To add to your list of tricks: if you put the three point lever in the "lift" position, put a screw diver through the hole in the PTO shaft, and move it back and forth, it will lift the three point manually. I've had to do that a couple of times to move a dead tractor.
If the pump is tight enough this works, I've had 3pt not lifting manually with old pumps in need of overhaul. So if you keep driving with diminished hydraulic pressure, you have yourself to thank later on when a tractor get as bad as the ones Marty usually picks up i.e non-running engine but you desperately have to move the tractor and you've got nothing to lift/tow/facilitate it's moving from that position. Another factor to consider is you'll likewise struggle with heavy implements in place as the pump just isn't going fast enough to keep up enough working pressure.
Marty the balloon trick was worth the price of admission and your Daughter loved it it tickled me to see he walking around with a Purse over her shoulder
I have a tractor like this, without that handy looking front hydraulic blade. It’s a gem. I just need to keep the battery on trickle charge and it starts every time. My tractor is a b6100dt, 3speed, 4WD, 3speed rear PTO. Its motor is a 650cc diesel. It’s a handy little thing and economical. Don’t put that upper pipe on it as it’s not meant to be there, unless you put a flap cap on it to keep water and other things like wasps out. It will be worth cracking her in half, to check clutch, main shaft seals etc. I was lucky to get a shop manual with mine and I scrounged a parts guide too. I think you can still find them online.
Looks like a B-70. I resurrected one from someone's scrap pile years ago. Had been used by a landscaping business and run into the ground. Did not take much to bring it back and I used it for several years. Tough little tractor that always hit 'way above it's weight. Lost it in divorce and I have often wished (strongly) I had it back. Congrats Marty!
Well done! Kubota B7100 HST-D has been the main work horse of my little property for over a decade. Power and abilities of this machine will surprise you. Biggest little tractor you'll ever own.
in a year or so this would be the perfect machine for the wee man to chase his dad around, another nice find. Marty you're pretty lucky to be in the right place at the right time when it comes to deals, 4 wheel drive, a definite keeper.
For the life of me a cant understand why people cant put an old tin can or plastic drum on the exhaust stacks if their tractors, its not rocket surgery.
there is no reason why that exhaust outlet doesn’t point down like modern tractors do. Or, put on a flapper cap on an upward pointing exhaust outlet. Don’t need a brain, rocket, surgery or science to figure that out. 😊
I had one of those little 3 cylinder diesel kubotas- used it and abused it for over ten years and it never let me down! They are very robust if given even a caring look once in a while!! You’ll love it
Part of true ecology is stewardship of what we have already manufactured as society. Thanks for resurrecting this equipment- you add to the productivity of the economy.
At first sight I was thinking you where having a snow blower in the back. After I realized it didn’t make sense. I’m following you since a long time, I know you don’t have snow…
When these machines need a doctor you're the best!! I love watching you work. You get to the core of all mechanical problems so methodically and logically. I and so many others I'm sure hope you never stop doing your videos. You are a great mechanic, instructor, farmer, father and husband!
My first instinct was to cut that exhaust pipe and turn it down, but the last minute of the video showed me just how wrong that would have been! Thanks, for more great stuff!
If he'd had replaced that pipe with a glass tube he could have used it as a rain gauge. My first Kubota was almost exactly like that one and I think it had more than 4,000 hours on it when I finally sold it. Tough as nails, but no roll cage spooked me. Thanks for the video!
I always have to watch the new MartyT video when its released, I stayed up at 3am just to watch him save another machine and put it back to work, great job Marty.
Marty has one heck of a nack for finding other people's cast offs and getting them operational again. That's one really nice tractor. Especially with a 4 way dozer blade and rear pto takeoff. Can't wait to see an episode of him tearing down the tranny and rear end. Later one of him changing the engines rear main seal to fix that oil leak. Or maybe it's the oil pan leaking. Watching him figure that out would be a joy.
My first though when you said it wouldn't turn over was Hydro Locked. I was responsible for several large generators in my working career. One was a 500 KW Diesel supplying a data center. During one of its regularly scheduled exercises it didn't turn over. there had been corrosion in one of the cylinder liners and consequently cooling water filled the cylinder. Being a critical device, I had to quickly arrange a backup. This was just after Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast. I found an emergency Generator in Indiana, 700 miles away. They were able to get it there overnight. It was a 750 KW in a 40' trailer. My electricians were able to get it hooked up within hours. The generator rebuild took around a month. I had another that wasn't quite as critical hydro lock as well. It was a smaller in line 6 cylinder. The exhaust on it ran uderground to a well filled with rock to discharge any water that got in the well. Over time the well silted up and during a rainstorm water backed up through the exhaust and filled the engine.
my first thought was "sweet deal"...until we found out the engine wouldnt turn....then when that water poured out the exhaust i was back to sweet deal again i knew it could be saved at that point 👍....you are a grand master at finding sweet deals
Another lucky find..You seem to find all the abandoned tractors and bring them back to life..Good job Marty and videos entertaining.. Steve S.Coast NSW.
I have been watching your videos for a few years now mister Marty. You are a wizard! Never stop amaze me! ...These 'Will it run?' videos are a tad misleading though, don't you think? The real question is - 'Will the Mrs accept the new family member?' All the best from Sweden!
Those are good little tractors if taken care of and not worked to death , That front blade tells me she has had a rough life like used as a dozer , Good video !
Those are great little tractors , had one for many years, a B6100D with a front loader, used it in the horse barn and arena, could drive through a 4 ft door in the bard and had a back blade, and harrow for the arena and pulled a dump trailer for barn leaning, wish I still had i as I traded it up for a larger tractor, always ran great kept clean fuel in it changed oil regulary wished I had it now !!!
Awesome ending to a great video 👍 Well done Marty; mechanic and father/teacher. Kids don't forget these moments of fun/learning-something made clear by the genuine laughter we heard. At 65 and a father of three, I look in hindsight [now], to the most valuable lesson-knowing Christ vs knowing about Him. God bless.
I've had a B7100 like this for a few years, bought it off a bloke on the Banks Peninsula for the price of the Fieldmaster Sabre hanging off the back. Very similar front blade setup to yours, which was a NZ factory option with the backhoe kit. They like a really good glow but are easy to start even with a cooked battery due to the decompression knob on the dash. For a tiny 750cc 3 banger it works hard and you really have to try to get it to quit. One thing to look at would be the tyre diameters, those front turfs look pretty big in comparison to the rears, which could be contributing to the transfer case issues?
Excellent video Marty T :) yes nice shape Kubota tractor also 4×4 to plus blade on front with back attachment and would put 100 ml of Automatic transmission in Desiel fuel in tank to help fuel injection pump also injectors to run clean and lube up pump seals to ! Transmission also gear box after put 80w90 in put some Lucas oil treatment to help out gears wearing down and hopefully clutch plus and bearings okay plus brakes too! Rad fluid think green antifreeze use too put 100 ml of 80w90 differential fluid in rad lube fins plus water pump bearings to plus clean head gasket water port jackets too get plug up even frost plugs ! You did well on repairs and always enjoy your UA-cam videos!
Nice to see the children and the dog , everyone is looking healthy and happy! Best to put a can over the top of the exhaust! Nice trick with the balloons!
Nice find! I have a Kubota B6200 with a loader on it and it's an extremely versatile, powerful machine. I have replaced the pin-on bucket with a quick-attach, which makes changing between bucket and snowplow and forks much easier. A toothbar has also really helped digging into rocky soil. I'm 99% certain that your machine will serve you well for many years to come.
Lucky those little Kubota engines are John Wick! Those mini tractors still go for huge money in good order. I've had a turning brake drag on one and I thought reverse had gone so you might be lucky there too.
Those B7100’s are worth their weight in gold. They will run forever. You have yourself a great little tractor. P.S., we need more “Aveling-Barford” grader video’s…
I love this little rig it's weighted up just right it won't do anything crazy or fast but with a skilled patient operator there's not a lot it can't do
Hi Marty, good to see the daughter coming out and supervising you. Sure you’re doing the right thing I don’t know where the managing director is. He’s not there today must be playing. Keep up the good work. Love your Videos Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺🧑🏾🦽
Excellent little machine. Have a two wheel drive with blade, tiller and flail working since 1972 or 3. Now as a log getter with a rear box. Easy for an elderly person to use and just drive around! Only had one clutch replaced too. Thanks for posting. Best from the UK
I have a similar tractor. My exhaust rotted out so i cut it off at the elbow and rotated the elbow downward. No rain and i like the sound of the 15hp with no exhaust.
Please never stop making these videos, they’re my absolute favorite to watch
I second that 👍
Absolutely I see Marty T and bam I'm on it.
I agree!!!
Marty you are a Legend
AND, please make them longer...

Holy crap.
That's going to be a handy trick someday!
The kids voices with the balloons was great, your daughter is definitely the sensible sort! Dad!!!!

just hearing your child's delightful, tinkling laughter makes this vid a 10
Love the feathered apprentices wandering under the tractor.
Haha yeah they are characters
I've always admired your calm approach to fixing problems. Never any ranting or swearing like a lot of the "will it start" gorillas.
Yeah that was my only complain as i watched him first time...........
✌️😁
Watching these videos takes me away from reality…. A comfort zone.
Beautifully put, he is a super mechanic and a joy to watch and listen to.
I came to you again outside here is indoor weather 0 celcius ans storm, my day is saved!!
Marty the balloon trick was worth the price of admission and your Daughter loved it it tickled me to see he walking around with a Purse over her shoulder
The birdsongs in the background of your videos are amazing.
A Dad getting his kicks at the end there! ....good to see. Nice little tractor.
Sweet tractor, please take us along on the transmission repair.
I enjoy watching you fix the problems but also listening to the birds you have in the area.

She wanted the tractor? Not enough to take a man's money, but the tractor too?
Yeah man if you lost a Kubota in the divorce you know things turned out poorly. Hope this man gets hold of another one some day.
When they grab a clapped out tractor too.. Man that's insane!
I'll never marry without a prenup that covers me to the umpteenth degree.
@RuneLStorheim she knew that'll hurt more the greedy b****
That's a mean ex, taking an old Kobota you repaired. I doubt she ever knew how to use it. I wish you find another one.
Well done! Kubota B7100 HST-D has been the main work horse of my little property for over a decade. Power and abilities of this machine will surprise you. Biggest little tractor you'll ever own.

One more top quality vid from Marty again.
I hope you include more bloopers at the end. Seeing what goes wrong, or how you had fun, is just as enjoyable as seeing what went right. :D

@@mst5632 modern tractors don't backfire and set fields ablaze.
What they do in NZ is put an old wellie over the top of the exhaust pipe, i mean how hard can that be?. All the best Mr and Mrs Marty from England.
I cannot WAIT for the transmission rebuild video! Thanks so much for bringing us along Marty, your videos are so meaningful to so many of us!
Marty, the dad. So lovely. Thanks mate. So wonderful. Your family is so beautiful. Heartfelt. Cheers.
Marty T is the National Treasure of New Zealand!!! Marty T should be teaching and passing on his knowledge to future Mancanics!!!
I had one of those little 3 cylinder diesel kubotas- used it and abused it for over ten years and it never let me down! They are very robust if given even a caring look once in a while!! You’ll love it
Awesome, sometimes you get lucky, that was a real cool trick with the balloons at the end.
G,day Marty T from Sydney Australia.
Great advice from your son: "turn it off". I like your new small tractor, very handy.
🇭🇲🌏
Part of true ecology is stewardship of what we have already manufactured as society. Thanks for resurrecting this equipment- you add to the productivity of the economy.
At first sight I was thinking you where having a snow blower in the back. After I realized it didn’t make sense. I’m following you since a long time, I know you don’t have snow…
The two things I like most about your videos are the kids and the birds singing.
great video Marty!
MARTY T. you are a master at reviving those old machinery. thank you for your videos. GERRY G. from canada.
Great games you play with your kids.
You can definitely verify your chickens are free range.
Marty......... i could watch your videos for hours.....Thankyou
My heart sank when I seen that water come out of the exhaust.but good job another cracking little tractor saved
Love watching these videos with my kids. Thanks for all the work you do making them.
another excellent and enjoyable video

@0:08 - Marty, mate, it's high time you finally got a tractor. I think it's one piece of equipment you have been missing out on! 😄
I didn't have many toys in my sandpit as a child.. I'm making up for it now 😂
Those 3cyl 20 odd hp Kubota motors are worth an absolute mint.
The B7100 is the best tiny tractor you can get. Almost no plastic. Purely mechanical. Simple and reliable.
My first instinct was to cut that exhaust pipe and turn it down, but the last minute of the video showed me just how wrong that would have been! Thanks, for more great stuff!
Thanks Marty.............always good too see your work vids, aint seen you for a while

Yeah the roll cage would be a big first point on the to-do list
another great one from a great Dad ☺️, loved the balloon trick, I know your kids are happy.
Goodness, i LOVE these old mini Kubotas! Please continue with more on this little bugger!
I learned to drive a tractor as a kid on one of these. Great little machines.
That muffler can be turned vertical then cut the pipe and turn pipe sideways to stop any water getting into motor
Epic, could you make a video of the front-end blade attachments set up.
As soon as you took the exhaust pipe off and the water poured out, I thought the same you said! Love your videos. Cheers, Stuart
Even your chicken seems fascinated! Great video :)
I always have to watch the new MartyT video when its released, I stayed up at 3am just to watch him save another machine and put it back to work, great job Marty.
Your daughter has really grown. I remember you coaching her not to tell Mom that you brought another broken tractor home. And that was years ago.
I have seen engines with bent rods that ran well and you would never know till it was apart
It would affect timing, probably run a little rough
Marty has one heck of a nack for finding other people's cast offs and getting them operational again.

Great video luckily the bores dont appear to have rusted much and it has good compression good score.
Amazing that you do all this without a proper workshop!! You are my hero!!
Those are good little tractors if taken care of and not worked to death , That front blade tells me she has had a rough life like used as a dozer , Good video !

Got the same engine in a log splitter and it's a tough little unit only prone to head issues if eg the coolant runs out. Otherwise it'll go forever.
awesome as always.thanks for sharing and taking us along.

Thank
You Marty for doing all these videos I’ve learned so much
Another magic fix. Way to go Marty. Kids loved those balloons mate, was waiting for the ear shattering kaboom. 🤣
Always a pleasure Marty, thank you = )
Nice to see the children and the dog , everyone is looking healthy and happy! Best to put a can over the top of the exhaust! Nice trick with the balloons!
So talented, so thorough, so knowledgeable, good on ya.
Love the balloon clip at the end… and the tractor part was good too 😊 … thanks Marty!
What a nice piece of kit. Looking forward to the gearbox vid. The trip to the island should be fun too.
Its so nice to see your kids grow up. Keep up your channel.
good little runner there man!
best dad of the year goes to you marty

I think you got another sweet gem. Please keep doing the videos. Definley make a part 2. Thanks for sharing.
Seems like you got a heck of a deal on the kubota. Hope to see it again. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you keep doing what you do.
21:40 The sound of happiness !!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic work, Marty, and your kids are wonderful, enjoying the rural life.
Made my Sunday a Marty T video. They are always fun to watch. Those kabota motors got to love them. Thanks for a great video.
I love this little rig it's weighted up just right it won't do anything crazy or fast but with a skilled patient operator there's not a lot it can't do
Love your videos Marty. So unfussy, no bull, just fixing what be fixed. Never change what you do!
Great video! Love the balloon bit at the end! Fantastic!!
What a lucky little tractor.
Excellent little machine. Have a two wheel drive with blade, tiller and flail working since 1972 or 3. Now as a log getter with a rear box. Easy for an elderly person to use and just drive around! Only had one clutch replaced too. Thanks for posting. Best from the UK
It’s great to see the old kubota come back to life .
I'm pretty sure the Kubota gave the same squeal of delight as your child at the end when it saw that it was MartyT coming to the rescue!
I have a similar tractor. My exhaust rotted out so i cut it off at the elbow and rotated the elbow downward. No rain and i like the sound of the 15hp with no exhaust.
Looking forward to your rebuild of this little tractor unit..
