By FAR the heaviest song I've done yet, w00t. I've been playing double bass for about a year and a half now, with most of that time focused on using the heel-toe technique, so I LOVE using it; but (as you can see) I still have to concentrate super hard when doing some intense and extended stuff, aswell as getting a bit tired near the end :) Unbelievable technique though, playing all the strokes as singles would be impossible for me at this stage, so maximum respect for anybody who can do all the double bass stuff with straight up single strokes.
As for the genre, not a lot of people know that I LOVE this type of music. Music that is ALL screamo and growling is a bit heavy for me, but post-hardcore and heavy metal that is as melodic as it is heavy is one my all-time favorite genres. Unfortunately I'm not very good at the drumming style yet (any hardcore metal drummers inna house will see that my blasting SUCKS and is actually cheating with the fact that I'm leading with my dominant hand on the snare just playing alternated 16th notes..) and that is the reason why I haven't done any songs like this yet; wanted to get it up to a standard where I felt comfortable posting it on YT (but I'm definitely going to keep working at it). I absolutely LOVE the intensity of the music and the drumming, so expect some more heavy covers in the future.

I know what you mean by getting up to standard before playing heavier stuff, (I dont have any means of recording properly yet by the way, hopefully one day soon I can get videos up here though). I have an 8 piece kit that I shrunk down to a 5 to try to get back to basics, and I don't regret it one bit my playing has improved ten fold.
So yeah, don't ever stop playing Cobus, you're an inspiration to many!
