Seeing an interview with Dr. Mason is an automatic click. 😎
Haha same here!
I agree!!!!
Hmmm. All of a sudden I'm thinking meat with no veg for dinner.
Dr. Mason is brilliant.
Been carnivore for 1 year. Pustular psoriasis, ibs, lbp gone. Down 60lbs, body fat 16% from 35%. No longer snore, waking up well rested. More mental clarity. HbA1c 4.5. Still waiting for that scurvy they all warned would come lol. Thank you Dr.s Mason and Baker for changing my life!!!
Can never get enough of Paul
I’m over in West Australia and it’s frustrating that the docs/naturopaths I’ve seen so far keep pushing plant based diets
Does my head in
Family history of diabetes, dementia and colon cancer
I have a heart condition
So I’m very interested in diet and lifestyle to support health
Love your work
Great interview, love listening and learning from Dr Mason.
Excellent! Thanks Paul. Several gems shared again. The damage from MCT was a surprise and the notion of depleted gluconeogenesis when ketones are above 2.0 is very interesting. You have even made me pleased to have Gilbert's syndrome!
Really interesting, thanks for giving us your time. The only benefit of covid has been finding the LCHF community on youtube, No more HBP yeahh!
Thank You Dr Mason. You definitely made your case and so clearly too. Well documented and leaving no doubt ! You are the BEST. Thank you for your dedication and hard work to promote health and alleviate suffering and death. 👍👏
hearing what he saying DR Paul Mason you are brilliant and I have done it now and all my pain went away I can’t believe this 💛 I had so much pain in my joints
Ok. I am officially putting a message in a bottle- so to speak, and respectfully requesting to any cosmic PTB (Powers That Be), that I’d like the time back ( lost mortality ) that I have wasted on YT looking for the information that Dr Mason has so clearly elucidated here. Thank you Dr Mason.
Yeah, the gods sure did fail us there. Kept chucking red herrings at us (or, rather, muddied the path to the cows and red herrings with vegetable matter).
54:41 re: Sylvia Tabor’s DEXA scan, I had a scan done last December, eight months into a ketogenic diet with intermittent and extended day fasts and with the last 3 months carnivore except for kimchi and natto.
My scan showed I had the bone density of a mid-20s male (I was 56 at the time and sedentary).
My plan has been to remain carnivore and rescan on the same machine in Dec 2021, and I’m hoping for improvements because in Jan 2021 I added a ton of exercise (CV & resistance), polyphenols (Resveratrol & Pterostilbene) and NAD boosters (NR & NMN).
I also tested over 90 blood biomarkers in Dec 2020, including DNA methylation from 2 different companies and GlycanAge.
The latter came back with me having a biological age (based on inflammation markers) 15 years younger i.e. that of a 41 year old. I attribute this to 14kg weight-loss from a ketogenic diet (BMI 34.7 to 30.1). Not looking fwd to my CAC Scan this summer, but I need a baseline.
On target for a BMI of 24-25 by Dec 2021...can’t wait to get my new DNA methylation results after all these interventions!
@Godfret Mann Can you provide an update in what your later scan and bloodmarkers looked like?
Shame the audio is so poor
Great talk Paul thanks!!!
Paul - I have followed your videos for a few months now, and have found them to be beneficial to my journey. I started this in Dec last year after weighing in at 136kg - I was type 2 diabetic with high blood pressure and only getting fatter as I was prescribed Diabex to control my blood sugar. Soon after seeing a few of your vids, I commenced a keto diet, but didn't expect to see results so soon. I honestly didn't expect to see results so quickly, especially as I was not exercising. Unfortunately, my doctor was not completely on board with my choice of diet change, but I was sure that it was working, so I kept records of my blood pressure & sugar readings along with daily weight.
To date I have lost over 25kg, dropped 2 pants sizes, my body has shrunk to levels not seen for over 20 years, I completely cut out the Diabex (dr doesn't agree with that), reduced blood pressure meds but am looking to reduce them further if I lose too much more weight as I am getting the occasional dizzy spell when I stand up. I won't say that I have reversed my type 2 diabetes as I am on a carnivore diet, so haven't been consuming carbs. Once I get to 100kg, I may introduce some carbs to see what result they have - I can always go back to carnivore if not happy with the result.
I too found MCT oil and have been cooking in it as it doesn't burn like butter does. I also use it in a bulletproof coffee (breakfast), but was under the impression that it was good for you. If I shouldn't be using it, what should be used?
Peter, Dr Mason is actually taking patients, if you want an appointment with him just need to go on his Twitter account and click on the link....best thing I ever did was see him🙏
Keep up the awesome work 💪
You need to up your salt intake to fix the orthostatic hypotension causing your dizziness
Look up the salt fix book.
Try GHEE if you don't want burning. It's also known as clarified butter. I recently tried tallow. Great taste A LOT of spatter.
@@boofamaurice Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near Sydney.
Fix your Mic or connection. What a shame great material Shawns connection is garbage.
This was fantastic Paul, thank you 🙏🏼
Paul, thanks for all the good advice, I wish you would do a video on Oxalates. Thank you
Two of my favorites! 💗👏🏻
MCT interfering with gut permeability is really interesting. Mary Enig, Ph.D. did coconut oil research on enveloped viruses being destroyed by (I think) the fatty acid. Very interesting.
Thank you Dr. Paul!!
Shawn Baker that was really poor video and audio quality.
Dr. Paul Mason . . . you are the best!!! I wish you were my doctor!!! Thank you for sharing all your incredible wisdom!! 💗
Always great information
Shawn - you're Mr. Static Man and difficult to understand.
Wait, what? No vegans here, blaming the poor connection on his diet??
It’s quite a puzzle to me how so many doctors are ignorant of this Iron issue. I was diagnosed with low hemoglobin despite having normal Iron levels and no one could explain it. Thank you for this.
Awesome podcast.
The two people i respect the most in the health care space are Dr Paul Mason and Dave Feldman
Gundry is a snake oil salesman ...., I have never liked him
It's weird, but you've confirmed what I've been thinking as well :)
@@Jchathe His slick infomercials give him away.
Love Dr Paul's videos, interviews and lots of videos at the conference etc, can we have better microphone audio next time, cleaner and crispy audio than this?
seriously - it's 2021, decent audio is so easy
Obviously Shawn had issue with his audio. It sounded like what my Focusrite sounds when it needs to be restarted... Are you using Focusrite Shawn?
That is exactly what I got out of Steven Gundry …. He tells you how bad lectins are but then says eat plants
That because he wants you to buy his lectin blockers….
Can I take lycopene for its anti cancer properties or it also has lectins?
Schizophrenics and arthritis - it was observed that schizophrenics rarely had arthritis.
Did Dr Paul say he doesn’t like medium chain Triglycerides like coconut oil??
I was of the opinion that coconut oil is one of the best oils to cook in... can someone educate me there ??couldn’t find it after I listened to the whole presentation 🙏😫
You are best off to cook with animal fat
PLEASE talk about Alopecia
Hi Paul, I would love to see your presentation on interpreting blood panels, if it was recorded. Are you going to upload in the channel?
Moving over to the carnivore diet this weekend and into next week going full out on it.. hope it works for me
Should I stop taking bottled cod liver oil?
My lovely MCT! 😍 Bye-bye!? 😢
he says go for sheep or goat milk, but they do contain c8-c10 fatty acid which, he said, cause leaky gut. so what to do?
I think he said in their yoghurt or cheese form, because they're fermented?
Paul. Thank you. could you please do a video on glycerol monostearate supplement. I can't find much information on it anywhere. And it is used as an emulsifier in baking. Though bodybuilders have been eating glycerin for years for muscle hydration and pumps. Only studies have been on endurance athletes. I'm now thinking I should stop taking it if you say its no good for health. Its a fun supplement but my health is more important, thanks again you rock.
Can’t hear anything that shawn is saying ☹️
I would LOVE to talk to Dr Mason about my HH homozygous C282Y. My ferritin was measured at 991 in March after 2 months keto diet. It was suggested I get a genetic test for HH since all my liver markers looked healthy. I immediately donated blood then was retested. Ferritin went down to 600. Can I expect a ~30% reduction in ferritin with each successive blood donation? How low should I go? I have seen many docs suggest that the optimal range is in the 60s. Yet I've also seen Dr Mason say that anything below 1000 is not of major concern and that HH athletes actually feel lousy with ferritin below 500. Naturally, I am concerned with the ferritin effect on my organs. But another paper suggests HH is somewhat protective. See "Do Hemochromatosis Mutations Protect Against Iron-Mediated Atherogenesis?" Anyhow, I have lots of Qs.
How much genetic test cost?
Dr how can we get calcium without dairy ? Chugging in tons of leafy greens seems unnatural and seeds are extremely high in Oxalates !
There are natural marine sources of calcium from algae.
Just get enough protein and it will become calcium where necessary.

Is it possible that the doc with the joint dislocation problem is building muscle on a carnivore diet and so the joints have more support
in a bio-mechanical way rather than a bio-chemical way?
That's sound about right, but I'm not expert, Dr Paul needs to read your question.
I also have Elhers Danlos which is the same condition. Many dislocations when I was younger. I started weightlifting on and off and felt that has helped support the joints. I’m a month in on the Carnivore diet and have often thought that carnivore helps with building muscles which supports the joints.
I am a single carrier of one of the hemochromatosis genes.
I was doing a strict keto diet years ago, fatty meat, veg, and no seed oils or grains/starches, Plus fasting 20 hours a day, and couldn't get my HbA1C below 5.1
I wonder if ferritin is what was causing my HbA1C to not go below 5.
I've not been clinically in diagnosed with hemichromatosis, but through research studies, know my iron levels are slightly elevated in my liver.
It's hard to get it below 5.1. I do a ton of fasting and that is where mine hovers. I also don't think you really want it lower than that anyway.
Excellent podcast!
As a sports meds doc, do you use HRV in your training or health choices to determine how hard to train?
I’m fairly sure that wheat germ agglutinin is inactivated by heat. Good thing, too...
can't hear anything!!
Goat milk fat is 30% MCT.
can the other dude fix his sound maybe? holy shit
Why do most athletes have a high pulse average and high blood pressure?
Hallo Dr. Mason, I would like to know if someone with porphyria can go keto as well?
Horrible audio reception. But Great topic I must say😊
What about TMAO issues with choline ?
What about diet Mountain dew for a drink?
In what form should the calcium supplements be ?
From algae
I think microphones are full of lectins, so Shawn should not try to eat them
So is coconut fat bad then (because of the MCTs)?
Hi Dr Mason 👋🥓🍤🧀🥩
Hepsidin Assay?
Explain mechanisms for MCT oil affecting intestinal permeability....? Regardless of ketone levels.... 2 different things.... not everyone listening is elite athlete
Coconut oil (is refined)... always been bad for health. Eat em whole if you like...
@@eugeniebreida you mean whole coconut? Even cold pressed virgin coconut oil is bad?
Next is not meant to be offending. I'm the hardcore fan of Dr. Paul Mason.
Could you update your audio quality to match the superior source of knowledge? Well, I take you are not the Audio Guy(like I am) but it is always so very, very much easier to listen lapel miked(lav) content. Somehow the laptop mic is sneaked on the track this time even you seem to wear lapel???
Proper Lav mic always beautifully low carb coats the speech content. Curiously it is also the cheapest choice. Here is the comparison video and all those examples are so much enough and at professional level too. Most pro choice is right there:
ua-cam.com/video/CZKs1U1GA84/v-deo.html
Shirt mounted lapel mic(20-25cm beneath the mouth) is always the best bet.
Chest prevents room echoes behind the artist. Lav miked spoken audio always beats the possible room reverb even in hard class rooms.
Use of low quality headset mic has the risk of s-es to start to dominate and can make listening experience a pure torture. Dedicated mic is taking some work to set up. Using laptop mic always picks room echo and destroys part of the message.
Winner for speech is always lavalier(lapel).
👏👏👍

Back in Afghanistan Shawn?
Why doesn’t he mention that his diet increase mortality risks?
I average 10 tomatoes or more daily. No way to the le tin theory. No way.
