I want everyone to keep the same energy if the same thing happens to Zidoo or Dune. Hopefully it does not….but it can happen. Also the same thing happened to K.
The Zidoo players don't require you to set up an account with them, don't charge you $50 a year to use the media interface and have a better interface overall as well, has broadly similar features and yet the Z2000 Pro is half the price of this and is better looking too.
I use a Zidoo and it’s really great, If you already own one you probably don’t need the PlayerOne. The 50$ is for Zappiti owners who want the R Video player app. It comes free with the player one.
I just got this new R volution 8k. Tried to sync the video player to my synology NAS using Wi-Fi within the same network, it didn’t work. It kept kicking back to login page for the NAS network. Just to want ask on how you were able to do it with yours? Did you use Ethernet connection? I know the manual said to use Ethernet. I can’t because my home theater is too far away from my internet connection network. Zidoo player allows me to connect my NAS through Wi-Fi. R volution doesn’t. Need your helps. Thank you!
Hello, Is it asking you for a user name/ password when you try connecting? Also check to make sure you have SMB3 enabled on the Synology NAS and the most recent rvolution software update.
@@easyhttech thanks for responding. Yes. I entered username and password for synology account. It is SMB3 enable. Software has been updated too. I have same set up as my previous zidoo player, and it worked fine through WiFi. Did you connect yours through WiFi or Ethernet?

Next page is the Authentication page asking username and password. I entered it correctly. Hit confirmed. Next page will show a MEDIA folder ( in my synology NAS). I clicked on it. R video is running, then boom, it kicked back out to the Authentication page. Just really weird. My prevt zidoo player didn’t do this. On application, there is SMB sever folder with R volution server name, etc. did you have to do anything with this? I wish your video included the part which you linked R video to your synology. Nobody on UA-cam ever shows this part. R volution customer service is useless. Can’t call them.
I'm using the £5 a month software on my Zapitti....believe me.......Zapitti media software was a million times better,,,,!!...im still unsure why zapitti went bust???
Good video. I subscribe. You can do all this stuff for free on 150 dollar used pc computer ..except Dolby Vision. There is also a used Shiled. These were incredible products 10 years ago. I had several versions of media players but I wouldn't pay almost 1k for this. No way.

Good aftenoon Ike. The 8K version is overrated. No HDMI in is a problem and makes it worthless for many. There's nothing available on 8K so the price is unreal and not worth it.
Externally, the box looks like a Dinosaur from the 2000s. The manufacturer will lose to the Chinese just as Volkswagen and BMW are losing to electric cars.

Zappiti poster wall stored all the data on the cloud. Zidoo and Dune don't. So it won't happen.

If you’re going to use a nas drive just use infuse on an Apple TV save $800 and have a MUCH slicker interface 🙌🏻
Infuse is a good alternative for those who don’t want a dedicated media player.
You don't have Dolby Atmos Sound with infuse.
