The MiG in SB still slaps. In RB, I've had trouble lately. The R-60M is simply not competitive anymore. I don't own the ML but I have used the MLA for a long time. Still love the platform, but I only use it in SB for obvious reasons.
From a sim standpoint the flight model nerf wasn’t the end. It was noticeably strong dog fighter and post nerf is still good enough to win any fights if you play it smartly. The end of the mig23 to me is the nerf to the radar. Removing switching to MTI mode and being stuck with SRC is terrible.
Agreed, fm nerf is big but it still outrates everything below 12.0 (with previous flight mode it was outrating the pre nerf gripen lol), while losing the ability to manually use mti is massive
I was clapping F-16s with it like a little god. Massively over the top. Every bit as good as the basic Mig-29. I unlocked the Mig-29 and Su-27 trees in 2 weeks clapping F-14s, F-16s and F-15s among others with the ML in Sim. 300 and 500% boosters baby. So yeah. People are gonna drop to their knees and cry that their SL printer just got raided by FSB. It's now where it should have been 3 friggin years ago. I'll be honest, the biggest disappointment and I am disappointed a bit, the radar took a nasty hit. Now it performs like a Gen 3 jet radar rather than as good or better than the Mig-29 radar. As far as handling, I never dogfight. Hit and run. You don't dogfight F-16s in a Mig-23 and get away with it. Also with multipathing almost done for, I can't sneak away under an invisible invulnerability cloak anymore so clapping Gen 4 and running away laughing isn't really viable anymore. They can actually respond now. So I still use my ML but strictly in 11.3 fights and occasionally 11.7 when I want to try my luck against F-14s. Yes it's still worth it, it just isn't broken OP anymore. I just ran a quick 30 minute Sim match on Winter Stalingrad map, no boosters, just my premium account, 11 kills against like jets, 340,000 SL and 60,000 RP. Imagine 500% boosters with that. And now that multipathing isn't busted, I was bagged 3 times by F-4S Phantoms with AIM-7F Sparrows. I'm still not acclimated to the fact the Phantoms can actually use those missiles effectively now. I'm used to almost 5 years of broken SARH missiles. In other words, the F-4S Phantom is actually worth getting now as well.
As someone whos been playing for 8 years, here are the most dominant premium tanks/planes: F5C is excellent in both air and ground rb and can multi-role as a ground pounder with awesome payload options. Leo 2A4 is the best 10.3 in the game right now - superb mobility, gun handling, armor and survivability as long as you play it efficiently. JA35XS Draken is a better version than tech tree and can easily out-dogfight everything, but you must learn the weird guns and how to manage your energy (as with any jet) T-55AM-1 is one of the best grinders for Russia. Gets laser rangefinder + strong APHE/APFSDS + ATGM with somewhat good armor and mobility. Kfir Canard is possibly the greatest SL grinder if you like Air RB - Israel's air tree is extremely boring though and nothing stands out at top tier. Click-Bait is pretty strong but it will be without a lineup for MONTHS as you grind in the highly cancerous top tier environment. If you at least have the M1 Abrams unlocked, then I would recommend. XM-1/KVT is good but not great. You need to have map knowledge to make them work best. CV90105 is okay, really strong gun/mobility, but it's a huge target and gets 1 shot by everything The mid ones are: A5C, F4S, TURMS, Type 96A (P), Su-39, Su25k, Mig-21 Bis Lazur-M, F104S TAF, Leo L/44, Type 16 (FPS), Mig 23 ML, Mirage F1C, A-6E TRAM and the helicopter packs. They are okay, but they all severely suffer in uptiers and/or if you are a noob. The worst of the worst are the ones not mentioned. They will make you want to uninstall and kys because even in downtiers, they just aren't good. My bottom 2 premiums I wouldnt even play if gifted to me are F4J (UK) and the Tornado IDS. Both are absolutely terrible in both Air and Ground RB.
The F-4S is really strong if used right. Doesn't have the performance of the F-5C but simply has more of everything else. I've even managed to take on a MiG-29 in Sim in a rate fight and come our victorious with a gun kill. I have both and I only use the F-5 when a clan Mate wants to fly 10.3.
I would put F4S instead of F5C, F5C is too limited, people want premiuns to grind and thats what F4S does better. I even talked with a guy that felt scammed because he saw everyone talking good about the F5C and he bought it and we compared stats and he almost cried knowing that i was making so much more with the F4S (i had 4x more RP then him and 2x more SL than him), and btw we were almost the same skill level. We need to start doing videos showing stats instead of "yeah its a fun plane, buy it"

Personally I think the MiG 23 ml is fine I still gets kills in every game, yes it may be more sluggish and more realistic to real life which makes it not as good as it used to be but she still is the best jet to use to grind the soviet tech tree:)
I got it and its got bad radar, weak flight performance, rwr practically useless. Its pretty good in a downtier if you manage to get one but not likely. If you manage to get a lock and launch the r-24r at ~5km its a very good missile definite russian bias because the missile still tracked and killed someone even without a lock ????
I want to buy it, I need some help researching the tiers VII and VIII but waaay too many people say it is bad and not worth it for me to be comfortable spending money on it. I am conflicted.
For sure the best it wasnt, F4S can multirole, can kill, can bomb and can kill ground, thats a good plane and good grind, only took me less than 200 matches to reach top tier, while that i had to get 400 in mig23 bc you only can dogfight. And you really feel the difference from the mig23 that was before, now radar locks usuly suck

The mig's radar works like this irl so I dont think they changed it back. Ai detection and tracking is bugged, sometimes radar don't see AI planes
After the nerfs I no longer use Mig-23ML to grind, now I'm using Yak-141 to grind

yep, basically a death sentence to the radar missiles on it. It locks onto the chaff even without the enemy notching.
