Can you imagine for a moment if everyone everywhere had 1/2 the compassion for another person as this community does for this little girl.....what a wonderful world we would be living in....
As someone who is studying American Sign Language 🤟🏼 in college, this story made me proud to study 📖 it more and more!! Truly beautiful and touching story that I’m going to share with my class on Tuesday!! ❤️❤️🤟🏼🤟🏼☺️☺️
I have no friends, family members who are deaf but I decided to learn ASL because I feel the world needs to be equal when the Deaf community has not gained enough accessibility. I have helped quite a lot of people who are struggling with communication and I feel really good that they aren't being left out. I think everyone should take their chance and time to at least know the basic signs for the Deaf, they would be super appreciated!
This made me cry growing up in the deaf community being partially deaf I've seen kids upset because they can't talk to people but I also know they were pretty risiliant kids the fact they did that made me so happy
That is awesome! Her little face just shines when she communicates with her neighbors. What wonderful people they are for doing this for this precious little girl. Everyone deserves to have conversation either by hearing or signing. ❤️❤️❤️
This touches my heart so much because I myself am deaf in my left ear and hard of hearing in my right. A lot of people don't even like to have to repeat themselves when talking to someone Deaf or HOH so for these neighbors of this beautiful little to go out of their way to learn sign language is such a blessing to her. God bless you all! ❤️
I learned from an ASL teacher named Bill Vicars (he has lessons on UA-cam and also Lifeprint) that babies can learn ASL even before they learn to talk, because they are always moving their hands and fingers so much!
That is beautiful, this is how we should all be. And gives it thumbs down. Wish my grandchildren lived in a neighborhood like this. Very heart warming story
Imagine this!! I grew up in Newton and couldn’t be more proud that a neighborhood would do this for that precious little Samantha and her special family. . This is so inspiring and should give us all hope for the future. I am overcome with emotion and wish I too could thank each of those wonderful people. Bless them all. L’ Chaim. “It takes a village to raise a child, as the expression goes.” Thank you Steve Hartman and CBS for sending out the call. And I’m just saying… I probably wouldn’t make a casserole… maybe cookies?
Such an amazing blessing to happen in this day and age. I wish that more neighborhoods were like this one, where people remember what community is all about.
The family is so lucky to have such people around. They ain't leaving the community until the kid goes through college. The girl has her shoulders looked for her life.
Awww that's pretty cool this community learned american sign language for this couple precious little girl whom is deaf so they could communicate with her.
As a blind person Who is constantly judged by people around me in people who are famous like the breakfast club the story is so amazing and it brings tears to my eyes. I wonder where the neighborhood is. I feel that I can feel comfortable there.
Omg this is absolutely wonderful God bless this community God bless the instructor. God bless this family and little baby Anna. I hope and pray for a miracle. That one day this child will be able to hear..
@@MyWasteOfTime remember that the video is designed for hard of hearing/ deaf users and those people are mad because a video designed for deaf people and should have added captions and the fact that cbs doesn’t do this regularly let alone videos design for deaf people, it frustrates them. It makes the deaf/Hard of hearing community angry is that the company doesn’t realize that a video that is about our community should have cc’s. I know it seems like I am going on a rant but majority of news videos don’t have captions so it makes people feel not included especially on a video about deaf people.
I know for sure that i didn`t put Onions in my Lunch today. Very moving and beautiful report, again, that shows there are still great people around us.
How wonderful the effort of the neighbors to be able to talk to the little girl. And I was shocked to know that sometimes not even the parents of deaf children are interested in learning liguagem signs that sad thing for the child.
This is the kind of community I want to raise my kids in someday.
For real 💯
Can you imagine how awesome it's going to be for her as she grows up in a community that she can communicate with on her own?! BEAUTIFUL!!
myrealityzone I just had a vision of your comment. Absolutely amazing
Yuhjmnjnubfv
Are there any houses for sale in this neighborhood? These are the kinds of people I want to live around.
For millions of dollars!
Amen
That was a beautiful story! And I love how he tears up at the end.
He is not the only one
I quite hate the TV but I am hooked to Steve's Stories..
Can you imagine for a moment if everyone everywhere had 1/2 the compassion for another person as this community does for this little girl.....what a wonderful world we would be living in....
You said it perfectly

I know the video is a year old but this is one street away from me. I love this city and I love this community :)
We can be such a beautiful species when we want to be!! This is a beautiful example of the meaning of "It takes a village to raise a child".
Love this story so much and also love the fact that the anchor cries too on multiple occasions
This is so beautiful showing love ❤️
We ABSOLUTELY LOVE Steve Hartman and this segment " on the road". ..PLEASE always have it ....its So upbeat, uplifting, etc. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I swear to god Steve Hartman is a national treasure.
I'm not crying, I'm not crying...me eyes just watering 😢😭😭😭
This is insane, god bless that young girl and her neighbors ❤️
That is awesome! Her little face just shines when she communicates with her neighbors. What wonderful people they are for doing this for this precious little girl. Everyone deserves to have conversation either by hearing or signing. ❤️❤️❤️
Watching her sign is so adorable ❤️❤️
Sign language should be taught in school period it is such a great skill to have and to hang on to
Beautiful story that I wish had Closed Captions for deaf or hard-of-hearing viewers!
I know the reason I watched it was because I am hard of hearing/partially deaf and i am learning the basics of asl
Even the anchor was teary eyed.
That’s probably one of the most beautiful little girls I’ve ever seen in my life. And stop cutting the damn onions people!
Wish my siblings had this grow up, they’re both deaf and love when they meet someone who knows sign language
This is how the world should be. Everybody helping one another in time of need, just imagine!!!!
Very moving story brought me to tears of joy.

Wow, they’re seriously amazing.
ARE U KIDDING ME ??? A 2 YR OLD BABY DOING ASL? love the people in the community... A big thank you
Wish we had people like you in my country.
I learned from an ASL teacher named Bill Vicars (he has lessons on UA-cam and also Lifeprint) that babies can learn ASL even before they learn to talk, because they are always moving their hands and fingers so much!
A world is a better place with being KIND to one another.
As a person who is not deaf but has known ASL for about 14 years I am absolutely overjoyed by this. What an amazing community!
That is beautiful, this is how we should all be. And gives it thumbs down. Wish my grandchildren lived in a neighborhood like this. Very heart warming story
These people are so nice.
My mom just showed me this and I'm so grateful to see there's still hope. My parents grew up in Newton so this is extra awesome. ♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️

How lovely
As a blind person Who is constantly judged by people around me in people who are famous like the breakfast club the story is so amazing and it brings tears to my eyes. I wonder where the neighborhood is. I feel that I can feel comfortable there.
After all these years, it still gets to me.
Baffling that nobody at CBS thought to include closed captioning!
Quite the irony..
Well, it only takes 30 MINUTES to caption a 3 minute video...for me anyways. They can’t caption everything, unfortunately
For this video, can captioning be edited by viewers?
Beautiful people.
I can see that the news anchor was deeply moved towards the end of the broadcast.
I love all people for their humanity 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝!!!!!!
Omg this is absolutely wonderful God bless this community God bless the instructor. God bless this family and little baby Anna. I hope and pray for a miracle. That one day this child will be able to hear..
What a lovely thing to do! 🙏🏻

Love is the more excellent way.
The reporter even cried..that my friend is Steve on the road....thank CBS for reminding us our humanity
That's really makes my cry ❤️that's so unbelievable
That’s beautiful.
Beautiful. Warms the heart.
How could 8 people dislike this video. Boggles the mind!
I am hard of hearing and the reason is they didn’t put Closed captions on for deaf viewers about a story that invokes deaf people.
@@wickitywackjack3749 How about just asking them to add CC in a comment instead of disliking the video? But to each their own...

I know for sure that i didn`t put Onions in my Lunch today.
Very moving and beautiful report, again, that shows there are still great people around us.
This is just wonderful!
Loving your neighbor as yourself!!!
How wonderful the effort of the neighbors to be able to talk to the little girl. And I was shocked to know that sometimes not even the parents of deaf children are interested in learning liguagem signs that sad thing for the child.
