It would be a massive improvement if they would just cache the artwork locally and allow you to have 5 lines (or more) of titles shown on the screen. Why won't they focus on these simple but major GUI improvements over bringing new hardware out... It feels janky to only see 3 lines of titles on a 150" screen. Overall I like it, and it does playback better than the Zidoo. For example I could never get the Zidoo to run some of the Dolby demo ISO files. I haven't had any playback issues on the Rvolution.
@easyhttech Well the hardware is there with the 4k model. I'm surprised with this one because they said they were going to bring out a Z9X competitor diskless version for cheaper... which I thought was a good move... But instead we get 8k?! Who cares about 8k on a movie player?
@@MacroproxyI’m looking at getting a media player for ISO playback. How does the UHD ISO playback on the Z9X Pro compare to the PlayerOne? Especially things like BluRay menu browsing and DTSX bitstream pass through, which seems to be the sticking point for most media players?
@bowlnut17 Hi there. For playback stability and menus and such, I think the PlayerOne is better. I've switched to it, although it needs improvement in a few GUI aspects. Playback has always been stable and consistent, which the Z9X Pro had a few weird ISOs it couldn't play, like Dolby demo disc's. A few gui issues, like I wish I could show more lines of movies, and the Zidoo is faster at loading artwork, are a little annoying. I've been pleasantly surprised at the ability to manage the collection on the revolution, which I thought was going to be an issue.
Thanks for this video. Do you know if the R_volution PlayerOne 8K Media Player will play Dolby TrueHD or Dolby Atmos audio from an MKV file? Most media players will only play Dolby TrueHD or Dolby Atmos audio if the movie was ripped as an M2TS file.
Can I ask what the drive noise is like when it’s playing a movie? I have a Zappiti Reference player (running the Rvolution software) with 2 16TB internal drives and they make a right racket when in use. Really loud clunky noise when they are reading the data which is a bit distracting. 👎🏻
I think these chipsets are starting to come with 8K as a default. It probably makes no sense to put out a hardware like this that isn’t hdmi 2.1 or 8K compatible in 2024 regardless of if we have the content.
I want one later.. I have 2 EMOTIVA RMC-1 and wait the 8k board upgrade.. sad he Don, t have 2 hdmi output.. as I live back in France, I ignore if it,s region free ??? I have a lot of bluray US region
It uses AI to upscale 4K content but I think you’ll need a really large screen to see any beneficial change in quality. For actual 8K content you’ll also need a display that supports 8K.
Price? i am using the Z9X PRO for $400 cnd its amazing but some things i would change just like the R_volution PlayerOne , I'd rather put my own art because i had the WD media play before and it let me to add the artwork .. unlike these new players if it does not understand how you named the movie it wont add an artwork ..and i have so many i have to rename for these new players to grab the artwork.

Yeap, The playback is really great and hopefully they can make additional GUI improvements now that they have the hardware.

Can this be integrated into Harmony remotes?
Duh if you have a 8k like most that is watching this... 899 price is NOT OVERPRICED geez... how much do you think we paid for our 8K TV

Enjoy the distracting noise 😆👍
@@DavidMander-rs4uk I bought an SSD drive which is silent. Sorted!
How did you put the Rvolution app on your Zappiti? I have a Zappiti how is that done?
Pointless for 8k
i will wait for the 12k player
There's no content for 8k...
Absolutely pointless!!:

Can you recheck the 4k player for video settings.
I think this player has more options for video and audio settings.
Yes it does, I can do a series of short videos showing the different settings. Thank you for watching.
Fucking amazing ❤
No Blu-ray 4k player inside!,
I don't want it.
What about the people that have a large collection of movies on DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 4k?
The point of this player is to play your ripped disc collection. You have to rip it all first.

It will play almost any file format you throw at it.
Have you compared it with the signature model?
I don’t have access to the signature model. I will put in a request and see if I can get one.
how good this player does upscaling work?
It is actually pretty good.
How is video and audio quality comapred to 4k player ?
I would also like to hear about this.
nice review but i want to know more about the 8k aspect of the player how the 8k works and so on
