This is the last theme Henry Mancini would ever compose. It did not feel like game show timbre, but rather a theme to a Saturday morning cartoon show where a great princess and her family lived in a fairy tale land. I don't dislike this theme.
I am not a hater of this theme. The show was a disaster. But I credit Mr. Mancini for an imaginative, but shallow theme song. He was nearing the end of his life, and I am so glad of this for his memory. Just leave out the applause in the soundtrack, please.

This doesn't even sound like a game show theme. This sounds like the kind of music you would here on an infomercial or a corporate promotional video. In my opinion, this sadly was the nail on the coffin that killed TTD. If they ever decide to bring the show back to television, then I hope they do so using the theme song from the 1978-86 run of TTD.
And get a competent host! Todd Newton comes to mind now. Had they tried bringing back TTD and TJW in 1999-2000, Wink would've come to mind for Tic-Tac-Dough (obviously) and for Joker's Wild...Dick Clark.
I actually love this tune. It's a shame that Henry Mancini never recorded a clean copy of this tune. After all this was my introduction to Tic Tac Dough. Not Wink's version. Regardless of what people say about Patrick Wayne, I like the 1990 version best. Both music wise and set wise
