2400 km on my 2017 now, only ever done oil changes once a year and grease. Never let me down. I have a red one, my wife a green one. Awesome bike. I just but 26” Maxx forerunner DL tires with TSY aluminum rims. Probably the best upgrade ever.
We feedlot cattle and have had the can am 450 for a couple of years now it gets a fair floggin in mud and chasing cattle etc my only drama is the gear shift is a bit tight other than that all good 👌
Excellent review. I'm undecided between this and the sportsman from polaris but I was told by several dealers that they are ending the sales on the polaris 450 due to a lot of issues and complaints. So I'm leaning towards can am but I wish they have more compartments like the sportsman does.
mega0876 trust me go with the canam, it’s built better, I own one, went through your same problem, they use more metal rather then plastic you get more hp and a bigger glass and better towing
I stayed away from Can am because it looked hard to maintain but from the looks of it the 450 looks much easier to work on than the bigger twin models. I just want something to work and to take hunting. Do you still gotta take off the plastics to do a oil change on the 450?
Cynical Texas Dad yes at least with the base model. That’s what I have. I’m sure if you get the more expensive model it would come with the power steering
wraleen to be honest I kinda wish I just bought something used. It’s easier to fix something up rather than to try not to tear it up. I guess it all depends on your riding conditions though
I was looking at buying one yesterday but when I started it the starter sounds clanky like the Bendix is still engaged after the 4 Wheeler starts. I then started another one and sounds the same like the first one. Have you Had any issues with your starter.
Mr Lariata no I haven’t had any mechanical issues at all. I’ve owned it for about 2.5 years. I did some research and the clicking that you hear from the cvt side of the quad is the slack in the weights in the clutch. It doesn’t mean there is or will be anything wrong with it, it just makes a little extra noise.
Travis Walden so far I’m on 50 hours and have no issues. I’ve pulled trucks, cars, jeeps etc plenty of dirt and wood In a trailer. It all depend if you know how a cvt works.
Madd Mechanix we mud he was on stock tires with his frist 2 belts now he has my mega mayhems I took off my Honda I got footshift ain’t got worry bout that bs #hondalife🤷🏻♂️
Thank you for not just reading the factory specs. This is exactly the info folks need to make a purchasing decision. Kudos

GARDEN TRACTOR GEEK yes but once you do it once or twice it becomes second nature. Doesn’t take very long.
Did you say you can “add on the power steering” later if you want?
Cynical Texas Dad yes at least with the base model. That’s what I have. I’m sure if you get the more expensive model it would come with the power steering
Great Little ATV. I bought the XMR 570 but honestly I wish I had bought the 450 MAX model instead.

wraleen why is that?
wraleen I love my xmr, it was between my 570 xmr, and a normal outlander, both are great but I’m happy I put in the extra money
I have the same year of can am and cc but mine is orange and black
great review!
Looks good👍🏼
Legends Club Production thanks boss
