(Cut For Cut) is a new occasional series where I take a look other UA-camrs, Editors and Filmmakers and break down their editing style. First up is the OG that is Casey Neistat and I am starting with him because I then want to take a look at the “Spirited Man” Van Neistat (Casey’s Big Brother) as I feel that he is the genesis of where Casey started and Van has just recently started his own UA-cam channel.
Enjoy!

Tutorial #25
I have been wanting to do a breakdown of Casey’s editing style for a while and I thought he would make a good subject for the first video in the series. Also, FYI I have no clue what UA-cam have done to the audio on this video. Its like an audio rollercoaster 🎢… So apologies if you are having to adjust the sound every few mins it’s a glitch with the YT render, because my audio in #LumaFusion is all at the same levels and have the same EQ settings. 🧐 Enjoy all the same!
Like the break down! So cool you found such a close example with fence jumping
Thank you for this video I finally found a literal breakdown of Casey’s editing thank you!
This was a fun one. I have a new C4C coming soon and about Andy To so look out for that.
Brilliant breakdown of Casey's video, thank you. I used to think he was just a random editor of sorts, not any more. Thank you for showing us and teaching " me ' that I REALLY need to be more deliberate with my story and my shots. I agree the second Rocky scene was oddly placed, but when the hat guy came out again maybe he was thinking in pairs or similar connecting scenes. WOw I still have so much more too learn and that is good, I just found a new ladder to climb! You have a new sub thank you!
*_So it is just me or is this one of the most underrated channels on youtube? It passed into my algo and I am glad it did! subbed and smashed the like!_*
This comment is why I do what I do. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me. Enjoy the tutorials! 🤙
Agreed, great - full for the hard work, teaching us, "inserting guy with black hat" (act one) Happy for the understanding on learning I need to improve (act II) Now it is time to be awakened go into Rocky mode (act III) outro "black hat guy Vern on the steps in Philly."
Great breakdown. Thanks for your efforts on this :)
Thank You 🤙 Glad you liked it.
Great video man I really enjoyed watching this and seeing how this is broken down. You pointed out a lot of things I probably would not have noticed. Thanks man👊

I've seen a lot of Casey's breakdowns, this is one of the best ones! Technical, but also great from the story side. A ton of work to put it together - thank you!
You are most welcome. I could talk about Casey’s style for hours and hours… lol
@@IAMSTULITTLE we should chat about it :)

Amazing video man!!! Thank you.
Glad you liked it! 🤙
The girl is called Anne Lupo 👊
This is so interesting, thank you for doing this. Would be interesting if you could do his video called “I started a fight I’ll never win” where he battles the ants on his property. I personally feel that is one of his best edited videos.
Anyway, thank you heaps for this!
You are welcome and I will take a look at it. 🤙
This was really interesting. Thanks

Thanks Joe. Its right deep dive and one where you pour yourself a drink and settle down to watch it when you have a spare half hour! How are you doing these days Joe. Are you cooking a new video for us soon?
@@IAMSTULITTLE I most certainly am, watched half of this and will get right into later, nice work.
Thanks Joe. I look forward to your next video 🤙 😬
This video is dope, can you tell me how to make a shale effect on lumafusion as I'm. New to the software
Thanks ☺️ Just to clarify did you mean to type “Shale” or did you actually mean “Shake Effect”?
@@IAMSTULITTLE yeh like whne the screen shakes, I'm trying to complete a project on lumafusion but can't figure out how to do it
I got you covered and watch out for a video up on my channel later on today. 🤙
hi ! mi big doubt here is ...
lets talk about the " intro " when he calls the doctor...
what comes up firs ? the fact or the idea? like...did he know before that happen, that would be the intro of his video...or he records.. and he decides it when editing???
creat job budyy
if i was not clear...what comes first..the " idea of the story that you will tell, or the recording ?
