Since I’m getting repeat comments on the matter: Yes I tried “kill stealing” at 1:30. My stance on kill stealing at top-tier is as follows: Kill stealing is just a part of top-tier. That is the nature of point and click missile combat. It happens to me, it happens to you, and we know all too well 90% of our teammates would’ve done the same thing if they were me. I’m not going to miss out on neuron activation from the funny sound after getting a kill because I’m worried about being the “honorable” teammate when the overwhelming majority aren’t anymore anyway. Aside from that, in this very clip you can see the target shoot a missile while he’s on fire, allegedly “dead“ if somebody can still shoot missiles at your teammates, they’re still a threat to the team. In non-missile combat kill stealing is much more frustrating, and I refrain from doing it. The kills take more effort, skill, work, time, etc. and the threat of a severely damaged enemy to your team is much lower when they don’t have 30G all aspect missiles. Robbing someone the satisfaction of a kill that they put way more work into after a dogfight than they do at top-tier when the target isn’t even a threat is much more understandable to me. But in top tier, everybody steals, the targets are still threats until they’re dead, and less goes into actually getting the kills - since the only “skill” that goes into getting the kills is determining whether or not they are paying attention to you.
It was on sale for 35 bucks a couple weeks ago. And I did not even bother thinking about it and bought it. Grinded the Flanker, Fulcrums and Eagle with the remaining premium time in 14 days. One of the best purchase I've made in 10 years of playing the game.
I have MLA version in the German tree since the start of December. You can’t get anything done as you will always face 18 enemies all lobbing irccm missiles at you.
Bought this in the most recent Christmas sale, and it's been easily the best purchase I've made as far as premiums go. I started from pretty much nothing in the soviet tech tree to having the su27 in two weeks, and I definitely could've gotten it sooner if I had more time to grind. I've hovered around a 2kd in this thing, and I'm an average to maybe slightly above average pilot. Can't recommend enough to those who have experience in top tier.

Indeed. I got it and 341 games later I got the Su-27. I was at rank 3 starting research into Rank 4 when I got it lol. Took about 2 weeks. Depending on how much was played each day.
i got free talisman on the older brother mig-23m a long time ago when ussr basically has the worst toptier even against minor nations. decided to use it for flanker grind because if im going to die early every game i might as well fly out the plane that i used to love despite all its shit characteristic. unlocked Su-27 in 3 days of normal people gaming session with mostly 1 kill games. yeah i guess the flogger family are just awesome like that
as someone who's flown the MiG-23M for pvp since it got added, the MiG-23ML and even the 23M are honestly really decent. you never ever see it happen in top tier air rb, especially with how your average player in the ML is, but the Flogger airframe if flown properly with wings out and taking proper lines can rinse the hell out of things like Viggens, F-5E/Cs, J35Ds in a 1v1 and absolutely distroys similar airframes like the Phantom. in some cases i would even go so far as to say it could face up against a Mirage 2K 1v1 if you made absolutely no mistakes
When the 14A came out I started to preset the sweep all the way out. So with the press of a button I can pull harder than tomcats and out maneuver them for a few passes. You have to know the speed though otherwise you’ll force a wing rip instead of an overshoot lmao
@@SteelxWolfI also do that, I wish there was a way to start a match with 0% preset without needing to do it manually. It is amazing in a dogfight but the need to get your wings out before you start fighting means that in fights where you aren't the first to engage you're screwed.
@@SteelxWolf funny enough, if you mirror this IN the tomcat yourself, you either rip your wings up or you get nasty, NASTY tight turns and devilish results in a dogfight, especially if you go balls to the wall and put flaps out- as the tomcat can leave takeoff flaps out almost up to 850kph IAS, but those obv drain that speed very fast personally i prefer to stay in manual the whole time, but i dont play air RB regularly anymore and mainly just go around doing small scale or 1v1 combat in custom battles as i can find it
I recently got the MiG-23MLA and imo it's barely playable. Not because it's a bad plane, but simply because 12.3 exists. Both the planes and the pilots just make your life hell in the 23, since everyone clumps together in the center of the map into one big furball that you can't even get close to without having several IRCCM missiles launched at you. The few times (few as in like 1 in every 10 games) I've gotten 12.0 it did surprisingly well. Honestly looking forward to playing it again once 11.3 is cleansed of AIM9Ms and R73s.
Fun fact at close ranges like 5km or about 8km the r24 is on par with r27er the booster of the r24R is 50000kn and 27er is 53000kn same burn time so you really just get less turning 27er for whole 1.0 br
MiG-23ML owner here, used it to finish the grind that the Su-25K couldn't. Ended up working pretty well. Second best MiG-23 behind the MLD. I'm pretty alert with my situational awareness, but im not gonna lie, I've caught a lot of R-24R's and T's as I've been grinding the Chinese lines, its the only thing I go hard after if I see it.
@arkaasa at the time, basebombing at 10.0 was really easy. At this point, unless you think you're absolutely useless at air-to-air combat, I'd go with the MiG-23.
Got my first 8k game with this thing, used Ts at the start then Rs when the enemy team dwindled, it's surprisingly balanced and fun to fly and fight against.. Unlike some.
This pushed me to pick it up. Despite it's changes since this video released, I'm starting to love this thing. Picked up a 5 kill air RB, raking in 95k SL and 35k research. Absolute goat with the JBAND RF, can really play the plane to it's strengths when a lot of targets are completely unaware until it's too late lol.
I'm actually surprised how well the radar does at low altitude, I've been slammed by R24s at near tree top level and they just stick on me rather than dropping to the dirt
He's using a combination of radar and IR tracking system along the video so it's not just radar alone also there're different R24s. There's R24R which is radar guided and still hits the ground if you're close to it and R24T which is IR guided so you can fly low all you want but it won't save you but flares can help with that one.
@@nikelon8227 I meant R24R's as I was talking about radar performance, and I meant in general with my experience fighting MiG-23ML's. Yeah Seek is using a combo and it works well, but just straight radar and R24R I've been killed a handful of times at treetop when it should lost to ground clutter.
where have you been in my 2k hours of War Thunder? i had no idea that some aircraft couldn't detect your radar if it was in a certain band until the algorithm showed me in this vid. You definitely deserve my sub and like; this helped me out when I thought I already knew everything about top tier ARB
Not sure if it still functions this way in WT specifically, but the SPO-10 RWR on this aircraft is technically 8 directional, a lock to the 12,3,6 or 9 o'clock should be illuminating the two corresponding sectors, e.g a 12 o'clock lock shoud be illumiating both front sectors of the RWR, from the 3 it should illuminate both right sectors etc. i recall it working this way before the RWR rework recently but i wouldn't be surprised if it was screwed up in one of the recent updates. Regardless, it's still subpar for maintaining situational awareness and should only be used to roughly locate potential threats, while the good old mk1 eyeball is better for launch detection.
something actually good about what ML and the MLA teaches you with the bad RWR is awareness, I had so much fun playing the MLA while grinding the whole german tech tree
Great vid as usual. One thing I didn't hear mentioned is that the missiles are just so much better than NATO counterparts at equal BR. Having ground the Swedish and Japanese tech trees, the number of times I've died to head-on R60s at point blank where I wouldn't have been able get an equal shot off with AIM-9Ls/RB-74s is the most frustrating part of fighting against MiGs. That and how well the radar works at treetop level, no chance I can get as reliable of a lock in the F-16AJ or Viggens.
Yea the 9L has like a 1.8 second prox arming time now. Even before the nerf you definitely couldn't do with it what the R-60 can. R-60 arms and pulls basically immediately after firing. I've been on the receiving and delivering end for Japan and the Soviets.
the drawback of the r-60m now is that they actually chase flares if they see flares unlike aim-9l that sometimes just go sike and go back to their target
I bought the mig 23 ML when it was released and also got one for my friend. We were both able to get top tier Russia with it and it was actually a pretty fun grind compared to most. We recently unlocked the gripen for Sweden as well, that tree was torture compared to using the 23 ML for Russia.
Got the ML originally to grid the russian air tech tree, got it done, each single time you die will teach you to eventually get that death as a kill. Now I use this thing as a SL farmer due to the R24R being wtf levels of radar guided missiles, and R60M doing their job relatively fine, even if they aren't some top dog missile like a R73.
I was just watching this while eating not expecting to learn anything, simply listening to you yap (that's a compliment), when you dropped the absolute knowledge bomb of the J band radar. I think I noticed it when they first implemented the RWR changes but I completely forgot about it.
Ah, that's what just happened then. The last opponent was a 23ML. Seemed competent, had 3 kills, but still didn't react after I fired at ~15km and ate a 530D
My only gripe is the RWR, since in Sim they realistically modelled that some American plane's radars don't set off your RWR at all, cannot tell you how many times I've been one shot by AIM-7Fs without any warning, literal horror game jumpscare
The one thing that makes the 23ML real good (in my eyes at least) is the R24T. Thing has good range and only 2 seconds where you get ANY warning that it is coming. After that, you need to get lucky with flaring it.
Been getting a ton of launch warnings on the viggens as I grind for the Grippp. Can’t wait for the BR changes if they happen before I get the gripp because getting F-14, F-15, J-11, MiG-23, Su-27 radar locks and launches on me gets VERY annoying even if I’m on the deck and rarely get hit down there.
It's top tier, I really dont care about kill stealing anymore. everybody does it and besides burning planes are still able to shoot lethal missiles at your teammtes.

Best thing about m23 is that you face f4s premiums that are flying tanks. Fly low for the first sparrow and it is literally a free kill with no all aspect missiles 😁 you outturn and vastly outspeed them!
also dont sleep on the 24T. so many times where even aware players dont flare and tries to notch instead as they thing its a radar missile coming. but you cant notch the IR.
See the funny thing is that to defeat a PD radar, you should notch while dumping some chaff, the radar would switch to SRC after the notch and get chaffed off. If you're using mixed countermeasures, you should be defeating all kinds of missiles

Honestly i hate the Mig-23. Used the MLD to grind rank 7 and 8 but what you describe here the drifting the wobbling all over the place when the wings are swept back killed any kind of gunplay with it for me. Missiles are great for sure but when it comes to gunplay i haven't been frustrated as much in any plane as i was with this thing. The low velocity of the 23mm Gsh don't help either.
The most success I have with this plane is when going right with 20m fuel and wings full forward after first merge. Shoot R24r at 2 first enemies in acm mti mode and the ratefight all the enemies while my team cleans whole enemy team :D
My dumbass who never touched a jet above 7.7 ever before, picked this up on sale. Since then, from about 4.7 battle rating, I now have the SU-27 in a few weeks, and my KD in 340ish matches is 254 deaths, 393 kills. A player who has no prior experience. Easy buy this thing is.

Worst 70 dollar prem jet? F4EJ ADTW. It's the radar and missiles. Lol mainly the radar. If the damn thing had a better one like the F4S,F4j,or I could head on with sparrows at low altitudes but nope. I constantly die to head on attacks because everything has either all aspects infrared missiles or better radar and can shoot SAHR at me while I can't. Lol It can be frustrating but she has gotten me to the F15j,just got to finish its grind. GG
Yeah easily on of the worst high tier premiums but it also helped me research the entire Japanese air tree. But I also found that I really enjoyed flying it for some reason compared to the F16AJ and the F15J.
It's literally a downgraded F4E at the same br. Sad that not only is it the only premium option for a high tier japanesse jet, but the techtree counterpart is the only rank 7 Japan gets, so you literally have to play it.
@@jojomaster7675nah, you don’t have to. I grinded the ej-Kai with the F1 after about 20 matches in the tech tree ej. Even without flares it was much more survivable
i got this thing during the new years sale, and even me, with basically 0 experience with top tier, with my highest BR plane being the mig-9, i have almost a 2.0 kd, thing is bonkers. I went from 7.3 with the mig-9 to the SU-27 in a week, over 320 games. I with out a doubt preferer the R-24Ts tho, i just like the reliability and not having to worry about getting a radar lock. If they dont flare, they die 90% of the time.
I've got to disagree, the r23T's get flared way to easy and everyone you are facing will just spam flares all day you end up wasting them, R24R way to go if you can radar lock quick enough
@@luket6522 if you go high 5000ish meter most maps, and just drop down on people it’s basically a free 2 kills, when I was grind the 27sm I was getting 2-4 kill games reliably this way. Since they nerfed all Mig-23 radar r-24r is very unreliable just cuz the radar will switch modes all the time
i have it & it was the best choice ive ever gotten, i like it beter than the F16 and the mig29smt.people dont know how to use the radar and how to keep speed at 1450 on ground. GSH is amazing gun. its an amazing radar if you know how to use it and have the keybinds. i have alot of matches in this thing and its insane. easy to avoid missiles, easy to kill.. Anything. AMAZING dogfighter. no need for the external tank bring the 12x large flares, R24Rs R60Ms full WEP until youve reached 25m of fuel then switch to half WEP with your scroll wheel for idealy the rest of the match. best jet ive ever touched. R24Rs are amazing, R60Ms are really good for easy killed only shoot at 1km or preferably below AND DO NOT ignore the IRST. One of the best IRST on any jet ive used, Once you use your radar missiles switch to IRST and use the beyond visual range to lock easily. (Make sure you use MTI always and beyond visual range frequently in close) Still amazing in uptier aswell. (If your good like meee.. HAVE WING KEYBINDS) one of the best jets in the game IMO
It's an awesome plane. I took a break back in 2020 after that stupid grind event and I just came back like 3 months ago and got this plane it is soo fast and I can get kill after kill. Although I dominated in the mig 17as This is wayyy better.
my guy this is probably the best in sim at 11.0. It beats everything, you just need to forget the dogfighting or else you're a sitting duck. but you will be the fastest with one of the best missiles and best radars, that will beat 9/10

the F-15 as it is right now, is fine at 12.3. all it really has going for it are the 9M's, it flies like a bus cause gaijin still couldn't get the flight model right even after "fixing" it. there's now also a theory we'll get the proper F-15C at 12.7. besides all of that, the F-16C is better in every way, 2 more IR missiles, better flight model, better at dogfighting despite not being a dogfighter, and it has HMD.

I didn’t really need saving, I can run away or beat him in a dogfight, it’s a superior plane to the F5. I set him up for a kill, that’s just how a team game goes.
Does the ML even have a BT? As far as I can tell there isn't a HUD indicator for it in game. I tried looking at an actual cockpit but the plane I got my hands on didn't have a HUD installed.
Yeah it's annoying AF. Haven't played a single 10.3 match lately without 3-4 in it... Their missiles used to get defeated with a single chaff, now they don't care about chaff... You up high? You dead... These things ruined the entire 10.3 matchmaker, they should go to 11.7 and stay there...
10.3 is completely fine. Still gets plenty of downtiers and 11.3 matches are still playable if you're in a proper fighter. 11.3 is much worse. In reality, the MiG-23ML(A) gets absolutely demolished by IRCCM spamming 12.3s. Also, R24s aren't that op. They're countered the same way as AIM7E-2/F/Ms, possibly even easier due to the Mig-23s relatively mid radar. American PDs are harder to counter than it's MTI. Simply learn how to notch or don't climb.

@@dukeofdream Last time i played was a week ago when I took out the Mig-21MF. Absolutely amazing, out of 20 matches about half were downtiers to 9.3/9.7. And even in uptiers i managed fine. 11.3s aren't such a huge threat. Radar missiles are just as easy to avoid in a 10.3 as in a 12.3 and nothing gets IRCCM, apart from the su-25BM/T, which is not a threat as it's an su-25. And that was with the Mig-21MF, a plane that uptiers rather badly, due to it's missiles having the worst flare resistance in the game, it's gun having low ammo and being rather awkward to aim and it not having any edge over higher br aircraft, with many outperforming it in both speed, energy and turn performance. The F5C is quite possibly the best performing plane in an uptier in the entire 10.3 bracket. It doesn't relly on it's missiles or speed and it's turn performance is better than many 11.3s. If you're struggling with it, then that's a skill issue. If you're trying to bomb in it, then that's an even bigger skill issue. Try playing any 11.3 right now.

I started grinding the event mirage with the F-5C cause of how fast the matches are ( and also zero queue times) in 10.3 compared to early jets that i am now in France, Russia and Israel... Up until the 5th mark of distinction i was getting consistently 1-4 kills and maybe die early in an unlucky match every now and then... I struggled like zero... By that time i had almost 3:1 K/D ratio in it... Then i decided to play the F-8E and spade it... First day during the 5th mark of distinction i'm having a blast and i get similar K/D with the vehicle half spaded... I go to sleep and start the 6th mark the next day... From that day onwards i'm just dying in anything 10.3-12.0. I thought it was the plane so i went back to the F-5C. I'm not a lvl 5 that bought an F-4S with moms wallet... i've been playing since 2014 and especially in the F-5C i have like 500 kills... I used to face mig-21s in every battle, no i'm facing mig-23s in every battle, i rarely see Mig-21BiSs anymore... Getting the Event mirage, the F-14A and the F-16a lately i'm just dying in all of them and the F-5C too... I don't know what changed, it certainly isn't a skill issue cause i was doing fine before... 3:1 K/D ratio in hundreds of matches can't be just luck (i'm questioning myself now reading comments like yours).. I don't know what's going on but i'm really having a hard time lately in WT and i have rage-quit alt+f4 manytimes... Only reason i still play is that i feel sorry for the money i paid for the yearly premium subscription.... I kid you not, today i took a xanax cause of how mad i was with it, and i'm a very peaceful character... F-16A, 30 matches last night, 15 matches today... 4 kills and 40 deaths? This is unplayable ridiculous bullshit... 5 of those deaths were me crashing to a tree while trying to evade radar missiles, this is insane. I don't how you guys find top tier fun. For me it's pure hell, missiles coming from every direction, i don't know where to look, massive furballs, moment i manage to find a good shot someone either shoots it from 5km or i get killed by someone i didn't see cause i was so focused dodging head-on radar missiles.

Mig-15 bis ISH is also top tier. This thing just prints money and XP and is outright OP. Grinded up to Su-27 in a week.

MiG-23ML owner here, used it to finish the grind that the Su-25K couldn't. Ended up working pretty well. Second best MiG-23 behind the MLD. I'm pretty alert with my situational awareness, but im not gonna lie, I've caught a lot of R-24R's and T's as I've been grinding the Chinese lines, its the only thing I go hard after if I see it.
Is the mig better or su25k for tech tree grind ?
@arkaasa at the time, basebombing at 10.0 was really easy. At this point, unless you think you're absolutely useless at air-to-air combat, I'd go with the MiG-23.
Got my first 8k game with this thing, used Ts at the start then Rs when the enemy team dwindled, it's surprisingly balanced and fun to fly and fight against.. Unlike some.
This pushed me to pick it up. Despite it's changes since this video released, I'm starting to love this thing. Picked up a 5 kill air RB, raking in 95k SL and 35k research. Absolute goat with the JBAND RF, can really play the plane to it's strengths when a lot of targets are completely unaware until it's too late lol.
I'm actually surprised how well the radar does at low altitude, I've been slammed by R24s at near tree top level and they just stick on me rather than dropping to the dirt
MTI is actually pretty good it's better to make it face the ground by putting your nose to that direction instead of just flying at tree top
He's using a combination of radar and IR tracking system along the video so it's not just radar alone also there're different R24s. There's R24R which is radar guided and still hits the ground if you're close to it and R24T which is IR guided so you can fly low all you want but it won't save you but flares can help with that one.

@@nikelon8227 I meant R24R's as I was talking about radar performance, and I meant in general with my experience fighting MiG-23ML's. Yeah Seek is using a combo and it works well, but just straight radar and R24R I've been killed a handful of times at treetop when it should lost to ground clutter.
where have you been in my 2k hours of War Thunder? i had no idea that some aircraft couldn't detect your radar if it was in a certain band until the algorithm showed me in this vid. I love using IRST with the R24Ts i just wish the IRST fov was larger. It can struggle against maneuvering targets.
Not sure if it still functions this way in WT specifically, but the SPO-10 RWR on this aircraft is technically 8 directional, a lock to the 12,3,6 or 9 o'clock should be illuminating the two corresponding sectors, e.g a 12 o'clock lock shoud be illumiating both front sectors of the RWR, from the 3 it should illuminate both right sectors etc. i recall it working this way before the RWR rework recently but i wouldn't be surprised if it was screwed up in one of the recent updates. Regardless, it's still subpar for maintaining situational awareness and should only be used to roughly locate potential threats, while the good old mk1 eyeball is better for launch detection.

I got the Su-27 yesterday which took about a month from rank 1 using the 23ML. If you can play top tier, it’s a breeze
Great vid as usual. One thing I didn't hear mentioned is that the missiles are just so much better than NATO counterparts at equal BR. Having ground the Swedish and Japanese tech trees, the number of times I've died to head-on R60s at point blank where I wouldn't have been able get an equal shot off with AIM-9Ls/RB-74s is the most frustrating part of fighting against MiGs. That and how well the radar works at treetop level, no chance I can get as reliable of a lock in the F-16AJ or Viggens.
Yea the 9L has like a 1.8 second prox arming time now. Even before the nerf you definitely couldn't do with it what the R-60 can. R-60 arms and pulls basically immediately after firing. I've been on the receiving and delivering end for Japan and the Soviets.
the drawback of the r-60m now is that they actually chase flares if they see flares unlike aim-9l that sometimes just go sike and go back to their target

I bought the mig 23 ML when it was released and also got one for my friend. We were both able to get top tier Russia with it and it was actually a pretty fun grind compared to most.
We recently unlocked the gripen for Sweden as well, that tree was torture compared to using the 23 ML for Russia.
Got the ML originally to grid the russian air tech tree, got it done, each single time you die will teach you to eventually get that death as a kill. Now I use this thing as a SL farmer due to the R24R being wtf levels of radar guided missiles, and R60M doing their job relatively fine, even if they aren't some top dog missile like a R73.
Man those R-24's are insane, i was on the dirt throwing chaff and the missile just ignores all of it and nails me
yeah that's the MTI radar mode in a nutshell, MTI doesn't care about chaff

My only gripe is the RWR, since in Sim they realistically modelled that some American plane's radars don't set off your RWR at all, cannot tell you how many times I've been one shot by AIM-7Fs without any warning, literal horror game jumpscare

The one thing that makes the 23ML real good (in my eyes at least) is the R24T. Thing has good range and only 2 seconds where you get ANY warning that it is coming. After that, you need to get lucky with flaring it.
I was considering purchasing it but now that that you posted this video It's a done deal.
Been getting a ton of launch warnings on the viggens as I grind for the Grippp. Can’t wait for the BR changes if they happen before I get the gripp because getting F-14, F-15, J-11, MiG-23, Su-27 radar locks and launches on me gets VERY annoying even if I’m on the deck and rarely get hit down there.

Best thing about m23 is that you face f4s premiums that are flying tanks. Fly low for the first sparrow and it is literally a free kill with no all aspect missiles 😁 you outturn and vastly outspeed them!
With the wings swept back it’s basically a delta
I think the reason the f15 isn't going up is because you're getting a mix between a phantom and an f16. It's not as good as other jets
also dont sleep on the 24T. so many times where even aware players dont flare and tries to notch instead as they thing its a radar missile coming. but you cant notch the IR.
See the funny thing is that to defeat a PD radar, you should notch while dumping some chaff, the radar would switch to SRC after the notch and get chaffed off. If you're using mixed countermeasures, you should be defeating all kinds of missiles
Now I understand why I randomly die to an R24R with no launch or rwr in the Su27.

Honestly i hate the Mig-23. Used the MLD to grind rank 7 and 8 but what you describe here the drifting the wobbling all over the place when the wings are swept back killed any kind of gunplay with it for me. Missiles are great for sure but when it comes to gunplay i haven't been frustrated as much in any plane as i was with this thing. The low velocity of the 23mm Gsh don't help either.
The most success I have with this plane is when going right with 20m fuel and wings full forward after first merge. Shoot R24r at 2 first enemies in acm mti mode and the ratefight all the enemies while my team cleans whole enemy team :D

My dumbass who never touched a jet above 7.7 ever before, picked this up on sale. Since then, from about 4.7 battle rating, I now have the SU-27 in a few weeks, and my KD in 340ish matches is 254 deaths, 393 kills. A player who has no prior experience. Easy buy this thing is.

Worst 70 dollar prem jet? F4EJ ADTW. It's the radar and missiles. Lol mainly the radar. If the damn thing had a better one like the F4S,F4j,or I could head on with sparrows at low altitudes but nope. I constantly die to head on attacks because everything has either all aspects infrared missiles or better radar and can shoot SAHR at me while I can't. Lol

Yeah easily on of the worst high tier premiums but it also helped me research the entire Japanese air tree. But I also found that I really enjoyed flying it for some reason compared to the F16AJ and the F15J.
It's literally a downgraded F4E at the same br. Sad that not only is it the only premium option for a high tier japanesse jet, but the techtree counterpart is the only rank 7 Japan gets, so you literally have to play it.

i got this thing during the new years sale, and even me, with basically 0 experience with top tier, with my highest BR plane being the mig-9, i have almost a 2.0 kd, thing is bonkers. I went from 7.3 with the mig-9 to the SU-27 in a week, over 320 games. I with out a doubt preferer the R-24Ts tho, i just like the reliability and not having to worry about getting a radar lock. If they dont flare, they die 90% of the time.
I've got to disagree, the r23T's get flared way to easy and everyone you are facing will just spam flares all day you end up wasting them, R24R way to go if you can radar lock quick enough
@@luket6522 if you go high 5000ish meter most maps, and just drop down on people it’s basically a free 2 kills, when I was grind the 27sm I was getting 2-4 kill games reliably this way. Since they nerfed all Mig-23 radar r-24r is very unreliable just cuz the radar will switch modes all the time
i have it & it was the best choice ive ever gotten, i like it beter than the F16 and the mig29smt.people dont know how to use the radar and how to keep speed at 1450 on ground. GSH is amazing gun.
its an amazing radar if you know how to use it and have the keybinds. i have alot of matches in this thing and its insane. easy to avoid missiles, easy to kill.. Anything. AMAZING dogfighter. no need for the external tank bring the 12x large flares, R24Rs R60Ms full WEP until youve reached 25m of fuel then switch to half WEP with your scroll wheel for idealy the rest of the match. best jet ive ever touched. R24Rs are amazing, R60Ms are really good for easy killed only shoot at 1km or preferably below AND DO NOT ignore the IRST. One of the best IRST on any jet ive used, Once you use your radar missiles switch to IRST and use the beyond visual range to lock easily. (Make sure you use MTI always and beyond visual range frequently in close) Still amazing in uptier aswell. (If your good like meee.. HAVE WING KEYBINDS)

I don't get the r24T. Everybody is literally always flaring. Some people have so many they can literally auto flare for the whole match
I hate this thing when trying to play sim, without any warning I just get sniped and when I do notice its too late to pop chaff/flares
my guy this is probably the best in sim at 11.0. It beats everything, you just need to forget the dogfighting or else you're a sitting duck. but you will be the fastest with one of the best missiles and best radars, that will beat 9/10
thats why I love the flogger in sim :) its so funny to sneak around with irst and only turning on the radar to check if its a friend or not

the F-15 as it is right now, is fine at 12.3. all it really has going for it are the 9M's, it flies like a bus cause gaijin still couldn't get the flight model right even after "fixing" it. there's now also a theory we'll get the proper F-15C at 12.7. besides all of that, the F-16C is better in every way, 2 more IR missiles, better flight model, better at dogfighting despite not being a dogfighter, and it has HMD.

I didn’t really need saving, I can run away or beat him in a dogfight, it’s a superior plane to the F5. I set him up for a kill, that’s just how a team game goes.

Yeah it's annoying AF. Haven't played a single 10.3 match lately without 3-4 in it... Their missiles used to get defeated with a single chaff, now they don't care about chaff... You up high? You dead... These things ruined the entire 10.3 matchmaker, they should go to 11.7 and stay there...

10.3 is completely fine. Still gets plenty of downtiers and 11.3 matches are still playable if you're in a proper fighter. 11.3 is much worse. In reality, the MiG-23ML(A) gets absolutely demolished by IRCCM spamming 12.3s.
Also, R24s aren't that op. They're countered the same way as AIM7E-2/F/Ms, possibly even easier due to the Mig-23s relatively mid radar. American PDs are harder to counter than it's MTI. Simply learn how to notch or don't climb.

@@dukeofdream Last time i played was a week ago when I took out the Mig-21MF. Absolutely amazing, out of 20 matches about half were downtiers to 9.3/9.7. And even in uptiers i managed fine. 11.3s aren't such a huge threat. Radar missiles are just as easy to avoid in a 10.3 as in a 12.3 and nothing gets IRCCM, apart from the su-25BM/T, which is not a threat as it's an su-25.
And that was with the Mig-21MF, a plane that uptiers rather badly, due to it's missiles having the worst flare resistance in the game, it's gun having low ammo and being rather awkward to aim and it not having any edge over higher br aircraft, with many outperforming it in both speed, energy and turn performance.
The F5C is quite possibly the best performing plane in an uptier in the entire 10.3 bracket. It doesn't relly on it's missiles or speed and it's turn performance is better than many 11.3s. If you're struggling with it, then that's a skill issue. If you're trying to bomb in it, then that's an even bigger skill issue.
Try playing any 11.3 right now.

I started grinding the event mirage with the F-5C cause of how fast the matches are ( and also zero queue times) in 10.3 compared to early jets that i am now in France, Russia and Israel... Up until the 5th mark of distinction i was getting consistently 1-4 kills and maybe die early in an unlucky match every now and then... I struggled like zero... By that time i had almost 3:1 K/D ratio in it... Then i decided to play the F-8E and spade it... First day during the 5th mark of distinction i'm having a blast and i get similar K/D with the vehicle half spaded... I go to sleep and start the 6th mark the next day... From that day onwards i'm just dying in anything 10.3-12.0. I thought it was the plane so i went back to the F-5C. I'm not a lvl 5 that bought an F-4S with moms wallet... i've been playing since 2014 and especially in the F-5C i have like 500 kills... I used to face mig-21s in every battle, no i'm facing mig-23s in every battle, i rarely see Mig-21BiSs anymore... Getting the Event mirage, the F-14A and the F-16a lately i'm just dying in all of them and the F-5C too... I don't know what changed, it certainly isn't a skill issue cause i was doing fine before... 3:1 K/D ratio in hundreds of matches can't be just luck (i'm questioning myself now reading comments like yours).. I don't know what's going on but i'm really having a hard time lately in WT and i have rage-quit alt+f4 manytimes... Only reason i still play is that i feel sorry for the money i paid for the yearly premium subscription.... I kid you not, today i took a xanax cause of how mad i was with it, and i'm a very peaceful character... F-16A, 30 matches last night, 15 matches today... 4 kills and 40 deaths? This is unplayable ridiculous bullshit... 5 of those deaths were me crashing to a tree while trying to evade radar missiles, this is insane. I don't how you guys find top tier fun. For me it's pure hell, missiles coming from every direction, i don't know where to look, massive furballs, moment i manage to find a good shot someone either shoots it from 5km or i get killed by someone i didn't see cause i was so focused dodging head-on radar missiles.
