Ormonde is necessary to the guards. Every so often, it is good to remind tourists not to behave stupidly and show respect. It is not Disneyworld.

Hi. Do you think it's okay for strangers to come up to a strange horse and maul it? That what happens here. People do what they want to these horses when the guards are told to not yell or correct people. Is that fair? They have 3 guards who will protect the horses no matter what, the others don't. Ormond demands respect from people. They STILL continue to tease her.... They need to take a picture and move on. OR do you believe it's Disneyland where misbehaving is a must. They are serving soldiers who some people don't respect.

It amazes me that you can look in Ormonde's eyes and actually see him scheming "Oh good, tourons to play with," (with his teeth), then delivering his brand of "Hello, I am the great Ormonde...come closer, I dare you." and they still offer themselves up as human sacrifices. it makes no sense whatsoever. The trooper (the one in the saddle) is an amazing horseman.
What a fabulous job that Trooper did in controlling Ormonde. I've loved watching his antics, and that vibe he gives to stay away. Big respect to both Troopers
What I don't understand is what people get out of standing next to a horse for a photo. Stop filming life. Starting enjoying it.
I love Ormonde, he keeps the tourists in line. I noticed the trooper pulled him further back in the box so he couldn't reach so many people. Tourists need to learn to read the signs.

Thanks John & Ormonde. I was in need of a bit of cheering up today and watching Ormonde demonstrate his opinion of the tourists was just what I needed.
At least he's giving his fellow trooper something to occupy him for an hour.
I suspect Ormonde is one of those horses who puts his trust only in the humans he knows. He may have lost certain parts of his anatomy but he's still a stallion in temperament when he needs to be.

Ormonde is his usual "one-horse show" self😅😅 ("don't know, don't care, stay away from me"😅) The judges at the Elizabeth Cup probably saw some of his shenanigans, but if you remember, he refused to stay in his designated location (on the second row, first from the left) and moved around, away from the row, and in the designated position (he didn't sit straight, but in all other positions)😅 He made five other horses restless and caused that little commotion. its interesting watching how different troopers handle Ormonde, this is the only trooper I've seen who actively pulls at the reins when ormonde goes for someone lol I've seen others who don't do that at all and just let him do his thing, some who do it few times and then this trooper who did it all the time! lol although my favourite trooper I've seen on Ormonde is that female guard who's usually on him.. some guards just match certain horses more and i think her and ormonde pair very well, she also appears the most at ease on him (i remember one of the troopers saying ormonde was 12..)
Yeah horses are just like people. They might get on fine with most of their colleagues but there’s always gonna be one or two that just “gel” better, that “work” right off the bat.
