Love that Ryan does a minor bit on Dune trivia. Now I get to mention that, well actually, Sci-Fi channel did "Children of Dune" years back which covered Leto II getting covered in worm spawn which is what, eventually, turns him into the God Emperor man\worm. He still has vestigial arms and legs, which implies he still has a spine (so still a vertebrate). Best Dune reference in pop culture was an episode of Billy and Mandy where Mandy is the God Emperor and Death is her Duncan Idaho.

crabs in a bucket refers to how if they worked together they could climb out easily, but they're all blindly clawing at each other trying to climb out but they end up just pulling each other back into the bucket. no one gets out
