It was sad news indeed. This was my second posting in Germany in 1979. I had a great time, great base. David Fletcher, Davidson/Davison, Ken etc me and others whose name escape me now enjoyed this base. Back then we could only just about get a signal for BFBS TV. I must be the kiss of death to the RAF as all my bases closed, Laarbruch, Gutersloh, Upavon, Staff College, Bracknell. A good series for BFBS would be to visit old bases.... as they did with Laarbruch. Jeffrey {Jeff} Morris

We was posted there in 78 or 79 as my father was in the RAF.
My first posting overseas was to 4 sqn at Gutersloh and I loved it.
Ian Stewart, a rare man, who looked after his troops.
Remember Gp Cpt Gav… he gave me my Gulf War medal… did 3 years at Gut… early 90s… loved it 👌👌👌
