I found them because I was at the Arctic Monkeys concert back in September and they were the opening band. Came an Arctic Monkeys fan, left a Fountains DC fan as well.❤
61. Bringing me back to Joy Division. The Jam. The Smiths. The Clash. Even the Cure -- the whole vibe. I could go on. I am back to 80s Post Punk but better. Gives me a reason to live too.
I am 98 years old, at this very moment this is my favorite music, I would like to tell the younger people out there to watch out for this band if they keep going and doing what they are doing, the whole world will get to know about them in the next few years, mark my words they will be proven to be fully correct.
Such energy. Such musicianship. Such lyricism. The world is truly a better place with these young gentlemen doing what they - and we - love. Magnificent!
Their album perfectly captures their live sound and is a reflection of the truth of this superb band - there's no bullshit about them. Honest, genuine, heartfelt, passionate, literate, relevant.
Am I the only one that feels like this recording (maybe because of the gating) feels like the sound doesn't get the time to work? Their playing is tight, and this is incredibly heartfelt, yet the way this recording is done, it almost sounds dead IMO...
Who are the 42 people thumbs down! Dear me this is pure genius, obviously only in my opinion but as a 40 year old guy stumbling upon these was a treat, ill not compare them to any other band because they are unique 👍
Très forts et talentueux- Fontaines DC - Great Band - love to be present for a live session- Greetings from Bordeaux 🌍🌍🌍🇨🇵 to Iceland & Ireland & specially Dublin City
Great band, brilliant debut record one of the most exciting I've heard in a good while. The lads set at Forbidden Fruit in Dublin was mighty, catch them live.
I love everyone trying to show of their musical knowledge by loosely relating Fontaines DC to other bands. Just listen to them and take them for what they are. There's nothing new under the sun.
Allan Gobey haha I was just thinking of the fall. I also see a bit of joy division too. I’ve just found this band and think they are really good. Well done the UA-cam rabbit hole ✌️
....they're not the most tuneful bunch. I like the Peddler's Toy because there is an attempt by the singer to carry a tune at least during the verses. He can sing! I like the guitar and rhythm section of this band and some of their songs.
Me too for the moves - but didn't he have Mark E Smith's famous jumper/tanktop from circa 1980 on for half the set ? The singing style / singing in his own accent, reminds me more of MES. 2 Mancunian legends ye can't go wrong with though...
Self admited music geek and sometimes maybe to cynical. This fucking band gets me excited about music like when I was 16. I hope they go onto to world dominance. They have said fuck conventional wisdom. They define creativity freedom. It's loud and clear. Hope future record labels stay the fuck out of their way. They are in Madison, wi in October. Yes, I have bought my tickets.

I'm 143 years old and just discovered them. Gave me a reason to live to 151.
bout 2 years ago for me. I listened to them do a killer cover of "gouge away" by one of my favorite bands, Pixies. Long May Fontaines D. C. ROCK!

I have the biggest grin on my face these guys are awesome. There is such a late 80s early 90s nostalgia to their sound. Really like it. XX
God they pull it off so well live.
I seen them live in Limerick... unbelievable live. Go hear them. Proud to be Irish.
going to see them open for idles.
going to see them in France this summer. (After Shame a few times last year). Proud to be french. Proud to listen to english and irish bands.

Definitely unique but I think Kurt would be stoked on the guitar sounds of Too Real ;)
Must be them bloody English
each performance better than the last. its uncanny.
I am 8038 years old and I approve of this message
Reminds me of so many different bands that they only sound like Fontaines D.C. Top stuff.

Exactly!
This. No band needs to be "new wire, new radiohead, new anyone" Let them be their own new thing
This is the sort of comment you'd find in the comments section of bands fronted by people Ian Curtis or Mark E Smith
The comparisons are probably what got them onto my feed, so I'm thankful of them. What a band!
