She makes a really interesting point about how, even in stories with her's which aren't about men or only include men for context, the reaction is always about the men's perspective or what the men thought. Even if it's a man abusing a woman, the public focuses on what HE did and why HE did it, not what SHE went through or how SHE overcame it or what it meant for HER. The man ends up being what the woman is remembered for.
That, to me, is why this issue isn't as simple as "stop being sexist!"

Hollywood seems like a filthy place. How tragic. If you wanna be an advocate get the fuck out and achieve your passion on your true merit wherever. Your talent will prove that. I don’t know how you could forgive an abuser, maybe that’s just me. Gross.

I don’t know about James Franco being genuine in his apologies when he still mistreated his students at his former acting school. He did it the past and then apologized and then did it again years later and apologizes again. People are stupid to believe him and provide him that blanket, that’s why no one is held accountable for their actions for many years.

Don't be "disappointed" or whatever in James. We are all assholes in some way at some point. She forgave him, but that doesn't mean it didn't teach her something. Both things are allowed!

Ofcourse the media is going to focus on that part of the book because you're speaking about an incident where a well known celebrity shoved u,that should have been expected..Why are celebrities still surprised by how the media operates and also James Franco was 20 years old at that time
People make mistakes when you're young both men and women

They should reboot Freaks and Geeks with a new cast set in 1984 ( after the original cast has already graduated). It could be a series like American Horror Story where each season is a new cast/ story line. Of coarse it would have to be done by the original behind the scenes people that created the original. That is the only way you could reboot this show. Or even remake it set later and some of the original cast could be in it as older characters; imagine Neal or Bill as a teacher

Y’all are so quick to jump down James’ throat without any proof or evidence what so ever just to believe her because she’s a woman is ignorant there’s 3 sides to every story and you can’t just automatically assume somethings true because “you don’t like that person” or “they give you a bad vibe” we don’t know how ppl are when the cameras are off and the doors are closed that goes for her as much as is goes for him... I’m not giving bussy hate at all I’m simply saying dissect what’s being told ( not shown) to you before you start to attack a persons whole entire being not just for this matter but for all he said she said cases

    • @shelbers9254

Briana Waters I wonder if half of these people even watched the entire video and listened to what she had to say. She specifically stated that James has since sincerely apologized for the incident and the two of them seem to have worked it out for themselves and they are good now. She’s not shit-talking him in anyway; she said they’re “good now” how many times? According to things I’ve read, the two of them didn’t really get along back then so I’m sure there other disputes between them we don’t even know about, nor do we really need to. It was a personal story she wanted to tell, and apparently James has also talked openly about it, and they’ve since cleared the air and made amends. And besides that, it was 20 fucking years ago! Jeez... this witch hunt mentality people have nowadays is getting so old.

i never knew this story. why would I? yes she has a show but shit, quit talking about it already to the public. Why diss James Franco if she says she is fine, obviously she ISNT fine because she keeps talking about it. So is this just something for her to talk about herself to be more popular? Thats scary too because people need to quit using small issues to be famous
