arms(gun) than release the shot . Ran like hell out of the saloon. Bunch of them ran after me, stole a horse and left the area until they stopped searching me. I only had to reload my save once. Got killed the first time I tried and did it on my second try. Wasn't very hard at all, then again I don't play with a controller but with mouse and keyboard, so it's much easier to aim with precision and shoot multiple enemies in one dead eye use.
This was the only method that actually helped me!!! Thank you! I went into the left corner, aimed my volcanic pistol at a guy, waited til at least two guys took out their weapons and marked their hands as well as a third. After that I ran out to my horse and rode away.

Poison arrows! I tried everything but nothing ever worked. However, poison arrows worked like a charm.

Oh thanks dat works. Just simply shot 3 guys with weapon with poison arrows. Don't even have to aim their arms. Much easier than this video
there's also another method go to cornwalls factory, and shoot the guard's rifles out of there hands shoot the butt of the rifle and they drop it I recommend the Lancaster repeater with the scope.

Thank you for pointing out that we cannot use the dead eye after the 1st disarment. For anyone worries about bounty I find a good location for this with no bounty: Butcher Creek (across the little bridge). And no I am not worried about Arthur's honour in this play through
Edit: Others in the comment suggest Van Horn is also a good place however I find the people there are generally quite good shooters. I rather want my opponents to shoot like stormtroopers... And whoever comes up with the idea of using poison arrows is a genius

Fort Wallace is a good place to do this. Just take cover behind the rock outside near the entrance and shoot their arm. After getting it, hop on your horse and get outa there. Took two tries for me.

This worked perfectly for me, for anyone that gets bounties remember that you must avoid the law at all costs so run away every time you shoot and make sure any sherif leaves the area before you return.

Game has had a few updates, remember to aim your weapon regularly because the game will just holster your weapon for no reason if you aren’t doing anything with it.
I tried this way like 5 times...... pain in the ass
I just waited till them damn o'Driscolls tried to ambush me and used deadeye on 3 arms, worked real good.

i did in a ranch near emerald station. just shoot the gun of the holster of 2 guys then run to emerald ranch and disarmed another one in the way.
you should not try this in crowded areas like valentine.
I tried all the other listed tips: just use a bow, craft 14 split shells for your repeater so that it doesn’t reload and you can use a bunch of deadeye. Nothing worked. I watched another video where this guy did it and I got it first try. Only works if your in epilogue I think cause you need access to new austin.
Come into fort mecer from the ne and stop at the crossroads by the rock. Your carcano rifle holds seven rounds and has a good scope. Sit on your horse by the rock and scope aim to the guy in front of fort mercer’s hand. Fire. Run away on your horse about 100 yards or so and walk back up and do it two more times!

Thanks!!! I tried many times but was confused why it would keep resetting on me. I was using dead eye but now I know thats what was resetting the challenge.
You can mount your horse without holstering but you need to do it slowly

Yeah this method works perfectly - although I don’t think it’s necessary to go inside the barn every time. There’s plenty of NPC’s walking around Valentine strapped so you can just wait for one walking past the barn. Sometimes in the barn the armed NPC will spawn with another NPC next to him which can make things more difficult.
Literally the best way to do this challenge don’t look at other methods this one is so easy
Shooting the Hanging Dog Ranch guard holding the rifle 3 times while on horseback works better. It's faster too because you just have to ride away and back each time, shooting him in the arm or gin with a scoped weapon.
Annoying challenge but great strategy- worked like a charm!
Get the gun with 16 rounds and have 0 rounds to reload then you can use dead eye

Carcano rifle, Fort Mercer, guy at the gate…did it less than 1 minute! (saw a video, not my idea)
Shoot his gun while he’s standing still and you’re undetected, run away until they’re no longer shooting at you. Repeat 3 times!

Mine keeps glitching and resetting. I got 5 disarms without reloading and it keeps saying I only got one
One way I did it was by using the Euphoria mods that enable more realistic injuries to npcs, so that way it was more common for them to drop their weapon and bleed out. And the critical spots were more common so I got it done pretty easy

Thank you for this. I tried another persons recommendation of sniping the guards guns at the oil fields and that just didnt work. This worked the first try and only took a few minutes. Ended up with a 5 dollar bounty on the last shot but who cares.

Go to the saloon in Van Horn. All the people carry guns and there's no law. Start some shit and you can hide behind the counter and most of the bullets won't hit you. Some of these folks even shoot eachother. You'll have plenty of time disarming 3 people
You CAN use deadeye. You just can't enter a NEW deadeye in between disarmings, as entering deadeye automatically reloads your gun. But as long as you do all 3 disarmings in the same deadeye, it works just fine.
Easiest way I found was to go to the Kerosene plant and agro the guards to make them draw their rifles and chase me. Then when there are 3 of them fairly close together, equip the varmint rifle, enter deadeye, and place two shots anywhere on each guard's right arm. Two shots guarantees that they drop their guns, and the Varmint rifle is weak enough that it won't kill them. Very easy to reproduce, guaranteed results, no bounty - just mild risk of death!
Go to Rhodes Saloon. Use a pistol. Line up the piano player and one other and aim at the top of their hats in Dead Eye such that the target pip is white not red. Then pick a 3rd target and do the same. Ladies’ hats count.
Wait until dead eye is completely maxed out so you can shoot then pick another target then shoot again all without dead eye ending
Wait like 5 minutes between each shot. It took me by surprise when after the second shot, the lawmen where not back in the upper side of the town so they were able to chase me. And I couldn't flee without ruining my challenge.
EASY and FUN WAY!!
I used a Litchfield and went to VAN HORN and started shooting at the arms, but ONLY at NPCs with a REVOLVER.
You can use items to heal yourself and it doesn't reset the challenge, the important thing is that you don't change or reload the weapon, you CAN ALSO KILL other NPCs without losing the challenge.
Without exaggeration I completed it in 10 minutes, the hardest thing is trying not to die. I lost the challenge only 2 times when I missed too many bullets and when an NPC threw me to the ground.

Went to hanging dog ranch, completed 3 challanges there, on same dead eye I shot 3 dudes arms and disarmed, completed. Killed 7 enemies from horseback, completed. Shot 3 hats of 3 people, completed.
It was so easy and fast, much easier and faster you showed here.

If anyone still find this hard , go to dog haven ranch or something near the stream away from strawberry and go to the entrance. You can see two guards on the entrance. Take one out with a poison arrow in his leg on horseback , by doing this the gang gets alerted and starts shooting at you. Don't reload or switch or open your satchel or collapse or climb. Just hit one on his leg ride away till the red spot disappears from radar come back to the same place you can see the guard you killed respawned. Kill him again with the above steps. Do this 3 times and there you have it.
It's actually really easy.
I now have a 700 bounty in 2 cities because of this challenge
I managed to do this but I’m used to holstering my weapon or reloading it so I made it harder than it’s supposed to be
but he doesnt pull out a gun for me. he just runs away
also you can go to the plains and commit a crime and then go to deadeye mode when the law arrives and shoot their guns off their hand
This method works still I tried it but I waited til night with less people around :)
Every damn time I have to do this challenge I always follow this method, and it just pisses me off because I leave my horse way away from me, I buy a new outfit I've never worn and then use the store's wardrobe to change into something else to get back to my horse to change into my new outfit, I use the volcanic pistol which I never use except for this challenge, and I wear a full-face mask, and even with everything disguised up and hidden, I still end up with a $5 bounty. Yeah right!
Friendly note- dont climb that damn ladder on the way to the rancher it resets it too..
lol I just completed this challenge by "accident"... I was trying to do it just like he showed it in this video but I kept getting caught by some lawmen and it always ended up in a massive shootout and I had to keep escaping valentine and coming back... The Post Office was always on lockdown so I couldn't pay my bounty.. I was just trying it again and got caught by lawmen again, but instead of running away I just let them kill me, there were like 20 of them after me so it would be impossible to escape anyways.. I just said fuck it and spammend my dead eye all over the place and shot them and they killed me right after it. When I respawned it said I just completed that challenge so I must've disarmed 3 of the Lawmen by accident as I just spammed my dead eye all over the place
got lucky with having 2 people with guns on my second time, got it within 5 mins :) Very nice guide!
Or go to van horn and find three men stand next each other and antagonize them until they draw there guns and use the dead eye and shot ther arms (i did' with this trick)
thanks for that. 50% of the "challenges" in this game are frankly idiotic thanks to dumb game mechanics. Thats the problem when they use developers whose balls havent even dropped yet. I still cant get a moose to spawn in the moose spawn spots, there are NO moose in my game apparently, but Rockstar want me to kill 4 more (that dont exist) to complete the last of the trapper clothing. Sleep, look, reload game, look, reload, sleep, Camp, sleep, look, reload, look, sleep some more.. great "game play". Worst and best game ever all rolled in to one.
I was doing the scavenger challenge near rhodes.... used an herbivore bait. A freaking moose spawned and ate it. It is really broken.
Always night time when I attempt to start this challenge, can't see a single holster.

I think It's easier to do it at Emeral Ranch because there are fewer witnesses and cops
I did it with the repeating shotgun and a gang hideout (Fort Mercer in my case).
I'm playing on Xbox and my aim with a controller is not really good. That's why I chose the shotgun.
I just shot them at waist height from a distance the shotgun is not lethal. They dropped their weapons and didn't die with the first shot.
Poison arrows don’t work at all for me. They die they drop the weapon and die right away. Even when i shoot them in the leg
Shooting guns out of ppls hands doesn’t count either. I’ve yet to have one actually count towards the total

Everytime i try to do this, i hit where i'm supposed to hit but the game thinks i killed the enemy when i shot them in the hand, so it's not counting it and it's resetting the kill counter. Same with the poison arrows, I shoot the npc in the leg so you'd expect they'd dropped their weapon but nope, they just straight up die, still holding their gun mind you. I'm staying in ads, (i read somewhere you have to stay in Aim Down Sights), you can stay in dead eye (don't stop it because for some fucking reason the mechanic automatically reloads your gun.)

Tried this with the Murfree brood gang Hide out. 3 guys at the Door but they still somehow hold there Weapons with a Death grip.

I've got like 40 game captures of me hitting rifles pistols etc and the enemy just holds it, shooting more sparks than a zues bolt
Is it just me or like once u get the first disarm everyone esle u try from that point on takes like 3 tries to shoot them cuz for some reason they wont drop gun even though u shot arm 3 times

You CAN use dead-eye but you have to disarm all 3 in one dead-eye or else it counts as a reload
I did this pretty easy the first time i was doing this challenge a couple years ago but it was fucking with me this time. There's a WAY easier way and i got it the first try, just use poison arrows i got it in 20 seconds.

It seems like no matter what I do I can't disarm pistols. I can make enemies drop their rifles with ease, but never the pistols.
So I figured out why! I was only trying it on Lawmen. It turns out that you can only disarm a lawman of their rifle, but not a handgun. This is true for bandits as well.
But random NPCs? You can disarm them of their rifle and pistol very easily. I've even started doing it with throwing knives.
It's a shame lawman/bandits can't have handguns disarmed though.
I managed to disarm an O'Driscoll from his pistol on the Heartlands, but then again, used the Dead Eye for it. So when I tried it with the next one...

every enemy i shoot in the forearm, hand, gun wont drop there weapon. ive tried revolvers with every ammo type and ive tried using a lancaster but no matter what they wont drop there weapon
This is hard and all but, gambler 8.
Nope, doesnt work for me. After the first shooting the hole town goes in lockdown and officers keep patroling around the farm.
