DBZ kai is a re-edit that is way way closer to the Original Manga. When they made the original DBZ anime for the manga they ruined the pacing of the story completely. The Creator and writer of Dragonball had almost no say in the anime. Alot of people don't know this because they grew up with the anime instead of the manga. I grew up with the Manga first even as a kid when i then saw the anime on TV i wanted to puke because they ruined the pacing and flow of my favourite story, They also added a bunch of unnecessary and even story sabotaging material to the original story. DBZKAI was created to fix all these issues. It's not perfect but it's a much more superb version and the majority the people who read the original Manga, how it was intended by Akira Toriyama (R.I.P.) agree on this after putting their ego aside.
