Easy LG top load washer lid removal

I couldn’t find any videos on how to remove this lid, which was much easier than I expected. Only a few tools are necessary and it only takes a couple minutes. If you need to replace or just clean under the lid, this video should help

Had a repairman at my house this morning to install a new lid he didn’t have a clue how to remove the lid. I showed him your video and between the two of us we got the old one off and the new one on. Thanks for a great video.

I'm a first time homeowner and am working at getting more handy. Yesterday I accidentally dropped a drill bit on the top of the washer (rookie move, won't make that mistake again) and the whole life cracked (but thankfully didn't shatter).
I'm getting a replacement lid sent over from an LG parts supplier but wanted to see if I could get the lid off myself. This video was extremely helpful. It took me a little bit longer than shown here but I got the lid off. Thanks a bunch!

Does this washer have the soft/gentle close function? Our LG WT5680HVA has a glass lid that is now slamming down. The soft close feature appears to have failed and I am trying, without success to find a part number to replace the hinge/dampener.

while you have that lid off. do you think it would be reasonable to get a dremel or something and cut out the bottom part of the latch point that gets held by the lid lock tab? leaving the bump-stop point intact, of course... ive seen a lot of kludgey magnet and tape hacks. but that's not something i want to leave in place all the time.

I don’t have this lid anymore to show it, but I don’t think it’s easy. I’m fairly certain it’s better to buy the whole lid because the clips break pretty easy on the plastic shrouding the glass
