I just got 2 of these for my 55g. I've got 2 caves and lots of driftwood. Too young to sex. There's only about 1.5 inches and no signs of aggression yet. They're a pale gold...will they get more vivid as they get older? I just got them yesterday with a shipment t h at had fairy corys as well which I'm loving
Sorry for an incredibly late reply.. appreciate you watching my video a year ago lol. They always seem to start off pale and grow into a very bright yellow
@lakesregionaquariums2887 no worries. But yeah one of mine died almost immediately, but the other one grew to be a show quality lemon longfin. You can check him out in my 55g on my channel. People say he was a spectacular specimen. I had to quit the hobby a few months ago and give up both my tanks and stock to my lfs whobi know well, due to health reasons, but things are starting to get better so I might start up a new tank here pretty soon. I'm thinking 75g since my stand that the 55g was on is rated for a 75g.
Wow, sounds like you really lucked out! Ill check him out! Fish like that can be expensive! Sorry the other fellow did not make it, 75g would be a great size, even a 55, lots of room to work with!
Great vid.I bet yours is a female I have a male that's about a year old and he has bristles all the way up his nose around his eyes everything and he's about the same size as yours mine started getting bristles when he was 3 in long or so.
Thanks for watching the video man! And definitely for sure a pretty female, such amazing fish man, early bloomer like yours will definitely be a beautiful future stud, lucky you!😎👉
I have personally never seen a pleco activity hunt a fish as they are not a hunting species, they are not built for it, in almost 17 years I have never had a pleco eat another fish on my watch, BUT as they are a catfish they are more than capable of consuming another fish, most likely an already dead one. I could absolutely imagine a very large pleco is it had cornered a very small fish (inside its lip flaps) it would be able to eat it in that very very rare case 🙂
Thats actually funny you say that because a month or two, my pleco also had a green tint too it, I actually have no idea what that is, but it sure is cool to see
Thank you 🙏🏾
@SpiritKing-pg3hb Thank You! Appreciate you taking the time to watch my video!

@lakesregionaquariums2887 definitely....I want a geophagus and i think 75g is big enough for one depending on the exact species
@FishRfun i think a 75g would be perfectly fine for a host of geos, no problem with that at all, wonderful fish

Plecos eat fishes if they are hungry... so am worried

@@lakesregionaquariums2887 do you feed plecos as well in a planted tank. ???
@secretgarden5537 I sure do, they enjoy cucumbers, and regular sinking fish food, they eat both veggies and meaty foods
My L144 turns green at times, real green. Weird, never heard this about them. Anyone have a color changing Pleco?
Thats actually funny you say that because a month or two, my pleco also had a green tint too it, I actually have no idea what that is, but it sure is cool to see
There is a green dragon pleco so perhaps it has a recessive gene that's causing that
They leave more poop than they eat…😁
They are very dirty but I clean the poop up everyday with a turkey baster.
