Fantastic episode. Becoming by far my fav podcast. I love the way you guys keep it realistic and honest and actually watch movies. Do what makes you use the room the most. Over the years I've progressed from bedroom setups.. 5.1 ss to college setups ... low base music orientated... to first house livingroom setups...tv based with great ss audio.. to finally now a dedicated room... my front l/r are from the late 90's from my original setup and are perfect in my completely blacked out dedicated room with 7.4.4 projector room. I use it every single day.. tv, movies, music. I bring family/friends round at weekends. Everyone loves it !!

So happy for you. I love the DIY home theater vs the high budget install. The excitement is noticeable in your voice because it’s something you have done and take a lot of pride in. I have a similar setup in my home theater with a tv behind a motorized retractable screen. I only use my projector for movies and special events. You are inspiring me to make a HT video as well. Thank you for the review and the unboxing video you referenced here. I had been looking for a solution for my parents living room since there really wasn't much floor space to use for subwoofers, especially since mom prefers a nice clean look. I didn't go for the dual models, I went with two single models since I wanted to maximize their amplification potential. And coming from someone who had DIY'd my subwoofers, with practically six 18" subwoofers and six 21" subwoofers, soon to have two 24" subwoofers added into the mix, I was surprised with the low-end performances of the SVS in-walls, they exceeded my expectations and fill in the void left by using a pair of DIYSoundgroup Volt 10s in sealed enclosures in the living room. And my impressions are pre-calibration, I'm still needing to get things wrapped up fully and proceed to the calibration side of things!

R_Volution is the worst player i have used. Zidoo is miles ahead of it. Iam so annoyed that I will make a video stating why.

Nice setup, good to hear how it came together. Tough to do when most of the GTG are to watch demos.

Hi, I am having frame drop issues on my zidoo z9x. I tried playing the same file via usb and there is no drop. I have a nas. I don't have any issues on my shield pro with the same network setup(cable, switch box etc.) What could be the problem?

I like this guy’s room. Anymore the room tours that you see are usually out of my reach to achieve. Guy did a good job and it’s something that I could do. Good job man.

good to hear someone who appreciates 6 overhead channels. It really does make a difference with sound mixes that fully utilize active objects that travel all over the room. Especially if you want the front and rear soundstages fully covered above ear-level. This is something that a LOT of people dont take into consideration.

thought id share my excperiance with you all since my 8K pro arrived yesterday I pre-ordered the device while based in Dubai and was thrilled to receive it on November 18th. The service was outstanding, and the packaging was excellent. I had high hopes for this product. However, after unpacking the 8K Pro and adding my 16 TB Seagate Exos drive, things quickly started to go downhill. When I powered on the device and attempted to create my account by clicking on "Video," the screen went black and then returned me to the main menu, stating it could not connect to R_Cloud. After multiple attempts, I finally managed to create my account and add my token. I then tried to add my movies to R_Video. While the movies were added, I was disappointed to find that I was not getting any previews when clicking on a title; all I could hear was the soundtrack from the film. When I managed to play one movie, it stuttered and buffered for the first few moments before finally settling down. After turning off the device for the night, I was hopeful for a better experience in the morning. However, when I added ten more movies, the lack of previews persisted. Attempting to play a newly added movie resulted in the same frustrating message: "unable to connect to R_Cloud." Overall, my experience with this device has been incredibly disappointing. I sincerely hope that the issues I'm encountering are specific to my setup and not indicative of a larger problem with the device itself. I was expecting a "premium" experience, as advertised, but so far, it has fallen short. Do you have any advice on how to resolve these issues? Should I consider installing a VPN

I would not cover the speakers. You should cut around them. It can't sound good being covered.

I have the Player Pro 8K from R_Volution. So far, I would not recommended anyone purchase it yet. The only way to get content onto the internal drive (that you supply) is to transfer over the network. The Player Pro 8K doesn't recognize any file format you format the drive with on a computer and a computer doesn't recognize the file format the player uses when you use the internal "format drive" feature. Obviously, transferring 80gb files via SMB over the network takes forever. This is broken in my opinion. Secondly and more importantly. the player will freeze at random times during video playback in which the audio will skip around and play VERY loud pops through the surround system. This is not only potentially damaging to your speakers but extremely frustrating as you can't finish the movie that you're watching. This player was not yet ready to be launched.
