Trust me Felix with the deep voice is the most attractive in the entire industry.. I wouldn't have been interested in K-pop if it weren't for Felix and his deep and sexy voice 😩🔥

I'm an older millenial and I love Stray Kids. Going to both their Australian concerts in a few weeks :D I feel like I am betraying my generation saying this but I much prefer your sister's taste in music :P

Ryan Reynolds loves Stray Kids and is a super fan. Hugh has also become a fan of theirs. They are in the Deadpool soundtrack, song is called SLASH...Kpop is getting huge. Personally, I hated Kpop with a passion, until my daughter made me sit down and listen to Stray Kids God's Menu and now I am a huge fan. I wish people would be open minded about listening to several songs and giving them a good shot. I was missing out, now I know.... They have over 180 songs they have produced and done 40+ genres. These are very talented guys compared to most people and groups out there that don't even write and produce their own stuff. Bang Chan has been producing and writing with Han and Changbin since they were teens.
If you understood Bang Chan's back story on how he left home at a very young age to pursue music...maybe you wouldn't see them as whiny. He was a trainee for 7 years watching his friends debut without him and being left behind. He got to a point of becoming suicidal. I think this was because he left home at such a young age and it was hard to handle everything. He got to a point he decided he was going to learn the industry while he waited to debut. So he learned everything he could, he learned to write, to produce and more. Because of all this he was given the opportunity to put his own group together, which is something that had never been done in the kpop world before. The record groups normally do that. So they took a chance with him. Then they made him and his group go through a survival show to see who would debut, which was rough. They ended up debuting, but once they debuted, much of Korea rejected them. They called their music noise music and they were put down a lot. It wasn't until they broke into the western market with God's Menu that they started being respected and topping music charts. I remember watching one of their performances at an award show where they could see who was voting for them and they were looking at the board and Han said we don't have votes, no one likes us. Only to come back a few years later to that same show and basically sweep it all. They struggled a lot in the beginning. But eventually the west really embraced them and they took off. Bang Chan is open about talking about how he feels the members saved him when he was at such a low point with his suicidal thoughts. He left home at 13, after winning an audition, to start his training. He felt lost and like he was a Stray Kid, as he missed his family. This was originally how they got their name, not the lore. It is about feeling like a lost child chasing after their dreams and turned into being different and Kids brought together who were out of the ordinary. Which is how they see their fandom, those who are stray, lost, different all brought together by music.
Anyway, lots more I could say, but just thought I would throw that in. They are not whiny kids. They worked hard to get to where they are and have succeeded this year in being the first band ever to have 5 albums hit #1 on the billboards top charts. Not even the first korean band, the first band period. There is a reason people love them. Even if you don't, thanks for giving them a watch. ❤

Your sister didn't quite get it right about the LORE. I believe it is based on reality.
In the K-POP world groups are traditionally put together by companies. They are given the music they are to perform, they are told what to do.
SKZ was breaking out of that institutionalism. They started as a group chosen by the leader. They write their own songs, all 8 of them have credits. They produce, arrange, compose their songs themselves. 3 members are their main producers. They also have input into their own choreo.
They definitely broke the mould. The rest of the LORE is about finding their own path. There are 2 realities, SIDE EFFECTS shows well. 1 reality is following the norm and being looked after by the company....cruizy. They are the ones on the bus. The other reality is the journey SKZ chose to find their own path in their own time, their own way. A sign of true independence from the normal within their world.
They got their name because they are from everywhere. As a group they are trying to find their path in life, hence why they are Stray. The Kids.... because they were 16 to 20 when starting on this journey together.
Hellevator is actually the story of their beginning. The Hellevator is the elevator taking them from Hell to the Penthouse or Heaven. When they reach the top they see their next destination, The World outside their home. They then go on their journey to reach that destination, which they finally did in 5 star trailer. So, WORLD DOMINATION begins.
Oh and BTW, there is nothing ORDINARY about these boys, they are indeed ODDINARY. Remove your blinkers and look at the bigger picture around you. You come to conclusions that are very confusing, there is no logic behind what you are saying.

Clearly, your head bobbing is you being tortured against your will... seriously though...
You obviously aren't open-minded enough and seem to have such a negative view outside of what you *think* is good music, please consider cultural and sociatial differences before you knock it. Remember, when a group starts out, there is no brand representation, especially in other countries.
Maybe you arent ready for K-pop yet. It takes a well rounded, open minded, beautiful soul to be ready for k-pop because it is a deeper kind of music with deeper kind of lyrics.
Stray Kids came about because they came together through a survivor reality show where Chan picked the members but in order to debut together they had to prove themselves. I highly recommend watching the survivor series to see what they went through to get where they are now, and get a back story on them... once you learn about them, I promise, it will surprise you. Just know, they do it all themselves. Production, lyrics, music... everything!
Hellevator was there pre-debut song. District 9 was their debut song. It's all good...
Your sister was close to accurate about Ryan Reynolds and Bang Chan's friendship. The friendship started when Skz did a competition (Kingdom) where they performed a Deadpool theme performance in 2021.
Six are Korean nationality and two are Australian.
'Bullets' ricocheting off of metal objects do go "tang tang tang" or whatever other sound you want to use... ping perhaps. 'Guns' go pow pow, pew pew, or pop pop. So yeah, Stray Kids was right in their lyrics. Sorry... I think you might have gotten confused with the semantics of the machinery there.

Also she's right. Millennials love Stray Kids. I've been listening to kpop since Baby V.O.X. in the late 90s. My grandmother [born 1939] also loves Stray Kids. She knows all the English parts to her favorite songs and her bias is Lee Know.

This Baby Boomer Stay loves Stray Kids. Not everyone has the same musical taste and that is part of the greatness about music. You should know that there are several metal heads that love them. I recommend listening to a few more songs. Stay Kids actually has a wide range of styles in their songs it’s worth the extra time.

I'm an older millenial and I absolutely love Stray Kids. Heck I know some 80 year olds who love them 😂
I'll post some info so you get a better idea of how huge they are.
    They debuted in 2018
    They are ages 23 - 26
    Fandom name is Stay
    #2 Best Selling Artist in U.S 2023
    #3 Globally Best Selling 2023
They are unique for several reasons...
First, the leader Bang Chan was allowed by JYP to hand pick all of the members himself. They were not placed together in a traditional way, by the company.
Second all of them are all arounders. They can all sing, rap, dance, produce and write.
Third, they have written and produced about 99% of their music.
Numbers of songs each member has copyrighted according to Korean Music Association (KOMCA) so far...
    Bang Chan 193
    Changbin 163
    Han 161
    Hyunjin 27
    Felix 23
    I.N 21
    Seungmin 20
    Lee Know 17
While they can all do everything they do have 3 different subunits...
3Racha... Bang Chan, Chang Bin and Han which are the main producers and lyricists. They are always credited as 3Racha.
    3Racha Achievements
    - Producers of Consecutive Five Time Billboard 200 #1 album debuts - only group in history
    - Hot 100 Hitmakers
    - 3rd, 11th, 12th Most Credited Idols on KOMCA
    - Produced Albums Sold Over 20 Million Copies
    - Japan Hot 100 Hitmakers
    - 100+ Weeks on Hot 100 Lyricists
    - 100+ Weeks On Hot 100 Composers
    - 2023 Asia Artist Awards Best Creator
    - Makers of Time Magazines 2020 #8 Best Song (their song Backdoor)
Danceracha... Lee Know (in charge of leading dance practices), Felix and Hyunjin. They also contribute to the choreography.
    Vocalracha... Seungmin and I.N
While the songs are hype they always have significant meaning to them. Their lyricism is always insane.
Since they are so experimental their sound has its own genre and they have a very diverse discography.
Example... Gods Menu, Back Door and Case 143 all completely different sounds.
