This is a great video, love watching someone bringing back to life/running these old 500's, not too many videos on these old Yamahas. Thanks Guys!

Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Yup, of course it will run if it's a Yamaha. Lol

Glad to see the younger guys actually wanting to work on stuff. 👍🏻 I’ve got a 3yr old that is more mechanical than 90% the county 😆

Yeah I believe that we just need to teach them to be able to do for themselves at least to some degree.

I have the exact same one, 2nd owner and was running like a champ. Unfortunately my brother in law rolled it and put it away wet 😢. It turns over fine, throttle and choke both seem fine. However, as soon as its in the water, it struggles to get over idle speed. Sounds very muffled, almost flooded but doesn't sound that way out of the water. Any ideas what that could be? For what its worth, the small hose off the gas tank came loose. I assume its a pressure hose or something as it runs to the carb. Appreciate any reply

I’d start with make sure no water got in the tank. If it did clean it out and maybe get a kit and rebuild the carb. When water gets in sometimes it hard to get out. First maybe check the air fuel screw settings for both low and high speed. Hope it helps!

@@generalprinciple5921 it was the vacuum hose from the tank to the carb. The hose had ruptured and just needed to be replaced
