"Armory... helps witchers defend the continent" -- the moment you know nobody there read the books. The witchers are MERCENARIES, they killed monsters for money, travelled from town to town looking for things to kill, ALSO, witcher at the time of the Saga is a dying profession, and some witchers switched to more profitable political gigs, but for the love of the Mother, they were never supposed to "defend the continent". That's why Geralt's story is special. He was just a witcher, but fate made him more than that. Not every witcher was like woohoo let's oppose the forces of evil. As a huge fan of the books, I am more and more disappointed.
The wording might’ve been strange but at the end of the day, killing monsters defends people, even if it is just a side effect of killing monsters for money. Even then, I would argue defending the continent from monsters was probably the original purpose of the witchers. It would make little sense to create witchers just so they can make money.
"Defend the continent" as in defend it from the monsters. It has always been made very clear in the book lore that Witchers are needed to defend the continent from monsters, despite the hatred and digust they recieve from folk. Mages and Knights, though powerful, are not work for hire mercenaries. In that universe, only Witchers are mercenaries who take up killing monsters. Perhaps you misinterpreted what was said or you just went on a tangent to make random fanboy argument.

I wish they have included some memorable lines from the game like 'winds howling', 'not good', 'howd you like the silver'
This is so beautiful

Love it. Can't wait
Very excited for The Witcher’s return! Seeing the detailed & intricate sets reminds me of the good times during Game of Thrones.
Will yennefer destroy the guest room bed??? Because, come on, that was a nice bed.
The best bed in the whole keep.

"Armory... helps witchers defend the continent" -- the moment you know nobody there read the books.
It would make little sense to create witchers just so they can make money.
stop bitching around like a dumbass fanboy
And they hired to DEFEND the peolpe of the CONTINENT from WHAT???
Lauren Hissrich read the books, she admited it herself more than once
"Defend the continent" as in defend it from the monsters. It has always been made very clear in the book lore that Witchers are needed to defend the continent from monsters, despite the hatred and digust they recieve from folk. Mages and Knights, though powerful, are not work for hire mercenaries. In that universe, only Witchers are mercenaries who take up killing monsters.
Perhaps you misinterpreted what was said or you just went on a tangent to make random fanboy argument.
Ok, way to dial me up to 100 Lauren!! The open acknowledgment of the games is so great!
Better be good, or I'll make them eat a bowl of slugs covered in salt 😉
what's the name of the soundtrack used?
Wish they let CDPR do the show. Netflix fucked up / changed a lot of content from the books. Not that their primary audience (US teenagers) would possibly notice, of course..
THE MUSIC!! DONT FORGET THE MUSIC!!
The first season was downright trash, the casting was the worst part. But just the cringiness of the whole thing was so disappointing. Don't have any hopes for season 2. Lol I couldn't even watch season 1 beyond 2 episodes cause I thought it was that bad. I'll stick to the games made by cdpr
It's based on books, not games ignorant fool.
@@phoenixj1299 your reply is so grammatically incorrect that I actually pity you for being so illiterate. Feel sorry for you man.
@Phoenix J That's even worst for the Netflix series. That says that they didn't care about the source material. Literally, they wipe out what the books made them special. What they did to Foltest, the Friendship between Geralt and Jaskier, the resemblence between Fringilla and Yennefer, the bright and stylish look of the kingdomes and the soldiers uniforms, the tension and moral debates of all the series, the filosofical thought of Geralt. Man, as much as you say in every commentary "It's based on books, not games ignorant fool", It just shows up that you literally know nothing about this saga and why the fans are upset.
Those chandeliers look like Blackstone fortresses indeed.
ngl, but a movie/series of Geralt's journey to becoming a Witcher would be lovely
i am absolutely thrilled, that you guys try to merge the books AND the game into the Series! THIS IS WHAT WE WANT! I was never that excited for a Series.
They actually acknowledge the sole reason the show exists!
Those swords from the game are so nice
Those witcher 3 swords are amazing 👏
i hope this show becomes one of the best shows ever
Thank you !!! Netflix for acknowledging the Game and using models from it ! Thank you , thank you , thank you !!
I love the idea of the Medallion Tree.
i hope they also include stuff from the games. games have made the story even richer.
I'm glad to see that weapons and armors looks good for this new season
