      But how much does this cost? $300 (I'm excluding the Beagle) ... And it still doesn't allow printing ABS or other materials requiring an actual enclosure then. It also doesn't make the build volume bigger, so ... if you really need this, you would probably have been better of buying the P1S combo, no?

    • @ristinnovations
      @ristinnovations  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes, the better overall value would be the P1S Combo.

    Or you could just get a P1S.
    Not trashing the design, or setup, because it's great, but holy hell. That's A LOT for simple "fixes".

      @ristinnovations  10 місяців тому +3

      Lol, you could say I went a bit overboard. I do agree that a P1S would be a better value, but liked the challenge of trying to make the A1 Mini with the AMS Lite easier to move around and take up less space, at least table top wise. Thanks for your comment😊

      I had the same thought when the price was revealed. But then it got me thinking...A1 mini is for beginners who would like to be creative in the physical space. These projects and small prints are actually perfect exercises to dive into designing and building stuff - shelfs, useful brackets, using various tools like inserts etc.
      Really great video.

      Thanks for the feedback. I don’t own an A1 and Bambu Lab has a 3D printed bracket to mount the AMS Lite to the A1 frame so I didn’t think many people would want an A1 version of my design. Thanks for your comment!

  • @oleurgast730

    A very nice solution.
    With theese toolholder bars, you could actually glue acrilic parts begind, to make it more secure forpets and children. As you need only stripes, between the stripes, you might simply use transparent packages from sweets...
    As I have started 3d-printing a few years ago, I have quite a few old, unused 3d printers, like the Tronxy X5 (first version, not CoreXY). So while the unused parts are not the same size as in your project, I might reuse them for an A1 mini enclosure, bringing the cost down a lot. Your video is a good inspiration.
    However, at the moment I simply use a Creality mid size tent to place my A1 mini with AMS. My 3d printer room has about 10°C in winter. so having an enclosure is mandatory even for printing PLA.

    There is an add on for the print head that pushes the poop flinger door open more. I saw it on another UA-cam video. It attaches to the print head and pushes the little lever to open the little door fully.

      @@ristinnovationsI apologize, I don’t know how this happened… I just now sped through this video because I was confused by the name. I started to watch this video yesterday morning and got distracted, lost it and
      I did not finish it.
      I then watched another a1 mini video where the person was looking for a fix to the purge door not opening all the way, I commented on that video and the comment disappeared so I commented again.
      I think this is the original comment meant for that video 🤦🏻‍♀️
      Man do I feel like an idiot right now.

I can’t find the model and now I am convinced I don’t belong commenting on YT But just incase you were curious.

      @@ristinnovations thank you so so much for your kind words! 🤗 and thank you for the welcome, I am absolutely loving 3D printing! I got an A1 on the first day of the Bambu sale, ordered the AMS lite two weeks later. Last weekend was my birthday and my SO got me a P1S combo and my son and in laws pitched in and also got me a P1S combo (nobody had a clue that the other had done the same thing 🤯)
      So I’m just cruising through YT for alllll of the upgrades, mods to add color and whatnot and just learning as much as possible.
      I really enjoy the videos, thank you for what you do, if it weren’t for you and the other YT content creators I would definitely not be as far into this journey as I am already 😊
      ETA:
      I’m working on deciding which design software I want to learn, any recommendations?
      I am not a digital designer, or any designer at all really 🤣 and I am not super artistic but am crafty and handy. I’d love to know how to make a part to fix something around the house if need be, or to make like desktop name plaques for my office etc. I have tinkered a little in tinkercad but have been looking into learning either fusion, on shape or blender.

    I dont think you're quiet getting the spirit of the A1 mini. All of these upgrades undoing what this machine is about, which is just a quick and easy quality bedslinger that can be used with/without the multi filament system.
    It feels like you were methodically trying to recreat their larger p1p or x1 printers with every addition. You are not going to match the quality of those big boys even with all your bells and whistles because its still a core XY machine. Just added a bunch of bulk.

    • @ristinnovations
      @ristinnovations  10 місяців тому +1

      I agree the A1 Mini is a quick and easy printer, but when the AMS Lite is added, it takes too much space on my work bench for a small print volume printer so this was my approach. My solution may not be for everyone, but I’m happy with my upgrades. Thanks for offering your opinion.

    • @rajgill7576

      @ristinnovations they make a clip that allows you to mount the AMS to the z arm, I believe. Does the same thing you did without the extrusions. Don't forget to be an engineer while designing this stuff. Improvements matter along with innovation

    Way over engineered, especially when there are much simpler mounts out there that don't cost more than filament and screws.... Couldn't make it past the shotty enclosure before I'd seen to much. 100$ in aluminum extrusion ?! Another what 30+ in plexi. Sheesh sir. I'm not one to knock someone's ideas but there's this thing called the kiss theory..... I don't even want to know what the other 8 things are if they are as bad as #1....

    Do you need both sets of corner brackets (lines 6&7) ? Looks like they are essentially identical other than the number of screws required to fasten them.

    • @ristinnovations
      @ristinnovations  4 місяці тому

      That’s a good question. The 4-screw corner brackets have T-nuts that can only be mounted by sliding in the end of the extrusions. The 2-screw version allow you to rotate the T-nuts in the extrusions without having to slide them down from the end of the extrusions. I hope this answers your question.

    • @DougDorman06
      @DougDorman06 4 місяці тому +1

      @@ristinnovations it does, from an assembly standpoint, you would need to make sure you slid in all your t-nuts at the very beginning if you stuck with the four screw version. Since you need two sets worth of brackets, it makes sense to buy both. Thank you for your reply!
