True and unlike some tubers who hate discourse and just ban all but the most positive comments... Faux is willing to give even haters some of his platform time and explain it's ok and what his bias is.
Some of them I am… some I tell to outright fuck off… but I do leave the comments on so everyone can see how much of a tool someone is. I’m happy to disagree with a polite person.
I agree with you, I get trashed for being an Apple Fan boy because I do my craft on my iPad. Hater will be haters. I use the tools that works for me. I always loved putting Win machines together and the tinkering, but I prefer my workflow on Apple products. Nothing wrong with either platforms.
My A1 was in the mail when this video dropped. After a few days of playing with it, it's exactly like Ross says. A simple to set up, easy to use, hassle free first FDM printer. I would also like to point out how almost every option in the slicer, when clicked on, opens the wiki to explain what that option does. Extremely helpful feature for an FDM noob.
Had my bed go out on my A1, made the ticket Saturday afternoon, got a reply Sunday morning and a tracking number Monday morning, 4 days later I was up and running again. Bambu is great. I ended up getting a P1S for ABS and after the upgrade it is working nonstop.
Update - I received my Bambu A1 and set it up right away. Ross you were absolutely correct, I carefully followed the instructions, which was quite simple, and started print flawlessly! Thank you so much for your advice 👍
I started 2 years ago with an Ender 3 v2 and I had a lot of fun with leveling it, adjusting settings to get proper dimensions, e-steps, etc, but now after 2 years I am so done with dealing with printer issues but still constantly having issues with the thing. I'm learning CAD via OnShape/Fusion 360 and don't want to add printer troubleshooting on top. I wasn't a fan of Bambu's cloud printing thing but it seems like they solved that by adding the LAN mode and the easy nozzle swaps is very appealing. I'm definitely going to make the A1 my next printer.
I bought one of these for my business, did all the research first, including your previous vids on the A1 and decided this was the printer for me. I needed something that worked out of the box and not have to faff about with bed levelling or much else, had enough of that with previous printers. Got to say, I am impressed by the quality of the prints, it works for me. Bambu did, or are still doing a 2 year anniversary deal on the price and I paid £289 (no ams) for mine, £60 more than the Elegoo Saturn 3 12K resin printer I bought a few weeks prior. However, it is worth the price for ease of use, speed and the quality of the prints. Mine was the upgraded version from the supplier.
I bought the A1 as my first printer after tons of research. I've had it for about 3 weeks and I LOVE IT. It just works and was easy to get into 3d printing. My printer has been running almost 24 hours a day since I got it.
Ive had my A1 since lauch. Got the new heatbead and installed it. Printer is an absolute beast. Like anything a good solid P.M. mindset is key to anything staying in good working condition. But just the base up this machine is well built. I can see this printer lasting me a long time.
I just ordered the a1 and i was debating hard between the a1 and mini and just decided A1. Have not done any 3d printing before and other than printing minitures with a .2 nozzle - not sure what i would print. Decided to play it safe and get the extra volume for printing. Thanks for all your videos.
Worked for me! I ditched my Neptune 4 because I got sick of constantly dicking around with it to get subpar results. Sold for an A1 and it's been nothing but easy and reliable, a complete 180 of user experience.
Having fun building with your kid is priceless. It's awesome the little squirt is interested in helping to build a freaking turbine model. Enjoy it while you can. Be greedy with her time ;)
I wish I had more. Tonight we built a Gundam. I did a car engine with my son too. Love these machines for stuff. They always have the best school projects lol
As someone who started with an Anet A8 years ago (fire starter), then moved to a Neptune 4 Pro (bug ridden) and Sovol SV07, you can bet after I got my first Bambu printer (the X1 Carbon) that I FREAKED at how little I had to do for such high quality prints. They do some amazing stuff!
@@FauxHammer to be honest, after dealing with the Anet A8 for so long, the Neptune 4 was a breeze to handle. But I definitely wouldn't recommend it to a beginner. I still use it regularly without issues, but it took a bit to get it to where it is. Way to bite the bullet and make a review for it, though. I'm sure it was like pulling teeth, but the public appreciates you for it.
Thank you! I can print great prints on my other printers and I have. But each of them required a lot of tuning and fiddling around to get them that way. A friend brought me his first print in Silk PLA no less, and other than a newbie mistake it turned out way better than most prints I did up until I learned way more than I ever wanted to about 3d printers. When I replace my 5 year old printer later this year, it will be with a Bambu. Because if a complete noob can get that good of a first print, then I should be able to as well! And talking about something you like and enjoy using is not shilling! It's sharing your passion!
This is exactly why I started following your channel. My interest in printing is what I pull off the bed. That's it. I want to print things and know that they'll come out as intended. Not nurse a machine so that it can occasionally print things well. I've done a few maintenance cycles on my X1 now. Had to pop the nozzle off a couple of times to get into the extruder. And compared to my old Ender 3 it's so much better. The only real downside I've found is that the chassis is a little in the way with the screwdriver I use because Core XY. So that wouldn't be an issue on the A series either. The ability to buy a reliable, multi-material/colour machine that gets out of my way and just gives me the things I push out of the slicer was what put me onto Bambu's path. And now I'm on it, it's gonna take something even better to make me change course. I'm curious about resin printing, but the lack of an option that makes the process as user-friendly as Bambu has made FDM is keeping me away at present. Hopefully sometime soon a legend will come along and help me out there too. But until then, I'm just going to enjoy printing stuff and very occasionally running some quick and easy maintenance so I can enjoy the stuff I print. Hardest part these days is deciding what to print next.
After watching your video on the AnkerMake M5C, I purchased one. It made it 6 days before it quite printing with Print Transmission errors. But in those 5 days that it did work, showed me why I should have bought this printer in the first place. When I saw your video today, I returned it to Amazon and will be buying this instead. Not here to blame you for what happened, but to thank you for putting out all the good info that has helped me get into 3D printing. Now I am getting the right printer... because it just works!
Just got an A1 in the current 2 year anniversary sale. It is amazing, more so the ecosystem of handy app/ maker world / bambu studio and the printer all being integrated. I keep on laughing when I print in ludicrous mode, the speed benchy comes out as clean and smooth as the normal one but in 8 mins!! skipped the AMS as im not keen on the wastage. I have prusa, geetech, anycubic, tronxy machines for over 7 years, they all getting listed on ebay to clear room for a fleet of A1's, I can quadrupole my production and profit in my market I sell in, this company have sorted it. Best thing is the profiles work as does the printer without wasting a hundred hours on mods and calibration tweaks to eek out a tiny improvement, every other machine in the sector is effectively obsolete now in the fdm world in the markets that align to A1/ P & X series
Hi Ross, I do resin printing, printing jewellery and I’ve never been interested in 3D printing fdm until ive seen your recent UA-cam videos on these fdm printers. Watching this and seeing what your printing (obviously not jewellery) has opened my eyes a little to what interesting things that can be printed on this machine. Them prints and huge models you and your kids have made look absolutely amazing. So I’ve been thinking of getting one to have as a side hobby, something in between jewellery manufacturing. You make it look so simple and yet you probably can do it with your eyes closed. Take care and thank you for the videos on here.
Don't have room for an A1 so got the mini. So easy to use and set up, far easier than an Epson paper printer! The offer price at the moment is stupid for such a good printer. Not needed to raise an issue as the online faqs are very good.
I have a Creality K1 and just picked up an A1mini for 325 AUD (220 USD) I am totally blown away at the ease of use, speed, noise levels and print quality. Out the box it's outstanding. Definitely sets the bar high, I will get the larger model when it's meant to release later this year (CNC kitchen interview with bambu CEO Dr Tao confirmed it)
Bambu definitely shook up the 3D printing market. I like how the Engineers that left DJI which owns 70% of the drone market, started this. Really makes you wonder what else they can take over if they tried.
Bought an A1 mini last week, coming from my last printer, a Folger FT5 that has sat broken for years in need of a 2nd major rebuild (put off indefinitely because it's a massive faff), I'm amazed by how well it works and how simple but well thought out the mechanicals are. Lightyears ahead of my FT5/kit printer days, the nozzle change system is brilliant, and it just prints so well out of the box with zero manual calibration faff. Not sure if I'll ever need the 300mm cube build volume of the FT5 again, but if I do I'll be hoping they come out with an A1 Maxi.
just got a p1s and i have fallen in love. me and my son have been printing rainbows all evening. super excited what i can do and design for my fightsticks!
Considering that Bambulab started by imitating Prusa as their biggest inspiration in the 3D printing world, and they seem to be more interested in FDM than other technologies for now, I can almost certainly predict that their next printer will be a tool changer like the Prusa XL for roughly half the price with more features and better reliability. It's only logical they tackle this market segment and dominate it when no other company can. Bambulab has done an incredible job to this community and I expect a lot from them in the coming years.
Just purchased the combo in the current sale for the reasons you mentioned and it should be here tomorrow or the next day. In the past I've built and heavily tinkered/modified an original Ender 3, then built a Prusa MK 3S, which also I got hit with customs duties on which made it even more expensive. I've had enough of tinkering as it began to piss me off and all I want to do now is see/design something and print it in the easiest way possible and this seems like the printer to do that. Another thing is the Prusa Mk 4 with multicolour is way, way out of my price range and to me seems overly expensive for what it does. So the Combo option, 2 different nozzles and 3 rolls of filament cost me £462 and I really can't argue with that, also wanted the new plate, but that was out of stock. I'll get that later.
okay, everything else you mentioned aside... can we talk about how GOOD this printer looks??? like holy shit ive fallen in love with it and i saw it only 10 mins ago when your video started, so much so that im now considering selling my 6 month old E3 S1 Plus and getting this instead, based on aesthetics *alone*! their whole branding feels very Apple to me, and I love that.
Bambu is doing some great stuff for sure. I really love my Prusa printers, and the mk4 is a huge quality of life improvement; I hope Bambu's leapfrogging encourages other brands (including Prusa) to step up their game.
Got my A1 before the recall and loved it for a few weeks. Returned it during the recall and upgraded to the x1 carbon. While I love the X1, I'm not gonna lie, I like the A1 a little better. The quick swap nozzles are an absolute game changer.
"Due to a recall on the whole product line" in b4 a certain percentage of toxic BBL fans going "well actually they didn't recall the A1 mini so " If they flock in, dont let the b****rds get you down, you're clear and coherent and well thought out in your covering of things, keep up the good work.
While I personally prefer 3d printing as a hobby (built a voron, continually upgrading my trusty prusa over the last 5+years, etc). But I also recognoze that isn't for everyone. I even decided to get my family an a1+ams lite for Christmas last year. I don't want to be tech support for them, I want to see what they come up with to print. I hope the timkerers printers continue to exist and push the boundaries of the technology, but I equally hope that companies like Bambu continue to make the technology accessible to anyone.
Thankyou so much, yes!!! Exactly this! I also hope tinkerer machines exist. Just in the same way you can buy kit cars and show cars. Models and action figures Let’s have a world where people can choose to get the thing they want for their reasons and have that thing being the best fit their needs/wants I have no objection to Vorons. It’s just not my thing. And that’s ok
Just ordered my A1, through your link of course! Hopefully the days of fiddling with my heavily modded, 4 year old Ender 3 Pro are over. I'm really looking forward to the auto bed leveling. I've been using octoprint with EZ ABL Pro and constantly tweaking the wheels on the bed before every print has really put me off printing (among other things). I can't wait for it to just... work!
My A1 was sent back in the safety recall as I wasn't comfortable replacing the bed decided to replace it with a P1S combo. As much as i miss the nicer screen and easy change nozzle, I was having issues with prints warping while it was in my garage and exposed to the elements. Since my P1S came with it's enclosure, I've had no warping issues except when I forget to turn off the aux fan. Best guess is my issues were environmental and not the printer itself so still happy to suggest it to people.
@@FauxHammer I just hope that we get a P1S hotend upgrade that gives you access to the quick swap nozzles that the A series uses. Wouldn't even be annoyed by the fact I just bought 0.2 and 0.6 complete assemblies for my P1S on the sale
I have an A1 in part because of you/your reviews. Since it's my first experience with 3d printing, I have nothing else by which to measure. Was it plug and play? Yeah, sorta... used the small section of test PLA that came with the unit and tried to print the bed scraper (wasn't enough to finish the stand and I moved the z-access while installing other filament when it came the next day so it didn't resume correctly) ~ then I got to fight AMS not feeding properly for a day... because apparently it's a bad thing to let the tail end of filament be pulled into the hot-end, it stayed there and caused friction and/or blocked completely the different AMS spools. As for the support, I ordered a day before the price drop.... Bambu didn't have to do anything, but they offered me (once I initiated contact) $70 in store credit. Took less than 24 hours for that to come through and it was good for a year. I appreciate a business that does that kind of thing. Now comes the years-long slog of using the printer and finding out what it won't do or doesn't do well, that can be improved upon with another unit... or realize that 3d printing was just another fad (for me) and it never gets used.
Great review! I totally agree, I love the fact that I don't have to tinker and tweak to get it working. I wanted hazzle-free printing - and I got it with the A1.
To be perfectly honest, after years of printing with very manual printers, this printer intrigued me for the automatic functions and the AMS feature. However, I was a bit hesitant because of the recall. After researching and discovering that they were bending over backwards to make it right for the purchasers with offers of replacement parts and instructions or full returns including additional credit, I decided this company takes full ownership of their product integrity. This rare dedication to customer satisfaction prompted me to set up a notification for when the A1 was re-released. I have owned 5 printers before the A1. The A1 beats all of them for rigid filaments. The only thing that disappoints me is the inability of the AMS to handle softer filaments like TPU and some PVA. So, for multicoloured TPU prints, I still need my IDEX.
I got into 3D printing by borrowing worn-out Ender V3, managed to print rc plane and boat but it requires constant fiddling and success ratio is low. My A1 is underway, let’s see how it will handle heavy, tall prints of rc parts. Thanks for honest reviews.
Thank you for a great video! I have had my A1 Mini for a couple of months now, and this is my very first 3D printer. So far I have had no problems (apart from the occasional bed adhesion issues, caused by my not cleaning the bed often enough... 😳) However, if I do have any major problems, I will follow your advice on how to submit a ticket the correct way!
I had the A1 until the recall. it was a brilliant little printer and just worked off the bat. I ended up opting to send it back (didn't want to wait for the fix) and with the discount given bought the P1S instead. they are expensive printers but i have to say i think they are worth it. i would definitely like to see bambu labs do a printer with a bigger build plate!
I love that you loved the A1 so much that you decided to use this as an opportunity to spend more money with them How often do you get a faulty product, the first time you use a company and decided from that faulty product, this company deserves more of my money! that's a statement I should have made in this video.... if i'd known this was happening. I may refer to this in the future.
@@FauxHammer haha yeah normally if something doesn't work right you avoid that product and brand but i figured the issue they had was because this was the almost first step into making bed slingers and it was only a teething problem. also the support they provided was A*. once the email went out telling everyone to stop and choose one of the two option i logged the call, got a response and everything was sorted pretty quickly. i just thought for what you get and the ease of use bambu labs was just the best choice... i did considered waiting for the replacement bed but honestly i was too impatient for that and i wanted to try some of the other types of filaments. also thought it would be way easier with something already enclosed and the X1 was just a tad too expensive for me, hence the P1S.
The A1 is my 5th printer and by far the best. All the others have been shown the door. I am glad to have paid more for quality of life that the A1 has given me. I want to design and print. Not fix and service printers. And yes a bigger printer would be great.
Definitely this. If you don't pay with money, you pay with time. And my time is more important to me than money these days. If I can afford the thing and one is cheaper but needs me to constantly nurse it, I'm always going to go the more expensive one.
Great video! Im assuming that space marine helmet at the end was printed on an A1. Coukd you tell me where to find the file and what filament you used?
I love this printer ive printed off tons of terrian for 40k and toys for the kid's its been great. I have zero interest in tinkering and this thing is amazing very tempted to pick up another one. The ams is great too for making toys and gift. Would recommend this to anyone
Love the videos. Want to get a 3d printer for my 12 year old and this could be it. Are 3d printers harmful and where would I get the STL for the Space Marine esque helmet?
I've had my A1 for a couple of weeks and it's bloody great, completely blown my Neptune 3 pro out of the water. Bought it just before the sale got announced. Pro tip: if anyone got theirs delivered after 20th May Bambu are giving gift vouchers for the difference in sale price if you get in touch with them
I'm intrigued by your comment. I have an N3P that I really like but am considering something new, preferably a core XY. Is the A1 THAT much better than the N3P?
I couldn't be more spot on about your thoughts, where as I started with that other brand and spent most of my time hoping for a successful print and not have to tinker with it, till I switched to the mini and then the bigger brother. I finally get to just make things and make them well. And when I have a problem, it's because I'm the idiot, not the machine...😂
@@FauxHammer this 💯. Instead of chasing the rabbit hole, back to printing!! I don't regret the frustration and learning from that machine, as it has set me up for super success with these A1 series machines, just wish I had made the jump at the mini release instead of waiting till a week before the big brother announcement. Either way, hats off to better and easier printing!!
Nice video thanks. I was in two minds of buying the A1 or the new Anycubic Kobra 3 combo. I liked both of them but I eneded up going for the Anycubic because their Ebay shop was offering it for the small price of £449 and Ebay was giving a 10% on top of that so only paid £404 for it The reason I went for the Anycubic is that included the dryer and the A1 did not and a very similar price, having said that the A1 might just be the next printer I buy cause I do like them.
Thanks for your excellent videos, they have helped me a lot, I am about to buy another bambu I have a p1s but I don't know if I should buy the same one which is an excellent machine and I have never had a problem with it or buy the a1 that is my dilemma. Greetings
You totally right. I mad ethe mistake to choose a 320x320 cheaper printer and the result is that i spend most of my time tweaking it more than using it really ... Considering switchg for a A1 until they release a larger one
Yes, I agree, I’m done with tinkering, I rather spend time designing for 3D printing. The X1C is a workhorse, I prototype, print, while printing prototype I work on my next design, when the prototype is done, I sent the next prototype. If the first prototype needs adjustment, I don’t have to wait to design or fix, my workflow is with no wait on the printer, or stop for fixing. Wish I had a second one.
I have an A1 and it’s great, be aware though, it has an issue with clumping if the first layer doesn’t stick. Gets this massive wad of plastic that breaks your fan and clogs up the entire hot end. So always check to make sure the first layer goes down.
That’s all printers, what PEI plate are you using? Texture or cool? And are you selecting the right plate in the slicer and cleaning the plate with ipa?
Before someone asks, this happened to me, I submitted a ticket, got a response within a week, and was sent a new hotend, heating element, and fan within 4 days of the response.
@@FauxHammertextured PEI plate that came with the printer. I usually keep watch and clean the plate with alcohol when there’s issues with the first layer. But this time I started a print and went to bed and woke up in the middle of the night to find a catastrophe. I have an ender 5 that will do this but I just get a giant spaghetti mess and not a giant blob that broke the cooling fan off. Main point is, it’s a known issue, Bambu made it right, make sure that first layer sticks before walking away.
Im really excited to pick one if these up and have a printer that just works. Im so sick of having to fix everything. My BIQU B1 seemed a good choice at the time but has had way more down time then up time.
as a newbie in 3D printing and after buying a messed up K1C, returning it and getting an even worse unit I think I'm getting the A1, I'm traumatized by the K1Cs lol thank you for the good review, I'm learning a lot through your channel =)
I was uming and ahing between the X1C and K1. So glad I went with Bambu in the end. Heard so many horror stories about the Creality machines. Worst I've had on the X1C was a bit of PETG that swelled outwards inside the extruder that I had to diassemble the head to remove. And even that was easy for my noob skill level. Great machines.
my first K1C's head was smoking when over 220°C (literally, visible smoke, I freaked out and returned it). Then I got the other one and it is totally crooked, shaking so much it knocked off stuff from my table..the first time I turned it on it made a noise so loud I thought it was going to explode lmao..It's working tho (last print failed but it was bad adhesion/my fault) but it came with some messed up screw holes and screw heads, dust, weird purple nozzle, crooked extructure, a lot of weird sounds that the previous one didn't do..I think they sent me an used unit, bad quality overall. I hate to return stuff, but I think this is a bomb in my lap waiting to explode, so I'll just return it and get the A1. I wish bambu lab's printers were cheaper in my country tho. The X1C is 2500 dollars here. The A1 is more expensive than the K1C lol!
@@Dreeye Yeah, Aussie here and the price tags are very high here too. It hurt the wallet, but I had the cash thanks to a big leave payout from work, so I could afford the splurge. And have not regretted it since.
@@tyrannicpuppy wow that's awesome! I wish I could afford one of these too lol maybe in the future. But for the reliability/quality bambu lab seems worth it! I can't wait to get mine heheh
I had a Creality Ender 3 V2 Neo for about a month and a half before issues started cropping up. Fortunately in the UK I can send it back as not fit for purpose as *Gasp* The extra grippy pad didn't grip, the memory card reader fell apart, the memory card itself corrupted, the heat alarms kept going off as too cold, removed thermistor, replaced it, now alarm going too hot, suddenly stops extruding after 2 layers unless I set it to 240C, then it stopped extruding after 15 layers. Yeah, it's gone back and as I packed it away, I noticed one of the bolts holding the z axis wheel had sheared. Spent £50 on trying to fix, found if I spent £50 more I would have been able to afford an A1. Sent it back as the trash it is and spend the extra £100 on something that will help me print, not expect me to fix at every issue.
I've been using the A1 mini for a few months now and just ordered the full size A1 with the ongoing sale. I've said it before: bambu changed the 3d printing landscape and kicked most of the other brands squarely in the cubes, and now they're scrambling to play catch up. I'm pretty sure a bigger bambu will be their next printer, but what I'm really excited for is a possible gen 2 of the P and X series with the tech that the A series. I swap nozzles a lot between 0.4 and 0.6 hardened for carbon fiber PETG, so that feature alone is what keeps me on the A series. A P series with A tech would be purchased with the quickness. Thanks for posting!
Yep, they’re playing catch up whilst completely missing the point…. Completely agree with those prediction of next printer and I each your holes if an x2 p2 at some point
I should have never bought the Artillery X3 Pro, it's the Microsoft Vista version of Artillery printers. But I wanted an upgrade from my original Ender 3, it had been a work horse for years. I don't know if you could have still called that printer an Ender 3 will all the mods I had on it, Microswiss direct drive, Microswiss all metal hot end, all metal extruder, rubber bushings instead of bed springs, second Z rod, octoprint via raspberry pi. Even after all those mods I still had to tinker with it on the daily to get passable prints, but it worked. I didn't even look at Bambu because the A1 mini had such a small build volume and I though the A1 was out of my budget. Well I struggled with the Artillery for like a month and a half and got very few prints that barely met passable. I was so upset with the Artillery that I rage bought the A1 combo, and now I'm so glad I did. The A1 is practically an appliance, it just works. That is what I wanted, an appliance. I wanted my hobby to transition from printer to printing if you get what I mean. I understand that shit happens and the A1 will give me a failure eventually, but in the week I've had it I have gotten more successful prints than the barely passable prints in the damn near 2 months of X3. At this price point I don't think anything is as solid as the A1. I'm not a Bambu fanboy thought, if Bambu pushes other brands to make their printers act like appliances I may switch up, only time will tell. Bottom line, stay far away from the Artillery X3 series. A friend of mine bought the Artillery X3 Plus and is having the same problems I did.
My safe word is "arse". Thanks to both of your A1 videos, I've committed to one (sith your link of course!), keep up the good work and out some pants on.
Ordered one this morning, £287!! Just the signal colour one, Dont need multicolour myself. Had the hard ship of Creality and Kingroon, BambuLab at that price, Had to be done.
as someone who bought the p1s previously and asked for support i got an answer within 24 hours. I think those are really special cases or people are just straight lying.
1) A1 won't print ABS which is important to me, but in every other way I'd love to buy it. Yes - I could buy an X1 Carbon, but I like the simpler AMS Lite of the A1 better than the larger longer feed one for the X1 printer. 2) I also received 24 hour supply from a support inquiry, but they took two goes to understand what I was asking. And it wasn't complicated - just asked if they intended to add FlashForge dual extrusion printers to those listed in Bambu Studio. (I have one of these for ABS dual printing, but its hard to design and use. Bambu Studio looked like it might be easier). They first answered that Bambu Studio didn't list other printers! When I corrected them, they came back that it would be referred to R&D and that was over 3 weeks ago.
"A1 won't print ABS which is important to me, but in every other way I'd love to buy it. Yes - I could buy an X1 Carbon," i have a P1S, and it prints ABS and ASA just great. and it's just a $100 more..
I've been teetering between the A1 and the P1S, and while the P1S is tempting with the extra material capabilities, and a smaller footprint, the easily swappable nozzles are a serious draw for the A1. There's a couple of weeks left in the current sale that will have me flipping between the two for a little while yet.
Hi Ross, I'm an ID10T I just purchased an A1 but forgot to use your link to give you credit. How can I rectify this? hopefully I can because your review was THE reason I decided to get this one.
I started with the K1c and love it!!! But I want to get into multi-color printing and being able to print helmets without breaking the bank. So far the A1 seems to meet every bullet point…besides being my first bed slinger.
You wouldn’t stretch to a P1s? K1 is great and especially for the price. But they already announced its runner up! As I alluded to in this video. WTAF Creality.! Support your printers!
I didn't see the STL mentioned for where you got that helmet. Can you please share? Also, I'm on mobile and there's no way to search the comments but I scrolled for a bit and didn't see it
Well you’ve convinced me, I was looking at the Bambu printers anyway but that hot end swap is a definite plus! Happy to order through your affiliate link, have to help out a fellow Nottingham printer and gamer 👍 Quick question, does the A1 not come with a spool holder if it’s not the combo?
Great Video. Couldn’t agree more with the quality of Bambu. Got the P1S and waiting on the A-1 mini from the anniversary sale. Love that helmet. Got the link?
Yeah all mine have been great. Even when they go wrong, they tell me what to do I honestly can’t remember where I got that helmet. I got it for my Neptune 3 over a year ago
He is mentioning the creality K1 (an enclosed printer) and the updated K1C. They updated it because the original K1 had an issue with the glass door being prone to shattering.
I've been thinking about getting "the entry" 3d printer for a long while now. Even as a person who loves to tinker, watching others print seemed like it would cost at minimum $200 (parts & labour) additional to get it to have a chance at being reliable. I will gladly work on it for a while couple times, but not forever. On top of that, potentially unreliable support and people advising to get it from distributors told me everything I needed to know. If I had easy access to Microcenter, I probably would've picked one up for $100. Full price? hell no. Now, questions for A1 mini 1) Can the hot end withstand being enclosed in 80°C+ long term? I would love to print ABS eventually and been thinking to enclose only the printing part (excluding MB, power supply, and xyz stepper motors). I've been trying to find the answer but could not find anything except Bambu advising to not put the entire printer in an enclosure. 2) Can ABS be printed on 80°C heating bed with an actively heated enclosure? if 100°C bed is a must, than I might just go A1
I have the Bambu Lab P1S Combo, A1 Combo, A1 Mini , K1 Max , Ender 3 V3 KE, Neptune 4 Plus and Max and a Sovol SV08 coming , BUTTT while they are on sale, I am so tempted to get the X1C solo not combo. Then Id have all the Bambu Lab. Ive always wanted the X1C really just to have and use to get the experience for my content.
I hope the next printer is a larger P1. The X1 is just too pricey for me. But a slightly more expensive P1 with larger build area would be a win. I also just love my P1S.
Do you have an initial build and setup guide for this printer (I assume from before the recall) as I need something quick and easy to use, and I have run out of patience with my Creality printer and this may be just what I am looking for?
I do t have one because Bambi made one themselves. Check this 6 minute guide. This isn’t like a Creality and endlessly levelling. You just build it and it works ua-cam.com/video/Lb-0C0a3j4g/v-deo.htmlsi=H8fMDR2vQFnBBBFp

If anyone can get the song reference from the video title, let me know in the comments!
Bambu Lab asked me to Make a Video about the bed replacement process, well I covered that, but just wanted to talk about why the A1 is still the only printer I'd recommend to beginners

Don't apologize. Your reviews are excellent. Haters will hate no matter what. Keep up the good work!
@@FauxHammer haha love your style.
Glad to hear it. I think I'm gonna go for the P1S.
Mine arrives tommorow, looking forward to the experice. Own 4 ender 3's and an Elegoo 4 Max...I'm done with the typical 3D printer....
Amazing!
If you purchased it after May 20th, let bambu know; they'll honor the current sale price.👍
@@NWGR 👍Thanks for the info but I got it in the beginning of the month. Still worth the price.
@@donald2167 For sure. 🙂
I have the mini and love it, but just ordered the full size A1 for the larger capacity.
Ive had my A1 since lauch. Got the new heatbead and installed it. Printer is an absolute beast. Like anything a good solid P.M. mindset is key to anything staying in good working condition. But just the base up this machine is well built. I can see this printer lasting me a long time.
That yearned replacement was easier than some extruder gear changes!!!
Amazing. I’m sorry you hit a Neptune 4. Mine was free and I hated using it. So I’m sorry you paid money for that pain
Thankyou!!!
The closest I’ve seen is the HeyGears Reflex. But that is so expensive and locked down by proprietary resin
Thanks. And I’m sorry about your AnkerMake. I do still like them fir the approach they are/were taking
Exactly this!!!! All of this
Hi Ross, I do resin printing, printing jewellery and I’ve never been interested in 3D printing fdm until ive seen your recent UA-cam videos on these fdm printers.
Hahah, yeah it’s so true. How can we still not have paper printers right!
Ahhhh that makes sense now. I do love DJI. I have one of their Gymbals
Mine is still on the way, and this video made me even more hyped about the machine!!
I ordered my A1 Sunday before this video. Thanks for confirming my bias! Oh, and it will be my first 3d printer.
Perfect, there will be some learning to do, but it’s basic.
Run a small test print first. There are multiple built in.
okay, everything else you mentioned aside... can we talk about how GOOD this printer looks??? like holy shit ive fallen in love with it and i saw it only 10 mins ago when your video started, so much so that im now considering selling my 6 month old E3 S1 Plus and getting this instead, based on aesthetics *alone*! their whole branding feels very Apple to me, and I love that.
My A1 was so good I got an A1 mini to print under it, and when the p2 comes out I'll get that too.
Bambu is doing some great stuff for sure. I really love my Prusa printers, and the mk4 is a huge quality of life improvement; I hope Bambu's leapfrogging encourages other brands (including Prusa) to step up their game.
I grabbed this as my first printer for minis terrain. Test print on the 0.08 mm layer hight "high quality" preset came out beautifully.
Great to hear!
Got my A1 before the recall and loved it for a few weeks. Returned it during the recall and upgraded to the x1 carbon. While I love the X1, I'm not gonna lie, I like the A1 a little better. The quick swap nozzles are an absolute game changer.
Yeah, totally agree
Used the link. Bought the printer. Mission accomplished! Getting into the scene in 1...2....3...
"Due to a recall on the whole product line" in b4 a certain percentage of toxic BBL fans going "well actually they didn't recall the A1 mini so " If they flock in, dont let the b****rds get you down, you're clear and coherent and well thought out in your covering of things, keep up the good work.
Don’t quote follow that, but thanks!!!
Models and action figures
Let’s have a world where people can choose to get the thing they want for their reasons and have that thing being the best fit their needs/wants
I have no objection to Vorons. It’s just not my thing. And that’s ok
I agree don't apologize. Your reviews are straight forward, raw, concise and to the point.
Thank you!
A1 owner here. I can only agree to the fullest. It is my 4th printer and I never wanna go back!
thanks!
I’ve seen a few comments like this. How good must a company be for people with faulty machines to decide to spend more money with that company…
Thanks mate, so many people have said this and it’s awesome!
I just got one for my first! Glad I made the right choice
What a blast always enjoy your accent and reviews. Now I need to update my goal list to include this BambuLab A1 Printer. : )
Hahah, thankyou!
this video came in jsut in time! i just suffered scrapping 2 pieces due to the heatbed issue, so im looking forward to recieving the replacement!
Yeah they have been so solid. The first printer company I’ve heard of that actually takes care of their customers
Great update. It's your honesty and candor that keeps me coming back for more.
Thankyou, that’s what I love doing. I’d rather just talk straight to people
I got into 3D printing by borrowing worn-out Ender V3, managed to print rc plane and boat but it requires constant fiddling and success ratio is low.
Yeah I have that issue too thanks to things like oil from fingerprints!
I love that you loved the A1 so much that you decided to use this as an opportunity to spend more money with them
How often do you get a faulty product, the first time you use a company and decided from that faulty product, this company deserves more of my money!
that's a statement I should have made in this video.... if i'd known this was happening.
That’s my thoughts exactly.. especially on the bigger printer…
Thanks for sharing
Will buy a Bambu as soon as they come out with a large format. Why they've waited this long is beyond me.
I expect the A1 recall has delayed them
I’m getting my A1 on Thursday and this will hype me up for it, even though it’s just a replacement guide. I can’t wait for it.
It’s not even that. It’s just me gushing over the A1
@@FauxHammerI’m going to continue gushing about it to my friends. It’s just great from everything I’ve seen.
Pro tip: if anyone got theirs delivered after 20th May Bambu are giving gift vouchers for the difference in sale price if you get in touch with them
Aww that’s so brill they do that!
I'm intrigued by your comment. I have an N3P that I really like but am considering something new, preferably a core XY. Is the A1 THAT much better than the N3P?
@@lionelkeeping5097 yes, it really is. Speed, ease of use, quality, all big improvements
100% this! i am also the idiot, but it's better to know that than spend all that time guessing
I got it a few days ago and it’s bloody amazing
Nice video thanks. I was in two minds of buying the A1 or the new Anycubic Kobra 3 combo. I liked both of them but I eneded up going for the Anycubic because their Ebay shop was offering it for the small price of £449 and Ebay was giving a 10% on top of that so only paid £404 for it The reason I went for the Anycubic is that included the dryer and the A1 did not and a very similar price, having said that the A1 might just be the next printer I buy cause I do like them.
I guess the best I can say is You get what you pay for. I hope that the Kobra 3 is better than what they did before, which is “ok”
I use my A1 solely as a TPU printer. Always got a spool in a dry box connected. All other tasks are assigned to my X1Cs, mostly since I prefer ABS. 🙃
Oh nice
Best purchases I did in the last decade imo
Yes, I agree, I’m done with tinkering, I rather spend time designing for 3D printing. The X1C is a workhorse, I prototype, print, while printing prototype I work on my next design, when the prototype is done, I sent the next prototype. If the first prototype needs adjustment, I don’t have to wait to design or fix, my workflow is with no wait on the printer, or stop for fixing. Wish I had a second one.
100% this!
Do think the a1 mini is to small or good enough just for a fun machine to use for fun and function?
That jet engine print is so cool
Thanks for the hot tip(s) on the Bambu A1, I bought one !
JEEZ! $50??
My BIQU B1 seemed a good choice at the time but has had way more down time then up time.
i feel you
as a newbie in 3D printing and after buying a messed up K1C, returning it and getting an even worse unit I think I'm getting the A1, I'm traumatized by the K1Cs lol thank you for the good review, I'm learning a lot through your channel =)
Oh hey… you spotted the exact brand (and printer series) I alluded to twice in this video!
Logo on the screen flip was amazing!
thanks my editor, he's amazing!
Man that space marine helmet is awesome!
Thanks, I love it!
@@FauxHammer and I, you 🫶
My safe word is "arse".
Nice pickup mate. And yeah. Multicolour is a. But if a faf imo
as someone who bought the p1s previously and asked for support i got an answer within 24 hours. I think those are really special cases or people are just straight lying.
That's been my experience too!
Yes - I could buy an X1 Carbon,"
i have a P1S, and it prints ABS and ASA just great. and it's just a $100 more..
Fantastic Video, Guy. Your content really does make me want to get into 3D Printing. Well done mate.
thanks mate, it;s the best time to do it now, it's easy.
I've been teetering between the A1 and the P1S, and while the P1S is tempting with the extra material capabilities, and a smaller footprint, the easily swappable nozzles are a serious draw for the A1. There's a couple of weeks left in the current sale that will have me flipping between the two for a little while yet.
i just ordered the A1 a week ago. Hopefully ill get the upgrades
You do, they fixed the retail ones ages ago. This was just for the early adopters
Hi Ross, I'm an ID10T I just purchased an A1 but forgot to use your link to give you credit. How can I rectify this? hopefully I can because your review was THE reason I decided to get this one.
Haha, you can’t. Well you could do a super thanks and tip me. But honestly mate I’m just happy you got the machine you wanted
@@FauxHammer A tip it is!
@@markhuseby8823 mate!!! That’s insane. Thankyou so much!!!! You did not need to do this! But I am so incredibly grateful to your for your support!!!
You are not a shiII, you are just realistic. These are awesome, polished, and almost too cheap!
Thanks agreed!
@@FauxHammer see it’s hard to choose man lol
I didn't see the STL mentioned for where you got that helmet.
Can you please share? Also, I'm on mobile and there's no way to search the comments but I scrolled for a bit and didn't see it
Well you’ve convinced me, I was looking at the Bambu printers anyway but that hot end swap is a definite plus! Happy to order through your affiliate link, have to help out a fellow Nottingham printer and gamer 👍
Quick question, does the A1 not come with a spool holder if it’s not the combo?
No, It has a spool holder which connects to the top bar
@@FauxHammergreat thanks, it’s not mentioned in their description or shown in the pics except in the add on list, but I assumed it had to be there…
Great Video. Couldn’t agree more with the quality of Bambu. Got the P1S and waiting on the A-1 mini from the anniversary sale. Love that helmet. Got the link?
Yeah all mine have been great. Even when they go wrong, they tell me what to do
I honestly can’t remember where I got that helmet. I got it for my Neptune 3 over a year ago
So I’m pretty new to 3d printing.. which company was he talking about just releasing a new pricier revision.. just to know what not to buy next😂
He is mentioning the creality K1 (an enclosed printer) and the updated K1C. They updated it because the original K1 had an issue with the glass door being prone to shattering.
Hehe, just as I predicted… someone else beat me to it
helmet size bambo would be amaizing with updated ams ill be in line to buy it
I've been thinking about getting "the entry" 3d printer for a long while now.
Full price? hell no.
Now, questions for A1 mini
1) Can the hot end withstand being enclosed in 80°C+ long term?
I’d I think I’d wait their next printer rather than get an X1 now
You get such a big discount when buying the combo, it might be worth getting the combo and selling the AMS to someone who want to do 8 colors.
I hope the next printer is a larger P1. The X1 is just too pricey for me. But a slightly more expensive P1 with larger build area would be a win. I also just love my P1S.
Agreed
I was going to get the P1 but man the A1 looks solid.
I’ll be honest I still prefer a p1. But would miss a couple of the A1’s newer features
I will be ordering one. Next week. Great vid
Thanks. Good to know..
I dont want tinkering anymore like the old days. Just want to print
Yep
Do you have an initial build and setup guide for this printer (I assume from before the recall) as I need something quick and easy to use, and I have run out of patience with my Creality printer and this may be just what I am looking for?
I do t have one because Bambi made one themselves. Check this 6 minute guide.
This isn’t like a Creality and endlessly levelling. You just build it and it works

Holy cow I just learned that the screen swivels!!!
Can you add the AMS system after as an add-on after you purchase the normal A1?
yeah, at any point
