Closed my eyes and tried to think of a fitting theme, and was suddenly shot back 20 years give or take to this soundtrack. I may not think of it often, but damned if it isn't a core memory that will always be deep down, ready to surprise me with a dose of nostalgia when I least expect it.
I wish 2021 was good times happy happy 😊🙂 back than when golden axe came out if covid didn't happen every thing would be normal again but no covid-19 happen anyways

As a retro gamer I always wanted to try Golden Axe but I never did. I was back from the movies with my father when I somehow started talking about retro games, and he mentioned in his youth he played an arcade game about a dwarf with an axe and a princess. I guesses maybe it was Golden Axe, and immediatly recognized that incredible soundtrack. That was really awesome to find out, and we plan on playing the entire trilogy together!

Ah, this brings back all the joy of getting stun locked by 2 enemies constantly, and then being robbed by those little SOBs. I don't know if this game was actually fun or just gave me Stockhome Syndrome so I think I liked it. Still love the sound track though!
Is it bad if I say i like the way it sounds better than in the arcade? Something about the Genesis sound chip making it sound grittier and more sinister.
It’s seriously hard to find a better soundtrack than this game.. it’s so much better than Golden Axe 2 soundtrack in my opinion (even though I love castle gates theme).
17:14 Thats like a boss or something, soooo creepy. thought I would add it! LOVE THIS GAME. But this game scared the crap out of me one time because I pressed the special magic button and.... BOOM GIANT DRAGON BREATHES FIRE. I had a mini heart attack, lights were off as well made it creepier loool
the genesis had Yamaha's 6-channel OPN arcade chip, it doesn't come close to the the OPL2 used on the SB16. That's why the DOS version has digital effects and something like 3 channels for percussion of the soundtrack
