Congratulations on your 600th video !!! I have watched all of them at least one, and many twice or more. Looking forward to hundreds more !!! Thanks Mark !!!!!
Hi Mark. The sharpening of the carbide teeth was very educational. I recommend that you watch this in conjunction with the Andruw's Lumber video of 19Aug24 "Taking the Saw to the Doctor… we still have our fingers" -- 28:51. They call Brett the Saw Doctor for a reason, and this video shows you why. It is truly a masterclass in an almost forgotten craft...
Great job sharpening all those teeth periodically!! Labor of love is all I can guess! Love watching you-all make lumber! Wish I was closer to you I would love to buy some 4x4 dunnage!
👍👌👏 2) That's some nice wood. 3) Thanks for not having loud music while using the edger saw. Best regards, luck and especially health to all involved people.
That Pete really goes to town with the. He isn't too shabby with the chainsaw either. He's a very good woodsman. You sir are a very good Sawyer. Again Grandpa just enjoys all facets of your operation. Thanks for shooting these videos. I learn a lot of what my ancestors did back in the day.
Great video Mark :) Real good to see Pete "Bunyan" lol doing well, looking good too. To buy a blade and set of teeth would be quite a bit of sawn and sold lumber to take care of that expense. I would imagine by looking at your metal detector it is not a cheap one, BUT has paid for itself many many times over :) Thanks for bringing us along all the way from SE Texas :) ❤💯🙏
I’m a retired computer security guy, but really enjoy your videos. Now that I’m retired I stay as far away from computers as possible . I had a little Stihl chain saw to cut logs for our wood burning fireplace and even bought a log splitter. I’m a city guy who would have loved growing up in the country. You have a great channel - nice work!
Mr. Mark. I am not much of a computer person...And i just started watching you tube!! The algorithm put me on to girls in see through pagamas. I was getting ready to turn it off for good...and then you popped up. I have worked in a hvac. plant for the last 16+ years... but before that my life was wood. I was actually born on a sawdust pile. Saw a couple af your videos and i am hooked.
If you'll search for topics you're interested in, watch some videos, and leaves comments & "likes" the algorithm will suggest more stuff like it. Now about those see-through pajamas...😊
Hey guys, hello from Mississippi. I really enjoy watching your videos... as you probably know Mississippi has a huge lumber industry but before seeing your videos all I knew of wood was when I used some. Thanks for the look behind a sawmill. And special thanks for showing us how you sharpen the blade. Keep em coming...
Hey Mark, Larry here. I don’t know how many white dressing sticks I have wore out thru the years on diamond wheels. I’m a retired Tool & Die maker of 42 years. Love the diamond wheels.
Hi Mike & Eddies & ZZ Mark & Hi Pete & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Mark & Eddies & ZZ Mark & Pete & Friends Randy Boom Boom Boom Boom
Half past five in the morning just made my English breakfast watching you guys while eating it , todays job sort some railings out in the cemetery that some brainless little shits have damaged , think I might have to go back at night and make them change there underwear, anyway you guys have a nice day
@@markgalicic7788 Sweet! In nine more months my full time job will be finishing the refit of my sailboat for live aboard cruising. I'm heading for the Caribbean and/or the San Blas islands off the coast of Panama for the 2025/2026 winter season.
I saw three loader arms on that first log. And then there were only two for the next one! I did see Brett tune up Andruw's blade on his channel. As for the outtakes - you HAVE to have fun when you can. Bill
Hi Mark. I have been watching your videos for a couple of years now and you are doing a great job. I appreciate your approach and your good explanations. I did have a couple of questions that your viewers might want to hear an answer for. What is the advantage in the first turn of the log going back to the knees instead of down on the head block? It seems like the head block would be easier. Also what advantage do you gain by using the taper? You often say that "What you gain on one side, you lose on the other side." So why do it? Thanks and keep up the good work!
Mark to ZZ: "You been out running in the woods" ZZ: "Not sure about that.".....Pete Bunion is out there now, not going to crowd him. I'm more strictly into Ridge Running, Stump Jumping, & Clod Hopping, over the hills and Chip-less Dale's (Chip and Dale joke)
@@robertgreen8695 Are you telling us that the judge finally made ZZ join the Amy transporting caissons full of ammunition instead of always running around like Forest Gump?
With a 16' log on the carriage, does your number 3 head block taper give enough lateral movement to make much of a difference to the position of the log? Congrats on video number 600.
Hey Mark, It looks like I'll have your parts too you Saturday of Labor Day weekend. If all goes according to plan, I'll be working Saturday, Sunday & part of Monday in your area. Maybe dinner one night? I let Eddie know already...
Can you tell a big difference between the carbide bites vs standard......we been debating on trying some just didn't know if it was worth the extra cost
they saw about the same as steel bits and you can saw 5 to 7k BF before sharpening , also they will saw for hundreds of thousand feet of lumber before wore out . the down side is cost and they don't like dirt , rocks , nails.
Another suggestion...Cut the top angle off your channel on offbearing belt. Put a 6" flipper bar on replacement.. the wrdge will either flip out or go down conveyer.
I have a band mill and sharpen my own blades. My son found out that I wanted a metal detector and he had one. I cut down what I saw so I don’t need it unless it is in a fence row.
A cab horn will wake your help up when needed....andon a few occasions can save people's lives.. mabe only a couple of times did i see the horn save lives..but i think its worth it.
Thank you Mark. This was the best video of the year maybe of two years. Thanks again God bless.🇨🇦✌️
thanks Doug.
Dang Mark! I didn’t realize what a beast that blade is until now seeing it up close like that. Super cool! Thanks for sharing.

A sharp blade makes all the difference in the world!
it sure does.
That sure is a nice setup you got there

Very nice.. sharping. No left and right just straight across
if you don't sharpen it straight across the saw will pull to one side.
No problem with a longer video!
glad you liked it.
"Saw the pith out of it." 😆
Watching Temple hill gives a better appreciation for saw mill safety and sawing.
Shannon is a great guy he had a few close calls but he is still learning and so am I.
Hey Phil, Happy 66th Birthday on Aug 17 !! Why thank you very much.
Other than "Alright", you have a new saying now, "Let's start there".
I remember when I was a little kid....my dad was sawing logs that came from a firing range. Nothing like those un exploded bullets in th soft wood!!!!
Dispositivo muito bom,prático 👍🇧🇷
thank you.
Looking that the saw blade cutting tooth and a chain saw tooth. On a chain saw chain the cutters alternate left to right. Does your blade do the same?
Bandsaws use water. It cools the band and cuts down on the dust. Bandsaws make fine (small) dust
Nice wood .Mark , If want good wood , call Pete . He don't have garbage wood .

Sweet!

@@markgalicic7788 Who else would it be?!
Mark , Try a pointer that metal Deceleratorist use even a magnet on a string to locate a small objects , area loss in timber is much less.
great idea.
Do you check all logs for metal or just yard trees
I check every log that we saw.
