Ethanol has caused so many people headaches and expense ! ! In my opinion it is a curse on us that have to put up with it ! None ethanol gas is available in only certain selected areas of the country unfortunately so many of us don’t have access to it ! Damn the stuff ! ! !
I have two stations that have ethanol, free gas within about 20 minutes of my home, but it’s about a dollar more per gallon.. I think this is a way of getting around, making people give up their gasoline, cars and switching to electric in the long run. Because their cars will start to give them trouble, especially if they go to 15% ethanol in the fuel as Jay Leno mentioned in his video on UA-cam about stabilizers. They want to go to 15% .. I know that the oil companies get something like $.40 per gallon tax break if they make fuel with ethanol in it. And the tax break for making non-ethanol fuel is something like $.10 a gallon. So they are making four times as much money by making fuel with ethanol… maybe it’s time to start calling our congressman and senators to get them to do something about this problem.. then again, maybe they are the problem.. there are ways to remove ethanol from the gas. I’ve seen videos on UA-cam. It sounds ridiculous but apparently it works. It goes like this. get a semi see-through 5 gallon can. Put about 4 gallons of gasoline in the can, put in a gallon of water in the gas. That water will combine with the ethanol and it will stratify at the bottom of the fuel tank. Then just siphon off that water that has absorbed the ethanol and you are left with straight gasoline. that’s not me suggesting that, that is what I have seen and videos on UA-cam. But who’s gonna do that. It would be feasible to do that if you had a 55 gallon semi see-through plastic barrel, something resembling a gallon milk container that you can sort of see through so you can see that the ethanol water is stratified at the bottom, and you know how much to siphon off. But what do you do with that water/ethanol combination that you siphon off? Just let it evaporate? I have learned from UA-cam videos that ethanol fuel only stores for about 45 days. Whereas, non-ethanol fuel can sit in a gas tank for up to a year.. “We the unwilling, led by the unknowing “
@@Jodyrides I have four motorcycles that are carbureted I wish I had access to non-ethanol gas I’d be willing to pay more if It was convenient to me especially during the winter months when I’m not riding them ! Not only that you get more miles per gallon with non-ethanol !
I just watched a video that claims it’s not ethanol that is causing the carburetor, O-ring, plastics, diaphragms ,aluminum problems. They Claim it’s the benzene in the gasoline.
@@altec19 come to think of it, I think they have been putting benzene and gasoline for decades, and you are right. I never had any carburetor, problems or plastic float problems or accelerator pump, diaphragm problems or O-ring problems. or vacuum, diaphragm problems with machines that had Benzene in the fuel all this time… The problems started when they started putting ethanol in the fuel.. Royal companies are certainly not going to stop lending it with gas. As long as the government is paying them $.45 for every gallon they make of the blend gasoline with 10% ethanol. The government only pays the oil companies something like $.10 a gallon for making regular gas per gallon. They don’t actually pay them, they give them a tax break, which is the same thing as paying them… it’s money they get to keep instead of putting it in the kitty..
Well done, thanks for sharing.
thanks dutch .. coming from a perfectionist, that means something

@@Jodyrides How long have they been putting benzene in gasoline ?
Because I never had issues with my carbureted motorcycles back in the 70s
