I was born in 1980, I lived on Priorswell Road (number 19) until 2007 🙂 I left Worksop in 2014 when my then girlfriend got pregnant and we moved to her home town of Hoyland near Barnsley, watching videos like this brings back loads of childhood memories as if they happened yesterday 🥲 3:09

Wonderful video. This area means a lot to me as I grew up there from 1967 - 1979 and went to all the three schools that were close to the Priory Church from 1970 - 1976.
I love the photo taken from the top of the Canal Bridge looking down onto Priorswell Road. All the buildings on the right had long gone when I lived there, but the building on the left at the corner of Garside street was a shop run by Mr and Mrs Cairns at the time, they had a daughter called Diane.
I lived just over the other side of the canal bridge, down Canal Terrace which ran down the side of the Brewery and had a large Launderette at the end of the road, I think at the time it was called Renova Cleaners and ran a fleet of blue Bedford vans. The Launderette buildings are now demolished, but the old brewery building is still there.
I (Gene) lived at number 7 Canal Terrace, with a David Renolds at 1, later John Dickinson who raced old British motorcycles, Michelle my childhood friend at 2, Mr Cook at 3, Doug and Winnie at 4, Roy and Marylyn Bland at 8, Mr Proctor at 9 and Mrs Witham at number 11. There were just eleven houses in the Terrace which are all still standing.
I still visit the whole area from time to time when I am feeling nostalgic, and often wonder what happened to my childhood friend Michelle that I last saw in the mid 1980's, I have a very vague idea that her surname may have been Campbell, but I could be wrong about that......Ah they seem such wonderful times looking back!
It would be just great if you have any old photos of Canal Terrace. Thanks again for such great videos of areas from my past.

My school friends parents lived at and ran the corner shop of Garside Street when I was growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, their surname was Brookes. I don’t know what year they took it on but I suspect they acquired it from the Cairn’s 🙂

These videos put me in a different world, its so awkward to process where is where! Do you know anything about the blue lady in 1600-1700?apparebtly, there is a blue lady thats sin on a tree acroos from the road of the priory church, a monk that would stand on top of the priory church, 3 siaters dead in the graves accused of being withches and they were trying to haunt those who killed them. I think you should google it on google, i thibk its really interesting and that u could maybe make a video on it? Great vid!👍

And also, at the canal nearby, there used to be a hellhound! I dont know if any of the ghosts did anything though
