I love a Tempeh Reuben! I usually pan fry the tempeh & the sauerkraut, as well. Very nice work, Kathy & Paul! I'm definitely going to try your marinade next time. 👍 😊
Wow, that seems like the simplest tempeh cold cut ever! I would use syrup other than maple for the sauce and would make homemade cabbage / sauerkraut and rice flour buns, but I am thinking I will make the tempeh exactly like this. I will definitely look forward to more recipes, Kathy! 😃😁🙂
@KathysVeganKitchen I just heat up 2/3 cup of water in the microwave for about 30 seconds in a bowl, then pour in 1 cup of rice flour and knead it with a fork until it cools and the dough is formed. Then, I take it out of the bowl and knead it into a giant ball. I then sprinkle cinnamon all over and knead that into it and repeat that a few times. After that, I divide the dough into 4 pieces. I make a flat disc out of each and fry them in grapeseed oil. I add caraway and dill or seeds like fennel to the oil if I want a rye bread flavor. After cooking on both sides for a few minutes, they are ready, so I use two pieces per sandwich like a bun. Obviously, you can use whatever oil you want or could try no oil if you want.
Hi Kathy! I noticed your appliance handle covers and found them on Amazon. I have a similar color/style kitchen. I bought the 6-pack and now have nicely covered appliance handles! Thanks for displaying them (without even knowing it)!! Fantastic recipe today! Thank you!
That is awesome! We have similar ones for our front door of our home for when the temperatures get up to 120, so no one burns their hands on the door :)
Another awesome video and recipe but this video only has had 350 views which aren't enough after all the effort Kathy put into the video and the recipe. Love 🥰 the video and love 💓Kathy & her ❤ taste tester Paul.
How could I thicken up what can I put into thicken up the Reuben sauce I would like mine a little bit thicker especially now you're adding pickles which has a little bit more juice to it thanks

Oh boy, have tempeh, sauerkraut & beets Plus the makings of the sauce!
Don't know if I can wait till the tempeh is marinated!
Hunger is the best sauce
So true, but let it marinate a couple of hours at least :)

It thickens in the refrigerator. I lay the pickles on paper towels to reduce any extra liquid when I cut them. Does that help?
