At 15:00 I had an edited portion with the final image but I think I accidentally hid it, sorry about that! You can view all 3 final images on my Twitter here! twitter.com/OyunOrka/status/1782272326412947631 Thank you as always for watching, and as always feel free to leave a comment if you'd like me to cover a specific topic next!
Ahh thank you so much!! 😭 I don't even dare dream of 200k LOL but I'm honored you think I'm underrated! I'll continue to do my best on videos, thank you!!
i was so shocked by how easy this was to follow, and how pretty the final product turns out every single time 😭you kept everything super short and simple, i'm shocked that this was actually 16 minutes... it felt so much shorter. while you weren't afraid to go straight into how you did specific things, you still covered the basics well enough that i can understand why certain color choices, background perspective and props were used! thank you so much for this tutorial, it's such a gem 🙏
Thank you so much for such a kind comment!! I'm always worried I spend too much time explaining things so I'm really grateful and relieved to hear that!! TT
I would love to see you post some speedpaints too! I find them very helpful and your art is so pretty its nice to see the process how you got where you did! Thank you for creating these amazing teaching videos
i always watch your videos for fun but never thought i'd actually be using them since i rarely draw anymore but some of my friends were making a zine and i wanted to add something to it so here i am ;; i was panicking because i was trying to color but then realized "wait i don't know how to draw characters underwater" so i turned to youtube and lo and behold🙇🙇 thank you for saving my life lolol
6:22 oh my goodness! A huge life saver to cell shading diff parts and selecting the colors to change it! May I ask how you did this? The video goes too fast to see the steps
Sorry about that, I'll keep in mind to slow down a bit in the future! I color parts of the character on separate layers (hair, skin, clothes, etc.) but the underneath layers are often messy, so I right click on the skin layer, then click Selection from layer > Create selection. After that, I click on the layer above that, then click and drag the check boxes next to layer to easily select all the coloring / lineart layers above that. Then I right click on those layers, go to Selection from layer > Delete selection. Then just go to the shading layer, lock transparency, and color it in with any color, in this case a warmer color. If the layer you did skin on is already cleanly colored those steps aren't necessary! And if you didn't separate skin color from the other coloring layers, if the values nearby have enough contrast you can also use the Auto select tool (looks like a magic wand) to select the skin colors!
Another amazing tutorial! I really appreciate your editing style (esp the captions), the detailed explanations, and how organized your videos are. I would love to see your speed paints (:
Thank you, I'm really glad you like the editing style the captions!! I'll definitely look into posting some speedpaints in the future, thank you for your support and the kind comment!!
You always make the tutorial very clear and understandable, each step is very easy to follow 🥹❤ I always had difficulties when drawing underwater scene and this tutorial makes me realize its not that hard if you understand the steps well 😭 Anyway have you ever draw waves? I need a tutorial on that if you could help 🥹

Thank you so much!! I'm really glad that explaining how to draw them manually was helpful too! I'm really glad to hear that you think I explain things well, I always worry I over or under explain haha, thank you for watching and commenting!!
@@oyunorka You explained things very well! I'm also super glad you included the information regarding colours getting more diluted the more deep underwater colour goes, since I didn't know that. You were nothing but insightful, and you explained things well in a entertaining and educational level! As a beginner artist, you taught me a lot. Looking forward to all your future videos and accomplishments! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

Yes, you could just use darker colors! For darker scenes but close to the surface, you could choose a really dark blue color for the main shadow area, and where the 'light' should be, you can use a mid toned blue. If you're struggling with colors you can try looking at photos of people diving or swimming at night and using that as reference!
For partially underwater scenes, it would depend on which angle the viewer is looking at the character since light reflects differently depending on it, but I could do a tutorial on it in the future! For now though I think the best advice I could give is look at photos or videos of people swimming, and try to reference from there how people's bodies distort visually underwater (when viewing from above water) depending on the angle/light!
So, my main problem is the way the character's body flows, especially if they have long hair and their clothes. So, how do I determine how everything flows underwater?
Omg you actually did itt!!! ;-; Literally cannot express my love and gratitude for you with words :') Whoever sees this comment you better subscribe because this person does the best tutorials I've ever seen I'm not even kidding go check other videos
