    It's always neat to see how different people interpret things. For example, I might have had my character wonder why the gas tank was almost empty, considering he'd filled it just prior to going out last night. Then the "carry riches" would have been the discovery of something extremely valuable left in the car by... someone. But whom? As he pondered this, he might start having odd flashbacks/ half-memories of the night before, but nothing makes sense, as if he's looking at someone else's life (neglect reality) and so on.

    Since you got a no I would interpret "carry riches" to mean he lost his waller at some point last night and didn't realize it until this morning when he figured out he needed gas.

      I've never played a tabletop roleplaying game before. Been wanting to learn but figuring out how to do it, and do it solo has been a challenge. This video was a major help. Made me realize the game ststem rules are less important to the story than I realized. The "Fate Chart" is a major help. ;)

    Heh, at the 'Carry Riches' part my mind also went straight to the money transport trucks. My thought was either an accident or even a robbery. I love the GME it has given me so many great events during my soloing so far as well as birthed two NPCs that became PCs. 🙂

      @@wilonascave Yea, he likes to start the same way each time (he's a fan of Octonauts and always wants to have a story based off of his favorite episode) so Mythic is a great way to change things up as I tell it to him. He's been getting very excited about not knowing the outcomes and asking "did we do it?". What I like is that I can also run a story ahead of time if i know we won't have time/space for an interactive story.

    This is really inspiring for me as an aspiring screenwriter, the ability to turn storytelling into something that can be enjoyed and interactive (this wasn’t the best example, but I could see it as an opening exposition to a larger story). I am very lucky I found this hobby, although I did not know it as a hobby, I thought I made it up myself when I was very young. Solo RPG has helped me immensely in school because I never had “writers block” and that’s how I write my stories in my notebooks or selling them is by rolling the dice to progress the narrative forward. I am just as much intrigued by the story as much as the reader.

    this is my confusion about whether the car starts or does no start using the fate chart. I get it that you predetermined the chances of the car start as 75% - likely that it will start. But my confusion is --- you get a 78. which is to the right of the fate score. How does this mean it WON'T start. is it from 15 - 75 is a yes and from 75 - 96 is a no? hope that you can explain a little better

    I have another question for you. at 10:14 you made what you called an "Action" you continued to roll for the "Action" and "Subject" table, are those house rules you made up or is that in the rule book some place. I'm reading the rules again for a second time and so far it looks like you only roll for the "Event Focus Table" when you get doubles that are the same number as the chaos track or under it, so example, the chaos track is at 5, so if you roll 11,22,33,44,55, you can roll the event focus table, and then you have to roll for action subject, I can't find anywhere that says you can roll just for action and subject... I know all tabletop rules are flexible and we are encouraged to play it how you want, but I was just curios if that's a house rule or is there a section in the book that says to do that.

    • @wilonascave
      @wilonascave  2 роки тому

      Just watched that timestamp, I did an Action/Subject to make the story random. If not the. It would seem as though I am just telling a story from my own head. And yes the rules that you stated are correct. But even from the creator of Mythic posted once on FB that if your story is getting dull, then roll on the event focus or go straight to Action/Subject

      @KaijudoMaster11 2 роки тому +1

      @@wilonascave Oh I totally get why you did it and it made sense to me, I was just hoping it was part of the official rules because I like the idea, it seems like it should be in the book because if you want a little more random and some more detail instead of Yes/No, it makes sense to roll for Action/Subject, but the Event Focus part throws it off if you just looking for some random fun but not have your story go way off the rails with a new NPC showing up or a flash back or something wild like that lol.... I'm going to adopt that rule in my adventures lol

    Carry riches seems obvious to me. The guy lost all money at that party (stolen?). He have no money to get gas, so have to carry his valuable item to pawnshop

      I really wish I didn’t do it so late in the night. I probably could’ve came up with a more dynamic story but at least it showed people that even if you’re sleep deprived you can still make a story haha!

      @@wilonascave Really enjoying what you do. Coming from a background with no group play experience, it's helpful to hear your thought process when soloing. I've used Mythic with 5e and Ironsworn so far and it's sometimes hard to get those creative juices flowing!

      This video was wonderful motivation for solo roleplaying - I always overthink it which takes all the fun away but I was grinning as you turned the mundane into the entertaining (and I was hoping epic - I really wanted the extreme no of declining the managerial job to be an epic tirade about the company failing to pay its employees sufficiently and how this is the rot at the heart of the company etc. - and he has this mysterious ledger of the widely varying and largely unjust salaries of the company, and how he's going to air that dirty laundry if he's not given a spot on the board of directors post haste)

      No problem, it seems like a lot of people enjoy this so maybe I’ll continue doing stories like this and maybe some more adventurous ones just using the Fate chart and random tables. And like you mentioned, I wanted to prove to people that you could just make a story sort of interesting with a very boring setting
