  • I recently ran into an issue where my extruder was clicking and after that I wanted to share how to tear down the extruder on the A1/A1 mini.

Thanks for showing this. Haven't had any problems with mine yet, but now I won't be as nervous if I need to take it apart. I will definitely watch your video again if needing to take mine apart.

Disassembly of the whole extruder does not make a lot of sense in this case (clicking). I would suggest switch nozzle and check upper connection for AMS, this resolves the clicking issue in most of the cases

What was wrong with the extruder? Clicking sound happens when i'm using the 0.2 nozzle. Maybe my settings too.

Being new I thought it was the extruder but it ended up being a nozzle issue, I swapped nozzles after I tore it down and that fixed the issue. Your .2 might be clogged.

What are the signs of when your hot end needs to be replaced?

In my case I had a clog I could not get out, and was leading to under extrusion of filament. Also the filament couldn't pass threw the nozzle(clog) the extruder was clicking.
