The symptoms of the fault are:
Check engine light on
Red stop light on
Amber light on
High crankcase pressure
Oil leaks
Turbo failure
Tools needed:
11 mm socket
3/8 drive ratchet
8 mm socket
1/4 drive ratchet

Just replaced my old filter, which I change twice a year, with the bypass. All my front seals started leaking, due to high pressure, but no one offered this. It was due to a bad cam shaft, and associated parts. I'll try this anyway, as my isx 15 is a money pit, til I sell it. Also keep that carbon packing down by only using Valvoline premium blue! Or, the new Delo 600 or 400. The first preferably, as it was developed jointly by Cummins and Valvoline for the isx, yet no one tells you about it. It is in the manual if you have one or actually read it. It produces the lowest amount of soot, ash, etc, so carbon packing is virtually, but not absolutely, mitigated. If having a carbon packing issue, fist clean with FTC Decarbonizer oil cleaner (amazing stuff, as well as there fuel/dpf cleaner additive!) then run a full oil change cycle of Valvoline Premium Restore. It's expensive, but it works. It can save you thousands in engine repairs, and extend it's useful life. This bypass filter should help with blow by issues I read.

I just had a valve adjustment and I started getting the 1942 code for crankcase pressure so I changed the sensor and filter and the check engine still comes back on. Did the valve adjustment have anything to do with the sensor coming on? My front seal leaks and my oil pan a little I can drive 20k then my dip stick says add

Hi, my 2008 isx is leaking oil out of the exhaust hose coming out of the crank case filter box. I have to get an already existing oil leak on the front engine cover.

My friend, I had the CM2250 and I replace it with the same looking filter. Just ask at the parts department for the upgrade filter for the crankcase filter. They will give you the right one, blessings

Hey man I got a injector 1 misfire, I changed injectors, injector harness, engine harness and cleaned ecm connectors but still get the code but when I shut my truck off I'll shake the ecu harness and the code goes away do I have a short in the ecu harness?

Francisco my crankcase pressure light came on and I changed the filter and the sensor. The light when away. I drove for 700 miles and now is back on. My truck is also overflowing the reservoir. I changed the EGR cooler. Any I dea what it is??
You need head gasket the coolant coming back to the reservoir is just that.

It related to the crankcase filter heater. It is on the crankcase filter cover or maybe the plug or the wiring is bad.

I have a lot of oil consumption on my ISX. Will replacing this filter help the consumption any at all?? At least until I can rebuilt my engine?

@@thebigboss1839 hey man it was determined that I needed my head replaced. With the problem I was having, I was burning 2 gallon of oil every 2k miles. So my head calves were causing the mayor oil consumption. Plus, my injector cups were no good. Coolant leaking into the pistons. After new head, I’m burning half gallon of oil every 4K miles and no coolant in diesel.

Te recomiendo que no le pongas ese filtro yo le puse ese filtro corrí como mil millas y me chingo el motor a hora tengo que gastar 16000 mil dólares para arreglarlo por a horrarse 48 dolares me saloi peor

If you use this filter you can leave there forever but this will not prevent oil consumption problems.

usdpaulp no there is not and never will because Detroit uses a different kind of crank case breath system. They do not us a crack case pressure sensor so you won’t get a code.
No. DD15's don't have a crank case filter. They have an oil degasser commonly referred to as a "spinner" its that black circle thing on the right hand side of the block under the turbo.

Spins it really fast to separate the crank case gasses from the oil, then feeds it back int o the pan. Even detroit doesn't call it a filter in PSL or parts pro. It's official name is a "Crankcase Breather Assembly"
This filter does not work my Kenworth was doing blow by I put this filter and made it worse ,now engine is being over hauled 23,661.02 is going to cost
