I completely agree with you on the Heart of Betrayal! The Kiss of Deception was intriguing because of the mystery and Lia's friendships, but The Heart of Betrayal had soooooooo much more to it omg. I am excited to read the last book in the trilogy!!!!
THEFT OF SWORDS. I love that series so much! If you read Crown Tower, Rose & Thorn, and Death of Dulgath you understand a lot more about the characters - especially Gwen. I hope you continue reading the series, because it's so great!
Ooh I'm really exited to pick up my copy of The Queens Poisoner now :) I think it's great that you only gave two sets of five stars out, it makes your ratings look so much more realistic, believable and trustworthy compared to many other people on BookTube.
I completely agree with you about The Winner's Kiss. I was a bit worried going into the last book, but Rutkoski did not disappoint. Great characters, great politics, and a great ending. I still need to read the second and third books to The Remnant Chronicles. I loved the first one, so it's nice to hear that the series just gets better. You also have me interested in The Queen's Poisoner, I'll have to check it out. Thanks for continuing to talk about the Brent Weeks books. I probably wouldn't have found them otherwise and I'm loving the first one so far. I haven't gotten into any of my most anticipated reads of this year yet, so the summer wasn't the most interesting time for me, but of those I read, I've loved: An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Mass, The Unbound by Victoria Schwab and Truthwitch by Susan Dennard.
Thanks for the fantastic suggestions. I will definitely try the Brent Weeks series!! Sounds great. I just need HPB to have some of these in so I can add them to my collection!
I can't wait to read The Remnant Chronicles it looks so interesting!! The Queens Poisoner has been on my tbr for such a long time and I need to get onto it asap!!
I started reading the Black Prism a few days ago per your recommendation and: THANK YOU! So far, it is excellent! The magic system seems nearly Brandon Sanderson worthy. Can't wait to read more! But gosh do I hate these covers... Also: how on earth do I never know when new books are published in a series. Thanks for telling me that the final book in the Remnant Chronicles was out! I need to get my hands on it asap. This series is excellent. Also, the winner's curse series has been on my tbr list for so long.. I need to get to it. All that + empire of storms: I think I have reading material aplenty for the next couple of months! Yay! :D
I read Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door recently and loved them both! Lola destroyed my soul in the best way possible! hope to pick up Isla soon. I also stared rereading Aristotle and Dante the other day and about 2/3 of the way through it and I'm loving it just as much as I did last year. Honestly one of my favorite books of all time! So thanks for that recommendation! :D
My favorite of the summer was a completed trilogy by Beth Brower beginning with "The Queen's Gambit". Regan, I think you would love this series, it's got politics, underdogs, war and a slow burn romance that is so heartbreaking. The series takes place in a fantasy world that is so well drawn and realistic that it almost has a historical fictionish vibe. So good and I love that it's complete-no waiting!
I loved the whole Winner's Curse trilogy, but I agree, the last book was the best! I need to get my hands on the Queen's Poisoner, that one looks good!
I have read 52 books since June 1st and my absolute FAVORITE reads were the first two books in the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson! If you enjoyed the Lightbringer series then you'll love The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance! I definitely recommend you bite the bullet and read them asap. They are long reads, but SO SO worth it!
So intrigued by The Queen's Poisoner, really should pick it up ^_^ My fav I've read this season are A Darker Shade of Magic and its sequel by V.E. Schwab.... SO PERFECT. I can't wait for the third book
Please , do a black prism review or you could talk about the lightbringer series in general. I would love to hear your impressions about this series (with more details) I love your videos :)
Thanks, just thought my browser glitched out on me for a sec at first :D your videos are great btw, very recently discovered booktube and I like your channel best
Haha love the dog playing with the toy in the background. Before I started traveling I 'd film with my dogs and cats too and they'd always make the most welcome racket haha miss them every day. The Nest got its star rating chopped out :( Every Heart a Doorway and Baby Doll are two books I've been wanting to read for a few weeks now - sad to hear your ratings weren't great for them! Interested to hear your more in depth thoughts.
Ooo 2 stars to GraceKeepers! I really enjoyed it, it was the first book I read in 2016 and it was my christmas present from Laura so it holds a special place in my heart! ~ A
My Top 5 this summer were Hamilton: The Revolution, The Steep and Thorny Way, The Penderwicks in Spring (and the rest of that series, though the rest were rereads), Illuminae, and Furiously Happy! I really want to read the Brent Weeks series but I'm intimidated because not all the books are out yet and I've always been one to "marathon" series.
Some of my favorite summer reads were: Frost Burned: Mercy Thompson book 7 by Patricia Briggs, Legend by Marie Lu, Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson, and though I'm still reading it, Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan.
I absolutely loved the first 4 books of the throne of glass series. I'm saying for because of the prequel of the story. I also loved the book forbidden by Tabitha suzuma which really got me into the swing things. I also loved the last time we were us by Leah konen which was one of my top five contemporary books ever. besides a bend in the road between by Nicholas Sparks.
Great Video! I might have to look into the Lightbringer series. My favourite reads this Summer would have to have been American Gods by Neil Gaiman and Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami.
Yes that's what actually made me decide to finally read the book. I heard that Bryan Fuller was involved and because I love his work on Hannibal and Pushing Daisies I knew that this TV series would be awesome so I had to read the book.
fave books I read in the summer: miss peregrine's home for peculiar children. 1984 Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe. the book thief
I'm pretty sure my favourite read of the winter (hi from Australia!) was This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab. Because it's not fair to count retreads of Harry Potter, right? If I can, I'd say Order of the Phoenix, which has possibly moved into second or third as my fav in the series. I hadn't read it as an adult before this year, and I'm seeing it with entirely new eyes. It was my least favourite until I read it again!
Gosh...you gave like every single 3 Stars...The only books I've ever given 3 stars are Breaking Dawn and The Selection...I've just never read a book that I didn't like...I think I always know what I want or would love to read so I always know right off the bat whether I'll like a book or not.
My top 5: (all of these were read for my first time) - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (took me 6 months to finish reading HP for the first time and it was worth it!) - The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas - It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover - This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab - Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas Other I read that are not featured: A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, The Selection by Kiera Cass, The Elite by Kiera Cass, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas (did not really like ACOTAR, but loooove Rhysand so I'll probably love ACOMAF)
Totally random: I love your videos and thanks for the suggestions, I just read the first Raven Boys book, and I just had to go back to the book store to buy the other 2 volumes. :D And everyone, have you read the Unwind series yet? I'm from Hungary so I'm not sure how popular that series was (is) in the US or any other country, but oh my, that's probably the best YA dystopian series I've ever read. It's cruel. Amazing. :)
I'm from the US and I have read Unwind and I loved it. It does not seem to be too talked about on book tube. I think maybe because it is an older book and was one of those book series you read and move on. It was great, but it didn't stick with me like others I have read.
I'm currently reading it and it's so so good! It's actually really easy to read and I'm going through it relatively quickly (but taking a break for empire of storms because I couldn't wait to read it)
If you're intimidated by a book's size, I'd recommend getting the e-book (if you have an e-reader or a tablet of some sort). This way, you can completely forget about it. And, believe me, when you're in the book and really enjoying the story, a humongeous book is a plus because you never want the story to end!
most people in the usa don't have summer anymore (for what I've seen). and every school in my country in the netherlands has started & I believe it's the same for germany, belgium and england
+Kamila Ryba depends entirely on where you live. We have had chilly weather for a couple of weeks already, and September has always been considered an autumn month here. ^__^
She is counting month, not when the seasons officially end. So Winter is Dezember, January, February; spring is March, April, May; summer is June, July, August and autumn is September, October, November.
"Mili you can't do that while I'm filming a video honey." I love her dog so much 😭❤️
I feel like Regan was being so savage when she didn't mention J.K. Rowling when she first said she read the cursed child 😹😹😹
Yeah I think it's because jk Rowling didn't write the book I've been hearing but that may not be the case either lol 😂
+Morgan Devlin It's true she didn't, she helped a little with the story but didn't write it
SHADE
I just want to say that your dog was playing with a toy and my dog heard it and now she's looking for the toy
😂
love how the books seem flying 💖💖
Rick Riordan is my favourite book I've read all summer. That shouldn't make sense but there are just so many books to narrow down.
Same
That's how we all feel about Rick Riordan, on an unrelated not you have my name... Or I have your name :P
ahh, i love finding internet twinsies:)
+Hannah same
Oh my gosh, even more irony (that's the right word rights? :P) no joke my sisters name is Emily.
I completely agree with you on the Heart of Betrayal!

I LOVE BRENT WEEKS'S BOOKS SO MUCH THEY WERE ALL SUPER GOOD AND CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT!
I haven't heard anyone else talk about The Queen's Poisoner but you make it sound really interesting!
1:05 cliff hanger much
I just picked up a copy of the winner's curse, looking forward to it 👌👌
Ooh I'm really exited to pick up my copy of The Queens Poisoner now :) I think it's great that you only gave two sets of five stars out, it makes your ratings look so much more realistic, believable and trustworthy compared to many other people on BookTube.

I was sadly in the dreaded reading slump this whole summer, so your videos (especially this one) are making me want to read again! yay!
Your dog is so cute aw 💕 and I really want to read the Winner's Curse!

holy shit girl. LOL :) That's awesome!
My faves of the summer were volumes 1-4 of Locke and Key, the Lunar Chronicles, and Bird Box!
you have such good taste in books especially fantasy
I read almost all of Cassandra Clare's books and they're all my favorites.
Hearing your dog in the background walking around and playing with her squeaky toy gives me life.
I would love to hear your impressions about this series (with more details)
I love your videos :)
I've been watching your channel for awhile now and I always know when you're gonna talk about The Black Prism series 😂😂 💜
The video cuts off, before you actually say the rating for "The Nest". Pretty sure, that's not on purpose.
OOPS! It was a three star read
Thanks, just thought my browser glitched out on me for a sec at first :D your videos are great btw, very recently discovered booktube and I like your channel best
idk why but I love her hair in this video
Haha love the dog playing with the toy in the background. Before I started traveling I 'd film with my dogs and cats too and they'd always make the most welcome racket haha miss them every day. The Nest got its star rating chopped out :(

Rick Riordan's pjo and hoo are (by far) my favorite books I've read this summer
Cool video! I just did a wrap up as well, but I only read 7 books this summer!
You always look sooo stunning! Now i want to buy more books!
I like how you basically keep denying the fact that cursed child has the name jk Rowling on it 😄
I will continue to do so until the day I die lol
LOL right.
why? :)
+PeruseProject may I ask why lol ?
Because it sucked XD
Some of my favorite summer reads were: Frost Burned: Mercy Thompson book 7 by Patricia Briggs, Legend by Marie Lu, Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson, and though I'm still reading it, Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan.
ACOMAF is my fave book I read this summer
Happy Wednesday everyone!!! I hope you're all well and reading an awesome book!!!!
You read more books in one month than I read the whole summer...
Awww love your dog :)!
This video was soooo helpful :))!
What a cute top!
Great Video! I might have to look into the Lightbringer series. My favourite reads this Summer would have to have been American Gods by Neil Gaiman and Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami.
Have you seen where they are adapting it to a tv show? The book was a let down for me, but I am excited about the show!
Yes that's what actually made me decide to finally read the book. I heard that Bryan Fuller was involved and because I love his work on Hannibal and Pushing Daisies I knew that this TV series would be awesome so I had to read the book.
I read Illuminae and hooooooly crap did I ever love that book this summer...
fave books I read in the summer: miss peregrine's home for peculiar children.
1984
Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe.
the book thief
I am very much interested in the series The Black Prism. How old do you need to really understand the book. Love your floating shelves!!!!
Everytime you start your videos with "Hey guys, it's Regan", I always respond "Hey Regan!!!" :D
October/November is definitely going to be dedicated to The Lightbringer series!
I only have a top 3, but they're all amazing:
The Martian
Six of Crows
All the Bright Places
I am reading Six of Crows (FINALLY) and liking it a lot so far!
I'm pretty sure my favourite read of the winter (hi from Australia!) was This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab. Because it's not fair to count retreads of Harry Potter, right? My summer was very similar to yours. Most of the books I've read I gave 4 stars and only a few got 4.5 or 5 stars. :D
I love your shirt 😍😊
your dog always squeaks a toy or scratches something whenever you start a video😂
This video is awesome 🤓📚💜
Gosh...you gave like every single 3 Stars...The only books I've ever given 3 stars are Breaking Dawn and The Selection...I've just never read a book that I didn't like...I think I always know what I want or would love to read so I always know right off the bat whether I'll like a book or not.
Hey Regan! Are you going to be going to the Texas Teen Book Festival happening here in Austin?
My top 5: (all of these were read for my first time)
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (took me 6 months to finish reading HP for the first time and it was worth it!)
- The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas
- It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
- This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

heir of fire, queen of shadows, ACOMAF, The Assain's blade by SJM (sarah J maas forever ) and, Vicious by V.E. Schwab,
I always watch your videos first .. Got Brent Weeks thanks to you!
Have you read The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern? Because I think you'd really enjoy it.
Also, I'm about to start Black Prism, and I'm pumped.
Well lets just say I hope I have a better fall so I can do a video like this. I really want to read The Nest but with your rating not so sure.
What did you rate the Nest? I think you cut that out by accident when you mentioned it :)
3 stars
I was wondering if The Black Prism series is a good start for beginners or not, because I've always wanted to read it.
I didn't hear what you rated 'The nest' :( but amazing video Regan!
+oneateytwo oh sorry, but thank you for answering haha 😊😊

what is your major at college ? love you , you inspire me to read more
Haha my dog heard your dog's toy and she started searching for it around my laptop :)
You should read never night by jay kristoff, if you want to. I feel like you would really enjoy it:)
HEY REGAN
Love some political intrigue - I'm definitely adding some of these to my wishlist :-)
in the black prism series is there any romance going on?
I really want to read Black Prism but I am intimidated by the size
I'm currently reading it and it's so so good! It's actually really easy to read and I'm going through it relatively quickly (but taking a break for empire of storms because I couldn't wait to read it)

I got right through it. I loved it so much I wanted it to be that long. Don't let the size keep you from a good story!

But summer has like 2 weeks left.
most people in the usa don't have summer anymore (for what I've seen). and every school in my country in the netherlands has started & I believe it's the same for germany, belgium and england
And the Nordics, where school starts in the middle of August, so it's a 50/50 summer month for us. :)
Emma L. I think John is talking about summer as a season. He is right summer ends in 2 weeks. Summer vacation ends now ;)
+Kamila Ryba depends entirely on where you live. We have had chilly weather for a couple of weeks already, and September has always been considered an autumn month here. ^__^
