What negatives have you heard about the Can-Am winches? I bought the SuperWinch Terra 25 from the dealer. It is a SuperWinch, and the only real difference with the Can-Am "specific" is that the wires are all the proper length for the Can-Am. For me, 9 months later, there is nothing negative about the winch, that BTW I did install myself on my 570.
This is the first I've heard of the "performance keys" after weeks of research on these. I've been eyeing the latest 2021 Outlander 570 Limited Editions which come with speed limiting but those come at a hefty premium and are special order only. With 3 young boys, I want some sort of limiter as they get more familiar with the machine. It sounds like these keys may do something like that, but not sure I understand what exacty they do, or if there are after-market options that might do what I'm looking for.
I usually use the Green key, it uses more fuel with the performance key. It has so much power with the white key, in sport mode it constantly lifts the tires.
@@justinh8055 Odd that they would have the "safe" key as high as 45 mph. Do they have any "slower" keys by chance? Would be great to teach my kids at, say, 5mph and go up from there.
@@nicholash8021 Hey I think that the only way it could go lower is with a custom tune. I have not heard of a key that will go lower than what it was previously programmed too.
@@nicholash8021 There is an adjustment (at least there is on my 570) on the thump throttle housing that will limit its travel. You can adjust it so the throttle doesn't move at all, and the bike will just sit there and idle.
Don’t waste your money on a warn winch.. buy the harbor freight 3500 winch.. you’ll save a 100+ dollars and it’s just as good. The stock winch with the XT series is a warn winch..btw… it’s not crappy.
I got the 2018 Can-Am Outlander 450 couple years ago. I have put that thing through absolute hell and it is solid. I have replaced the drive belt the brakes get replaced about once every 60 days and the oil gets changed about once every 60 days. I just ordered the Can-Am XT 850 Outlander yesterday and I will stick with Can-Am from now on. I have had Honda Yamaha Kawasaki But this is definitely the best all-around brand I've ever had.
Changing the brakes every 60 days? That is horrible. I can understand the oil and would at least expect the belt to last a bit longer. Great to hear you are happy with Can-Am :-)
@@27Zangle when you ride hard it's going to happen. And Canam has its ups and downs. Like any other. But the end result is that these motors are tested true and the technology is getting better and better each day with these machines. They stand by their warranty and they have the best in business for extended coverage. If you are a casual rider then you can get a 450 model and be happy. But I need a bigger machine, no doubt. I put wear and tear on the 450 because I ride extremely hard. Not so much deep mud but fast track riding, sand, and tons of hill climbing. So if you understand the dynamics of riding then you can better appreciate the Canam. 💯
@@Allworldsk1 - Oh that is not too bad on the belt life then. Yeah, I am in the market but super afraid to squeeze the trigger on anything outside of Honda since that is where my experience comes from. The Can-Am 650 seems like a perfect fit/size for someone like myself. I also like the 570's of both Can-Am and Polaris. But then feels like I may as well get a Kingquad 750 or the Grizzly 700 over those. Either way, it does not matter right now with covid taking place and someone hit and run our vehicle two weeks ago so that is a minor setback, even with insurance. Haha!
@@27Zangle I'm really sorry to hear that. It just seems like there's so much going on for so many people but at least nobody got hurt I hope. I love Honda. Always have. I had a 650 Honda Rincon and loved it. Solid for years. I sold it in 2016. But whatever you buy it's all about what you want to do with it. If you plan to do the snow plowing or pulling a trailer or any type of Machinery with your 4-wheeler. If you plan on doing a lot of heavy work with the four-wheeler I would definitely go with Honda or Yamaha because of the drivetrain and the solid Connection in that frame point. If you ride really hard for fun and you like to get a little bit hard on your machines I would go with the 3-year extended warranty that Can-Am offers. That is what got me interested in the first place and I was very happy with the machine when all was said and done. I hope you find what you are looking for soon.
That colour looks amazing!

They said the tow capacity on my 2022 outlander 450 is 1350 so I'm not sure why yours is lower

Hey, the green key limits it to 45hp and it won’t run over 45 mph. The white key allows it to run 78 limited and opens up 78 ho

Should have got the xt
Its his choice! The xt is more expensive too and it comes at a better package though!
Agreed, he might as well have bought the XT.
