One of the safest vehicles on the road. Why did you use the engine to charge the battery? That's why the consumption was high-ish. Nonetheless, the engine is a 2.0 super & turbo charged (235kW) plus an electric motor on the rear axle (80kW). This is well priced against an X5 45e (another hybrid).

I really want to consider buying this car, but I am really not a fan of having everything on the touchscreen infotainment. It gets really frustrating to use when driving. Maybe I'm old-school, but I prefer solid buttons with respect to climate controls and the like. One of the things about buttons is that when you have been driving the car long enough, you don't even need to look where you need to reach your hand to push a button. You just have that confidence knowing that you'll just do what you set out to while driving, even when driving on not-so-good roads. It's one of the things I enjoy about old cars, like my Mitsubishi Colt Rodeo, for example. I know where everything is at this point and I rarely ever need to take my eyes off the road to look at a screen for a few moments while driving.

Some advice: Buy it second hand. In South Africa, Volvo does not hold its value well. This car in the second hand market with under 100K km can cost you less than a million. But, they are still very expensive on the maintenance side.

It may be dated but it'll still be working after 10 years, compared to the Chinese brands' screens.
Volvo is a Toyota type of manufacturer. They always prioritise vehicles that will stand the test of time over modern tech in cars. That's why these two brands are still behind on tech but in terms of reliability & durability. They always top the list.
Doctor Sambo would have a better chance if it had an "S" on its badge and cost 10% of that value... Muzi won't budge on this one. 😅
