      1. I got a SIM card in each country I went to
      2. Depends quickest probably plane, but bus or trains depending where you are
      3. I never had anything stolen in hostels and I had a lot of expensive camera gear, just be cautious lock valuables in lockers and your other stuff like clothes won’t be touched don’t worry!

Malaysia is an absolutely class country which is often over looked by many backpackers (probably because it doesn't have the drinking culture which some asian countries have) but you can still find a good party, its ridiculously cheap, its stunning and there's so much to see and do! KL is brilliant and East malaysia (Borneo etc) is also brilliant.

Sometimes it is better to be under rated than over rated. Tourism comes at a cost to nature especially the pristine islands.

@@andrewj3177 maybe not ridiculously, slight exaggeration but still very cheap vs UK prices! 6 Ringgit for a bowl of Nasi Goreng and a bottle of water in a cafe. You cannot eat out anywhere in the UK for £1 with a drink.

    Great tips Joel mate.
Being from the UK myself, SE Asia is my favourite region for travel. I have been to Malaysia 5 times, Thailand 4 times, Singapore 3 times, Philippines and Indonesia twice each. I am hoping to go to Indonesia again, Malaysia and Thailand one more time, and Vietnam for the very first time. SE Asia has everything to offer with amazing megacities, mountains, waterfalls, stunning tropical beaches, various cultures and religious sites, incredible jungles and fauna, and amazing food. My top 3 favourite cities visited are KL, Bangkok and Singapore, and Jakarta is high on the list too

It'll actually only take effect if the food is still in the stomach. Because it's indigestible. For example, if you take one intending to cure a hangover it won't do anything as the alcohol has already been absorbed a long time ago. But I guess it can be really helpful if you start feeling unwell in the next hour or two after you eat.
