Thumbs up brother. I was on the side of the road with a red stop engine code. My brother and I both saw this previously and pulled it up. Disconnected the magic plug and was able to drive from Iowa to MD. After a couple hundred miles, the , the red stop engine went away and the bell stopped dinging. Only had check engine light. Man you saved my ass as well as a couple grand in shop and tow bills. If I ever run into you....drinks on me.
Hey brother I’m pretty knowledgeable when itcomes to these cummins as well and like you I’ve known about this flood and used it on my previous Kenworth on the 871 now I have a Pete with the 2350 and have been experiencing DPF that has taken a turn for the worse so as we speak I’m running with the magic plugged unplugged just to get home so a buddy of mine can work some computer magic so I can vouch for all the other watchers that I boy hair is correct but on my particular truckIt has given me a countdown of time before 25% the right so we bout to pull over plug up regen and see where we go
It's called the egr temp sensor. Its located in the exhaust gas mass measurement flow assembly. The ecm determines where the turbo nozzle and the egr valve should be at flow wise based on the intake temp/pressure sensor, the egr temp sensor and the egr differential pressure sensor readings are at. If your engine is at all under warranty, do not do this. Your better off going to the tail shaft of the transmission and disconnecting the vss (vehicle speed sensor) then getting to your preferred shop. These systems are extremely sensitive and disabling a base engine system is going to cost you in down stream exhaust maintenance.
FYI. I just decided to try the egr temp trick on my paccar mx13 kw t660 and it works and motor runs fine if I can add pictures I will I've never commented on here before but watched lots of your videos. PS the lane honey video make me decide to start a brokerage it will be up and running by November I'm waiting for funding to get the assurity Bond.. keep it up
Ok 150 miles down the road my mileage went up .8 miles per gallon and I'm in Pennsylvania on i80 east so there's hills.. it works on a paccar mx 13 epa 10 kw t660
Ok update time.. I unplugged EGR temp sensor and EGR DPS sensor differential pressure sensor those two shut off the EGR on my pack are MX-13 EPA 10 model Yes I feel mileage went up over 2 miles per gallon on a 600 mi run through Pennsylvania on 80 up and down hills The problem is when I shut my truck off and turned it back on it said it into d-rate it has been a full day of going from shop to shop putting a new diesel dozer on And now I'm at pacar Kenworth in South bend Indiana getting the truck set in regen to clean the filter because the d rate only decreased my fuel supply still allowing me to go 75 but without a trailer I'm sure with a trailer I would not be doing that fast at all so yes if you're in a pinch you can get home doing this with a pack car and it will shut off your EGR and DPF systems but The moment you turn your truck off and turn the key back on expect a derate
Next update lol I just shipped off my ECU to a company to get tUUUned.. 😁 so I'll have it back by Monday or Tuesday and then I'll update yall on how it goes. Again I have a paccar mx 13 epa 10 kw t660
Ok I got the ECM back reinstalled it turn the key on and started my truck. No engine lights no d rates no problems works great krazy on highways hooked it up and I just did a 70 mile trip getting 6.6 mi to the gallon next will be an overhead valve adjustment then this thing should be running tip-top in the 8s.
Love the vids. Had trouble staying engaged because of the pace. Found the 1.5 playback feature and will now be able to watch them no problem! Keep up the good work

Hey Sammy, what about the Cummins ISX Engines in those 2016 ProStars, that Lone Mountain sales? Do you think they are CM2350s? Thinking about grabbing one from them, but I’m terrified of DEF, DPF, EGR, SCR, issues.
Can't stand that garbage! I've got a 2010 Columbia with the original Mercedes Benz MBE motor. They don't make those EGRs anymore, they are all remanufactured parts. Just went through three of them before I finally got a good one! My buddy has the same truck, he went through 4 of them last year before he got a good one. I've had this truck for two years now, and the only thing I've had trouble with is the EGR and DPF! It's garbage! Great motors get a bad reputation from the emissions crap. Just glad it's got a shutdown override button! This truck has never left me on the side of the road! Haven't needed a wrecker yet! :) Keep that rubber turning!
Alot of people bash the Mercedes engine(most of them actually never owned or worked on one) but they are not bad motors.the egr valve went bad on me twice third time it was egr delete time.never had problem after tht truck ran great!!
My western has that same whistle, unplugged it and it's gone. Now what's the actual cause of the whistle? I do most of my own work and am learning this whole dpf, def bullshit. I am really leaning towards the "bump" in the road here in PA that will make it all fall off...lol
Hey MakeCents! Need some input! Got a 2350 that goes into some sort of regen with no lights or codes. Can I unplug this to keep it from a constant regen until I get it to the right place? Thanks!
I’m in the middle of Montana and I’m getting fault code 3216, my nox inlet sensor, I’m probably going to be derated before I get to nearest town, will this help me avoid a tow bill?
Man, I was sure hoping this would work on my old 2011 Kenworth T700 to get me to the nearest TA if nothing else. Unfortunately, I will be calling and paying a road guy.
Oh fuck! Hearing yer engine just makes me happier than shit!! Mine sounds like it's gonna drop a crank on the climb. Usually tho, I'm waitin for a rocker shaft to exit the engine bay via my hood 😂
I've just bought a 09 t800 kw with isx15 why do you prefer the 07-09 vs the newer models?? And is this magic plug in the same general area on it? I will be doing a full delete on it just need to make some money with it beforehand.

I had problem with my engine Cummins isx 15 delta pressure sensor. I replaced the sensor and my check engine light still on..could run with check engine lights on til it disappear
How many miles can i run? I got a 2013 pete 587 w/isx, it is running after i unplugged but i want to make it home to do the delete Dpf. Im like 800 miles away from home.
Hmmm, that's strange. My 2014 W9 doesn't seem to have ANY of that crap on it. I know what must have happened to it, when I got that sumbitch, I hit a big ole bump, and ALL that shit "accidentally" fell out. Maybe I should go back and look for it? Nah, she runs real nice without it, and the DEF tank made a great reservoir for my wet line. LMFAO !
Hey bro I got 12 t660 kenworth got check engine and it says EGR and white smoke comes mostly hill areas power is ok will it still work if I take that plug off
Same here. I have a 12 t660 with a 12 isx. Same issue..had Egr plugged codes and while smoke flying like crazy when pulling any kind of inclines. All the smoke cause the manual parked regen light to come on then the red stop engine light. So I tried unplug this plug and we'll what do you know..red stop engine light went out and down the road I went with no problems. I'll be plugging it back up in when I get to my destination and do a parked regen.
2014+ Truck. If you happen to find a low mileage 07-09, those are hard to beat. Probably the strongest Isx made. Just hard to find one with low miles. Under 600k would be a Gem
fat guy no more Idk if is a good idea off delete the complete stuff some people say is ok some people say is no good cuz the engine was build with all that emissions
fat guy no more here in Michigan the delete run for 3500$ let see went I can check that out but I know for sure my 06 volvo hat more balls that’s this 2013 kw 660 500 hp no balls run super smooth at hwy speed
fat guy no more the volvo was a 450 hp 1.3 millón miles this This kw 500 hp It don’t feel like it was in the dealer ship in December it show is shooting the 500 hp idk I was looking to get a 2001 kw 900 but no one wants to finance a old truck even with reman Eng and remand trans so I end up with this 2013 kw no problem getting it finance
fat guy tell me about it I noticed driver are going faster I use to like driving 62 65 mph with this elog crap I have to run 67 70 I run mi oh ky tn Georgia
I have a 660 as well and did the complete delete on it and so far I haven’t had ANY issues! The engine runs a bit cooler and saves some fuel! I’m also planning later on to just do it straight pipe and leave the filter on the truck just in case!
MakeCents thanks bro! Buddy mechanic of mine has been telling it’s the box sensor, I’ve been putting off $600 sensor!!! I will get it now Can take the power loss. Thanks for the reply, peace
MakeCents Oh yea man, I'm looking forward to next week. Y'all gonna be tough. I'm from NC but my dad is from AL. We've all been bama fans our whole lives too even back when there was little hope lol. So, I know how you feel.
EC Truckin I cant wait. If they remain clam and have fun I think they’ll be tough on Saban. I can’t wait. I remember before Saban, the fans for AL were scarce lol Then the championship and the fans were everywhere 😂 but hey people love a winning team, can’t blame them. Alabama is a damn good team. I’m a fan, unless my Dawgs are playing lol Going to be a good game
MakeCents yea, Before Saban no one knew who the Tide was. Only thing people knew was something about a Bear lol I'm all Sec so if it went to Georgia I'm ok with that. I hope it's a nail bighter the whole game.
yes it will still work. But it'll only get you so far. You're having sensor issues or clogged canisters for check engine lights if you can unplug and it continues to run. It'll still show a check engine light becasue it's unplugged, but it should run enough to get you down the road to get parts or to a shop :)
@@colombiangoon3389 Got it fixed only to find out it was a stripped harness stripped harness. Had to go outside of kw for someone to actually find it after a brand new ecm, 3 DEF pump replacements, EGR pressure valve replacement, and a harness can't think of the name of it off the top of my head. All I can same expensive.
It's all in a tune. You can tune it to what ever you want it at. Not meaning the engine will hold up afterward though lol With these new Isx's, its safe for 500hp with boost setting no more than 32ish lbs.
Brother what can i do if I keep getting a low coolant light? Bad ecm? Can I just shut off the alarm somehow and not head to keep driving it. I bought new low coolant sensor
Plug that baby. Just plug it. Also my T600 has a Magic plug also. 1995 Detroit Series 60. Magic no EDL and no EGR. Love it. Now after the Dogs pulled off the win. And its a new year. Get out on the road, make your wife some Dollars...$$$$$$$$
Out of curiosity, what's a delete going to cost you? If you don't mind sharing that info. Oh, and I'm going to try and unplug that thing this weekend and see if it works and I'll let you know. 2010 Volvo with the Cummins ISX15-2250.
Fred Detro it’s going to be $2500 Fred. Yes please do. I’m curious if it will let you. If it won’t let you, it will just quit running shortly after you crank it. If that’s the case just plug it back up.
MakeCents I'm sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. I didn't work. The engine ran about two minutes, through a code-I forget what it was, then died. I plugged it right back in, but the code stayed active. I have my own insite software so I just reset it and it never came back. Sorry again-just been busy and forgot.
Hey, sure would like to know the name of your guy who does this for you and whatever else he does. I know you don't like to give out his name so it's okay. I get it.
EGR is main reason we all have break downs these days. If youre getting a shut down and engine quits running and you have plenty oil and coolant, most likely its a emission sensor. Thats been my experience anyways. Plus on alot of these newer trucks, there are Engine diagnostics to let you know what it is. If you are unsure, unplug and see if it will run.
MakeCents hey I just got a new Inlet nox sensor in Chicago made it all the way at the Sioux City and it's cold of course but damn all types of stuff started happening D rated I'm getting ready to get a rental truck I left the truck set for day and a half from this morning went out there and all the codes are gone next time it happens I'm going to give that a try thanks
Those NOx sensors are a &&*(*%! I had one go out in Amarillo at the Flying J. Derated me to 3MPH, I took the side service street all the way to Cummins lol Even with that it would still run. Hopefully you get that thing going man, best of luck. And for sure, try it and see how it go's. It saved my butt more than once on last truck before I deleted
Very few X motors come in for egr issues, what this does is disables the egr valve that was the reason for the different engine sound, if your trying to get to a shop is one thing. Doing this over a long period of time will cause the engine to derate and possibly plug the cooler.
Hey man, I’m a cummins tech. This plug you guys call the magic plug is actually the EGR differential pressure connector. No offense to you because your not a professional tech. But, if I were you I wouldn’t let anyone at Cummins know you drove this truck with that plug disconnected. Your warranty will be VOIDED. Personally, if I had my way I’d turn the job away. You guys think your helping other truckers out, your not. Your screwing them over by telling them this bogus bullshit. You’ve been warned, so please stop telling others FALSE INFO about the Cummins engine.
No offense, but if you're going to give advice, drive one and see the difference. Most of you "Professional Techs" say the same ole song and dance. You know how to plug in and repeat what a computer says lol Driving and keeping them running is a lot different that diagnosing and NOT fitting the bill. I haven't been in a "Professional Tech" shop since 2015. Think I'll stick to my advice. Also, if you want your points to be valid... Know the difference between a Differential Pressure sensor VS. a EGR Temp sensor, js
MakeCents, I’m sorry man, but the COMMON magic plug that you truckers point out to me on the engine and call it the (magic plug) is the EGR Differential pressure sensor on the EGR Mass Measurement Flow Assembly forward of the EGR Valve. The one you messed with in this video is the EGR temp sensor. I know the difference between all 4 EGR sensors. In any case man, if ANY Cummins shop plugs in to your or any other trucks ECM and finds a specific code that’ll be all they need to void your warranty. We Cummins techs know about these specific fault codes from doing what’s called circuit response tests. If and then it becomes negligence by the owner/operator once it’s been determined that the vehicle was ignored and driven anyway. It doesn’t matter wether there is a check engine light or not. There will be a MIL light on CM2250 an newer trucks and no light on CM871 and older trucks. Yes, EGR issues do cause Aftertreatment faults and vise versa. Either way, unplugging and driving the truck with a emissions sensor unplugged is not only a DOT issue it’s a Cummins Warranty issue. So, by all means keep helping other truckers lose their warranty by unplugging ANY emissions sensor and driving it like that. By the way, no not all Cummins techs just plug in to diagnose. You do plug in to find a vague direction to start at but we have to follow Cummins CSS troubleshooting trees to fix trucks. If that’s what you think is just plugging a computer in to diagnose then so be it. I do this everyday for a living and I personally have a 98% repair rate meaning I rarely have ANY comebacks or false diagnoses. I’m just telling you what you portrayed in this video is going to hurt truckers more in their wallet than getting it fixed at a proper Cummins certified shop rather than the old school backyard mechanic. Those days are gone for a reason, too many screwups and not enough VALID repairs. Like Rodney Dangerfield says (NO OFFENSE 👌)!!!
You techs are telling us to NOT work around an issue and that it will cause harm downstream Ok I believe you but you're not telling us why specifically. We don't care about codes we just want to earn a living. What damage does unplugging this sensor do? Unplugging a sensor is a good option as opposed to a $2,000 tow bill!
I drive a Volvo. After I bought this truck it would go into derate. I would take it to the dealer and drop 2-4,000 dollars a pop. The factory trained techs couldn't find the problem.... Over and over again 2-4,000 dollars!!!!! I had to file bankruptcy last year due to this recurring problem. Finally one morning I got up to take off and the truck was flat dead... Nothin... Lights... Radio... Everything dead. O boy here we go again another 2-4000 repair bill. Called a nearby dealer and gave him my tale og woes. He told me to check the battery main disconnect switch. The nuts were finger tight!! Bolted the cables together and havent had a problem since! This little issue cost me 10's of thousands of dollars! So you can see why I am less than confident in factory trained technicians.

Nah, she runs real nice without it, and the DEF tank made a great reservoir for my wet line. LMFAO !
lmao I've got get mine like yours asap.
Do you want the GPS coordinates to where that "bump" I hit was? LMAO !
CumminsDslPwr I know where a good “bump” is down here in Griffin Ga myself 😆😆😆
I’m just so ready to get it done
Yep just hit that “pothole” today. So much better road from there on.
Do u no wat causes it to ramp up and whistle my 2250 is doing it
Hey bro I got 12 t660 kenworth got check engine and it says EGR and white smoke comes mostly hill areas power is ok will it still work if I take that plug off
Hey makecents engine light came on code fault number 2791. Could you help
I have no idea. Try googling it. Isx fault code 2791 👊
Thanks for the obvious lol
Would help if that sensor is replaced or cleaned?
SOUNDS DAM GOOD TO ME!!!!!!👍🏾👍🏾
What year do you think is best for kw cummins. Looking to get a t660
2014+ Truck. If you happen to find a low mileage 07-09, those are hard to beat. Probably the strongest Isx made. Just hard to find one with low miles. Under 600k would be a Gem
I have a 660 was thinking on the delete but is not giving me a problem so am waiting see wat happen ... ok boss be safe out there
fat guy no more Idk if is a good idea off delete the complete stuff some people say is ok some people say is no good cuz the engine was build with all that emissions
fat guy no more here in Michigan the delete run for 3500$ let see went I can check that out but I know for sure my 06 volvo hat more balls that’s this 2013 kw 660 500 hp no balls run super smooth at hwy speed
fat guy no more the volvo was a 450 hp 1.3 millón miles this
This kw 500 hp It don’t feel like it was in the dealer ship in December it show is shooting the 500 hp idk I was looking to get a 2001 kw 900 but no one wants to finance a old truck even with reman Eng and remand trans so I end up with this 2013 kw no problem getting it finance
fat guy tell me about it I noticed driver are going faster I use to like driving 62 65 mph with this elog crap I have to run 67 70 I run mi oh ky tn Georgia
I have a 660 as well and did the complete delete on it and so far I haven’t had ANY issues! The engine runs a bit cooler and saves some fuel! I’m also planning later on to just do it straight pipe and leave the filter on the truck just in case!
My engines Derated, only yellow engine symbol. Turbos not boosting past 20lbs, would this help?
doubt it. Seems like a nox sensor or a leak in the system.
MakeCents thanks bro! Buddy mechanic of mine has been telling it’s the box sensor, I’ve been putting off $600 sensor!!! I will get it now Can take the power loss. Thanks for the reply, peace
U know Pete’s have cummins 2 right ??
Only thing wrong with that Chevy is the Bulldog tag on the front lol
Go Dawgs! Cant take that form me EC, been a Dawg fan my whole life and we get this far is amazing :):):)
I’m a fan, unless my Dawgs are playing lol
Going to be a good game
MakeCents yea, Before Saban no one knew who the Tide was. Only thing people knew was something about a Bear lol I'm all Sec so if it went to Georgia I'm ok with that. I hope it's a nail bighter the whole game.
Will this work on a 2019 engine?
Probably. Unplug and and see. If it continues to run. You’re good if not. Hook it back up 👊 only ok Cummins tho. It sure with the other engines
Brother do the mx13 paccar have a plug like that?
Didn't work for me. My 2015 ISX POWERED PROSTAR INTERNATIONAL ISNT DOING JACK. IT WONT EVEN FORCE REGEN BUT IT WILL GET UP TO SPEED.
Will this still work for a kwt680 cummins? Having problems with stop engine light at the moment please help out.
yes it will still work. But it'll only get you so far. You're having sensor issues or clogged canisters for check engine lights if you can unplug and it continues to run. It'll still show a check engine light becasue it's unplugged, but it should run enough to get you down the road to get parts or to a shop :)
@@MakeCentsTrucking got the derate fixed. where would this be located on my 2016 isx15?
@@tammywhite7581 did you get it fixed? I had that light turn on recently
@@tammywhite7581 ok thanks, let's say 2k to 1500
Go dawgs, I have new 2021 KW 2017 x15 motor. engine light on only 9000miles. Help. Lol
Warranty lol it’s prob just a bug to get worked out.
I do know with an x15. Don’t baby it, let’s it run and build up the temps to burn off the soot.
Will doing that give the engine full power ?
It's all in a tune. You can tune it to what ever you want it at. Not meaning the engine will hold up afterward though lol With these new Isx's, its safe for 500hp with boost setting no more than 32ish lbs.
Brother what can i do if I keep getting a low coolant light? Bad ecm? Can I just shut off the alarm somehow and not head to keep driving it. I bought new low coolant sensor
top it off to the top. if that doesn't help I have no idea besides ecm
I've had that same problem. Its its a sensor/float inside the plastic coolant reservoir. I had the reservoir swapped out, problem solved.
Worked on my 386 pete.
Awesome!
I'm ready for it to be plugged Pete. I'm on it, I'm wide open lol
Oh ya!👍
What is the cons of driving it like that
takes longer
This might be a stupid question, what would stop you from deleting the scr and EGR and DPF and just leaving that plug out?
Dpf and scr will soot up and clog. It will eventually shut you down. Needing a regen
@@MakeCentsTrucking but if you gutted both of them?
YOU ARE AWESOME
Question why u not doing the egr def delete like in the other truck if u can reply
I'm saving up for it. Home has been taking all my money lately, cant seem to stay away and make me some tuning money lol I will be though soon
I get it.
What was that sensor called??
Egr Temp Sensor
Shit for what I see on your dash is 17 degrees outside
👍😉
How do you know if it's the Eg r got you on the side of the road
Derated me to 3MPH, I took the side service street all the way to Cummins lol
Even with that it would still run.
And the name of the plug/sensor is?............
egr temp sensor
MakeCents fast reply brother, I appreciate it. Great video
Just buy a glider.........
You know how to plug in and repeat what a computer says lol
Driving and keeping them running is a lot different that diagnosing and NOT fitting the bill.
You techs are telling us to NOT work around an issue and that it will cause harm downstream
Ok I believe you but you're not telling us why specifically.

Will it work on a Cummins isx 15 with a auto, my engine is a 13
yup. Trans has nothing to do with it. But truck manufacture may keep it from running. wont know until you unplug
@@MakeCentsTrucking yea I just tried it but it's still in limp mode... only 5mph
It's not EGR related.. last time I had a 5mph derate and plug wouldn't work, It was a nox sensor.
