Don't remember the Netherholme shopping centre but i do remember FADS, Woolies, Clarks which was there till recently and a few other shops. Worksop must have been a nice town to live in back in the day. It's not now.
Im 29 and lived in Worksop until i was 25. I remember all the old shops and buildings just like it was yesterday. Every saturday morning me and my dad used to go to the Mayfair Centre, Kwik Save etc. I even remember when they were building the new Wilko's shop and clearing the old precinct to make the car park bigger. A few old buildings still remain but alot of shops have come and gone.
Definitely remember a lot of these. Co op on Watson Rd was New Coop because original was still on Victoria Square running down Eastgate with bank and Chemists. They knocked it down built new and ended up as Matalan. Car park is dodgy at the minute, pavement is collapsing at the side of the canal!
I can remember going to annabels nightclub in a monday night in the netherholme precinct, kids from my school hartland as well as valley and Portland went there late 70s.
I somewhat remember the McDonalds having a soft play up stairs but this is coming from someone who was around 4 when it shut down, shame that a lot of lovely buildings have been knocked down over the years
It was still open in August 2002 for definite as I celebrated my getting my GCSE results in there with my mates! What did it in was the drive thru McDonald's next to sainsburys opening. They're franchises and were in competition with each other.

i remember kwik save when it was near the old library and park shame its all changed
No Frills on Newcastle Avenue which is now The Licquorice Gardens.

The farm shop on Raymouth Lane is still going today and looks the same.

Yes we once had a McDonald's in town. It shut down about 2002/2003 which then became a Chinese restraunt and that shut down as well.
