I want to say thank you to the gentleman for making the guard aware of something that needed attention! This touched my heart. I do however feel that there needs to be a new way of alerting someone for help! You shouldn't have to press the button again and again to get help. What a wonderful guard! You could see him getting anxious as he was very concerned about his horse, and no one came for some time, yet he remained calm and collected.

@DonnaCsuti-ji2dd it's actually possible that the bit in the horse's mouth was one of the types that have a flavour to them that the horses really like. I went on a guided trail ride a year or so ago, and the woman who owned the horses told me she used certain bits for her horses that taste like licorice, so rather than being a nuisance of having an odd shaped metal object Lin their mouths, the bit was kind of like a treat, similar to sucking on a hard candy

Being raised and working at a horse ranch , there are symptoms the horse can be dehydrated . If his mouth bleeds it’s a sign that the hores is in a very stressful situation. The observing man pointed to his nose and the horse. I feel the horse was having blood from his nose due to possible dehydration and stress.

@SagPegasus Man points to his own nose and says " He's Bleeding !" at the same time. Common sense tells me he's talking about the horse. Iv had horses all my life and Iv seen a case of tongue over the bit, they don't stop throwing their head around. This horse looks relaxed to me ( tired / unwell ). A couple of these horses quite often yawn while on Duty... and hang tongue out. However I don't know what happened back in the stable yard. Do you know ?

@@SagPegasus The visitor 100% rubbed his own nose while telling the guard his horse was bleeding....!! If the horse would have been bleeding on his mouth then he would have rubbed his mouth while telling him his horse was bleeding....!!

The police are there within seconds when it’s a problem for them to deal with. Perhaps soldiers take their time responding because they know if human life is at risk the police will be on to it. So they think anything which can’t be dealt with by the police can’t be that urgent. Not good, I agree.

The guard will only press the alarm if he considers it to be an emergency. The response from the guard commander/ orderly officer/ Regimental Orderly Sergeant Major was disgraceful. This soldier could have been under attack and requiring immediate response. Get a grip and sort out the support mechanism for your soldiers on duty. David retired, Sgt Major

I think faulty button. I think they have done a bad job maintaining the horse guard area. Doors need painting, stone needs pressure washing. I believe high awnings should be installed to protect from sun and rain. The signage could be properly mounted..and sandwich boards in different languages with the rules and warnings written on them. Also mobbing or blocking the horse should not be allowed nor pole extensions on cell phones near guard or horse.
